Lil’ Kim Resigns With Bad Boy?

Published: Thursday 7th Jun 2007 by Sam
According to AllHipHop.com, rapper Lil’ Kim has (re)signed with Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. The pint-sized star made her first appearance as a renewed Bad Boy artist during Diddy’s set at Hot 97’s Summer Jam event on June 3rd. This may come as a surprise to some, as the relationship between Kim and Diddy was rumored to be far from great.
I’m not entirely sure if it’s true, but it could be a good thing for Kim. Despite the obvious complications promoting her last LP ‘The Naked Truth’ (due to her prison sentence), Kim’s then-label Atlantic messed up the project with wack video’s and poor promo. Needless to say, the album tanked. Maybe Diddy will do her right with this new deal. Then again, when does Diddy do anyone right? 112, Danity Kane, Cheri Dennis….the list goes on.

Do you think Lil’ Kim is right to sign with Bad Boy?

Lil Kim was never signed to Bad Boy Records. She often collaborated with Bad Boy artists but was never signed to the label. She’s always been on Atlantic.

Before her reunion with Diddy, the rumour was she might be signing to INTERSCOPE. This came about before she even came home from prison and was a judge on the Search For The Next Pussycat Doll show.

Kim hasn’t signed with Bad Boy. If anything it’s been a marriage between her OWN record label (Queen Bee Records, which resided under Atlantic’s Umbrella) and Puff’s Bad Boy, which could give the Queen Bee the financial backing for her own street promotions team.. which has always been Bad Boy’s biggest challenge.. promoting its artists. The previous post was dead on as well when they said Kim was never signed to Bad Boy to begin with.
