Following the poor reception Ashanti’s recent single ‘Switch’ received, the singer and her label went back to the drawing board. It’s now been confirmed that this new track, ‘Hey Baby (After The Club)’, will serve as the official first single from her forthcoming album ‘The Declaration’. It was reported a while back that Ashanti hit the studio with Diddy and Mario Winans and this must be end result as the beat is lifted straight from Diddy’s ‘Last Night’. Though the track is good, it’s still a long way off what she should be putting out if she’s hoping for a successful ‘comeback’. A tidbit: Is she really releasing another song with ‘Baby’ in it lol? Hit or Miss?

I think Ashanti needs to reevaluate her career. The song is OK at best. It wont get much airplay. Not tryin to hate, but she needs to become creative and do her own s***. Ashanti has a decent voice but it is not living up to its potential. I could go without hearing this song.

Liked the beats but not her singing voice
It is okay so far. The beat definetly is reminiscent of P.Diddy and Keyshia Cole, but it is okay. I think if I listened to it a couple of times I might like it more.
This song is just blah. It sounds like something recycled and I cannot agree more can this girl please be banned from using the word baby in another song?
There are other words to use chick! She is going to have to come way more creative than this if she is ever going to breakout any bigger.
