I don’t think Usher cares that ppl are imitating him. It’s more the fact that they then go on to say that it’s all their own style, their ideas. Thats what gets him annoyed.

Hey, Usher is the first to pay his respect to those that came before him and he is not being bigheaded by saying what he said. Chris Brown himself has come out and said that he would try to imitate Usher’s “My Way” when he was a kid. Therefore, Usher has been the influence for these newbies (Ne-Yo, CB etc) rather than Michael and people from that generation. So Usher should be recognised as an important influence/pioneer. He has it all and thats what these new guys want to acheive…Just like Usher wanted to achieve the level of Michael and Marvin!

Ne-yo the first time i saw that cat me and my roomate was in our dorm like who is this fake Usher ass dude lol. Now Chris Broen to me has his own style and has even said when he first came out that he looks up to Usher and that he influenced him even though i dont see Usher when i look at Chris Brown or even Omarian for that matter. At least he acknowledges Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson as his main inspiration. The new cats coming off like oh they were inspired by Michael but that is not true when u see their videos today all u see is an Usher lookalike. Justin more than all these cats. They don’t give Usher respect cuz they are being compared to him so they don’t want that on their resume. And why are the videos looking very much similiar to Usher’s if they are not biting his style? And for your information why would Usher who sold 1.1 million in the first week setting history for an RnB artists be jealous of these new cats? U gotta be kidding me…Usher got everything moves, personality, drive, looks, and most important the voice.

He does have a point thou. There are a ton of artists that are biting. I’ll listen to an artists song and there will be a bridge that sounds almost the same as Ushers with their own twist. Usher has gotten his material from other artists but at least he’s acknowledging them.
