Since the release and subsequent poor performance of Kelly Rowland’s sophomore CD ‘Ms. Kelly’, there have been calls for a re-release to bolster sales. It now appears that a reworked version of the album may be in the pipeline afterall. Following a concert in Atlanta this past Friday (August 11th), the singer was quoted as saying she was on her way to the studio to record more tracks. Whilst it’s common-practice for artists to record inbetween projects etc, the comment is interesting when considering her manager Matthew Knowles’ new ‘multi-tiered’ (spread across time) approach to releasing records – first shown with Beyonce’s ‘B’Day’ project. For what it’s worth, producer Brian Michael-Cox (‘Bad Habit’, ‘Be Without You’ etc) was in attendance at the concert. {Source}I’m all for a re-release; it’s not too late to right whatever wrongs were made with the handling of this project. ‘Ms. Kelly’ was a very solid effort and anything to rejuvenate the album is welcomed by me. I say she should hurry and put out a 2nd single -anything- and follow that up with something from the re-issued CD toward the end of the year.

It’s worth a try but I don’t think a re-release will make much difference to her sales. The hurt that was caused to her album sales could have been prevented if the CD was promoted properly and had she been supervised under better management.
No…please no. It truely wont make a difference. She has to look at all the other artists who didn’t sell good. They coulda re-released their CD, but they were smart enough not to do so. They knew what the outcome would be. Kelly is not acting smart at all. She’s acting like she’s new to the game and she’s nothing without Beyonce. She doesn’t need beyonce, but she’s actin’ like it. It’s better to just wait til’ the next album to deliver better records.
i’m at the point where if i see matthew walking down the street i’d shoot him! this man is a plague in kelly’s life! i think they should release three singles from the original…like this, ghetto, and silwmx and then rerelease in january. silwmx has the potential to top the charts, so she should rerelease when there is buzz! i hope it all works out, i’m buying!
Everybody knows that Kelly has an album out. If you want to support Kelly then go buy it. Blaming management at this point is fruitless. She was on TV, in magazines and her new single is at radio. The new chris brown single did not light up radio nor did 50’s and nobody has a thing to say about their management. The industry is in a f***** place right now. gIVE THE GIRL SOME SLACK, SHE IS TRYING…
I think this is a good move! Think about it…
One of the big reasons the album did not sell is because it took her so long to put it out, and by the time she did…anticipation had died down and half her album had been leaked like a year ago!
I think if the new tracks she records are good and do not get leaked, it will up the ante. And it will keep her relevant longer, similar to how B is still promoting B’Day 1 year later!

kelly is like the not smart woman in an abusive relationship. That is how she is with matthew knowles. she is so jaded. And for her to say no one goes platinum in their first week anymore, as the reason for her sorry sales. what decade is she living in??? there have been plenty of albums that have gone platinum in the first week…ex. usher, 50 cent.
The problem with her sales is that people are expecting her to be beyonce, when she is not. Different looks, differnt sound. I will buy the rerelease, but I’m not sure how many other people would

I have never understood the re-releasing of a cd. I guess it must work because a lot of artist do it. Personally, If I didn’t buy the cd the first time around, I’m not gonna buy it the second … if they new songs are any good I’ll download’em … which is percisely why cd sells for everybody is down.

unfortunaltely, an insider says that it’s a wrap for Kelly Rowland. She will not be re-releasing anything. Ghetto will be released without a video, and that is all.

i mean come on its been 6 months since “like this” was released. and alot of ppl agreed “like this” was not one of the album’s stronger tracks and that alot of other tracks beat it like: Work, Still in love with my Ex and Comeback.
A rerelease will not be a wise move if it isnt accompanied with the release of new singles.
