Mel B Appears On Larry King Live

Published: Monday 13th Aug 2007 by Sam
Melanie Brown, alongside her attorney Gloria Allred, appeared on the Larry King Live show this past week. In the interview, Scary Spice – as Brown is more commonly known – was grilled on her relationship with Eddie Murphy, her legal fight against the actor regarding their child Angel, as well as her motives behind meeting with Murphy’s ex-wife a couple of weeks back. Check out the interview:

Part One

Part Two

This whole situation just gets messier and messier. Mel came across pretty well, but she didn’t address claims that Eddie has already been making payments etc. I’m wondering if it’s a case of ‘a woman scorned’ or genuinely trying to make Eddie aware of his responsibility?

Your thoughts?

I go back and forth on the matter. I understand that for a long time, Eddie Murphy denied his paternity and brought down Melanie’s reputation in the press by insinuating that the baby wasn’t his. It is necessary to go to court to secure financial payments for child support and not just agree by having someone give you their word. At the same time, single parents bring up wonderful children every day and as Larry kept saying and Melanie kept avoiding… you CAN’T make someone be a part of their child’s life. And that viewer’s comment is true… why would you want to force a parent to be a part of the child’s life if they don’t want to? That would hardly be a healthy situation for the child.

Its really sad on Eddie’s part cause he has what like 5 kids anyway and this is his child he needs to step up and be a parent. I give the highest respect to Melanie she’s not doing anything wrong..if Eddie doesnt wanna be apart of the childs life which is just sad its his lost and I pray he comes around..but if he doesnt Angel will know she has a mother that loves her much..and when hse’s old enough to know the deal its gonna be something..

Watching that I have to say Mel B comes across as being somewhat economical with the truth when she asserts that her baby was planned with Eddie Murphy. They only dated for a few months – its most unlikely that they ever planned a baby if marriage was never mentioned. The way she is parading her child in public is disgusting too.

As a product of a single woman, raised fatherless, I totally admire and wished my mom did the same for me. Also, in ten years from now Angel will see how she was not wanted my her own father, which is very sad. I also think that Tracey Edmonds is a fool to think that Eddie would do the same thing to her. Tracey looks very stupid, commenting on a relationship based on what Eddie tells her. If she was a real woman and mother, she would encourage him to take care of Angel. Her saying that it has nothing to do with her, further proves how ignorant she really is.
