The video for Timbaland’s latest single ‘The Way I Are’ premiered yesterday. Upon listening to the producers’ album ‘Shock Value’ a while back, I felt ‘The Way I Are’ to be one of the few decent cuts on the CD. Yet the video is poor. Similar to the vid for the first single ‘Give It To Me’, it’s cheap and no thought appears to have been put into the concept. What’s more is that it does little to introduce Timbaland protégée, Keri Hilson (who features on the track) to the masses; she just wonders aimlessly across the screen. Disappointing.

I don’t get the video… Doesn’t math the song at all, I was expecting something more colorful & 80’s…
Well I wouldn’t say it’s the best video I’ve ever seen – not even close – but I don’t think it’s quite as bad as you make out.
I feel they’ve matched the song with the video concept fairly well. i can see what they’re doing at least. The song has a very ‘industrial’ feel to it, with the broken rave synth running through, so the industrial surroundings and flashing lights work in my opinion.
I also think Keri Hilson is showcased fairly well, she looks s***.
One thing I am lost on though is the soccer players ???? What the hell’s that got to do with anything.

i actually thought the video was quite ok. not as bad as you said. i like the jumping camera and the lighting. Keri hilson will go far..
Video doesn’t match the track. I like the alternative end although.

i’m with post #2… sam, your description of the clip makes it seem worse than it actually is. keri gets a fair dose of camera time and kills it…
yea, the soccer players are a bit random but what better sport to fill in the gaps with… golf anyone?
Good producer, but sucky videos. Dude needs help, he’s got the money geesh.
