MTV Movie Awards Performances: Rihanna & Amy Winehouse
The 2007 MTV Movie Awards took place last night in Los Angeles. Both Rihanna and Amy Winehouse performed at the star-studded event. Check out their performances:
Rihanna – Umbrella
I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting Rihanna’s anticipated performance with Jay-Z to be anything special; however I was pleasantly surprised by how good she did. Everything from her stage presence, to the vocals, to her look were all on-point. I’m still wondering what relevance Jay-Z has on the song, as he added nothing to the performance.
Amy Winehouse – Rehab
UK singing sensation Amy Winehouse also took to the stage to perform her hit ‘Rehab’. I liked her performance and felt it improved as it went on. She’s definitely had better performances than this, though. At the start she seemed kinda uncomfortable, yet got it together by the middle of the song.

Rihanna looked great, she seemed so nonchalant… Jay-Z just adds credibility, same he did for ‘Ye.
That other chick Winehouse was a weak performance. She didn’t seem confident, nor did she smile or even seem interested. *Two-thumbs down*

Rihanna has got this live performance thing down pretty well, that was nice. I just think we need to see more of HER in interviews and stuff. It’s time for her to stop being wannabe Beyonce Jr.
Amy’s performance was ok, the song is more for lyrical content and the little play about going to rehab, so I wasn’t expecting much. it was cool though.

That Rihanna performance was WACK. She’s tone deaf and she can’t dance.
Why do we even watch MTV anymore? It’s so irrelevant.

that hair style was ripped from Janet jackson’s Billboard performance of so excited. same hair style but she was good i was entertained.

Rihanna’s dancing was awesome, her vocals..sucked. same with Jay-Z. everything else besides that singing was good thou. -.-

I didn’t get to see Rihanna because I fell asleep, but Winehouse looked uncomfortable.. but she sounded GREAT!

Why must you people, especially Black women,be so hateful and dismissive of Rihanna?She looked, she danced and she sounded great.Why can’t you all be happy and proud of her success.Yet you all are going on about how amazing Amy Winehouse was.Amy is a good singer but her performance here was not amazing!Like Beyonce,another beautiful and talented Black woman performer;You all are hateful and dismissive towards her, yet fawn over Amy Winehouse(Who is also talented).WHY?Why can’t Blacks be happy for other Blacks,especially Black women, and not be dismissive and hateful?STOP THE HATE and JEALOUSY.Beyonce and Rihanna are both gorgeous and talented.If you do not like their music,fine.But this attitude coming from their fellow Blacks is sick and twisted.If you all can keep open minds and hearts for others,surely you can do so for other Blacks????
