I totally agree with BaseMagazine. It wasnt the last name that carried her, and in fact, at one point it was the last name that hindered her, and she managed to break out of it, and blow up on her own. Janet will be fine, she’s got some good producers behind this album, and all they need to do is do some good marketing, pick a hellafied bangin first single to propel her new album to the top, and choose some even better singles to keep it that way. This ablum wil shut the haters down, and Janet will reclaim her throne. Thanks to Beyonce and the likes for keepin her seat warm while she was away LoL

I Don’t why people keep saying her last name carried her because it didn’t if that was the case randy , letoya rebe and etc. should’ve had some banging careers. The girl got talent and when she really wants to she can cut that whishpering on the track and give a powerful vocal performance.

This is really a stupid question. Of course Janet has what it takes to be successfull. Although I like 20 YO and Damita Jo, it wasn’t her best work. All Janet and the producers need to do is make great music and the rest will follow. The problem with Janet is the single selection. For example, there was a lot of hype for 20 YO, and everyone was looking forward to the album, but when she released Call on Me as the first single, it was a BIG let down. The song is good, but it should have never been released as the first single. Secondly, she left the best songs off the album. Roll wit chu and days go by should have been on the album, not just the Japanese version. If she wanted to release a slow song as the first single, it should have been roll wit chu. That song would have been a HUGH hit just like Mariah’s We Belong Together. So good Music and good single selection is the key for Janet. I am a hugh Janet fan, and no matter what, I’m spending my hard earned cash on a Janet CD.

I really don’t think that she has that much of a chance. She can not sing and the thing that has really been selling for her is the music. I don’t care who produces this next CD if it sells it will only be because her lastname is Jackson. I feel that is what has been carrying her the whole time. I am not a hater by all means I just like ot listen to someone who when on stage can actually carry a note and you can hear and understand the words that they are singing to you. That song that she had with Nelly, no one had a clue what she was saying. I had to see the words printed in order to understand what she was saying. That is not cool at all.

Back to Janet. I literally have all of her CD’s … the major releases anyway, not those remix CD’s. There was a time in my life when no one could say anything bad about Janet around me ’cause if you did it was time to fight. I have since become less of a fan, but I continue to buy her music because I don’t want to break my colllection. However, I will say that as of lately I think it is time for Janet to start moving in another direction. Her hey day is over … If she is looking for the same success she has earlier in her career then I think she needs to pass on that goal … I don’t see it happening.

She and Jermaine should get married and start on that family she has been talking about. I would have not suggested she have a child with him because … well … we all know why … but I saw a photo of his daughter … she looks just like him … he may be hard on the eyes, but he looks good on other people … very pretty little girl.

Dunno about Janet I got her last album on sale and for real it weren’t that bad, what jars me about her is her weird videos, look at ‘Call on Me’ with Nelly good song but weird video I didn’t want to watch it, ‘So Excited’ is my jam but the video was a little weird as well,

She should be alright if she has more than one or two good songs and picks good singles, Pharrell has some beats so good luck too her, the only thing I can say and sorry if it seems patronising but Janet is a grown ass woman she needs to stop acting like them young girls i’m not saying she don’t do her thing but I wouldn’t mind seeing a more mature side to her, that’s just what I think, she still reminds me of her “What Have you Done For Me Lately” days think about it, she ain’t really evolved, but do your thing Janet
