‘Her Name Is Nicole’ Pushed Back To 2008

Published: Wednesday 31st Oct 2007 by Sam
Nicole Scherzinger’s record label Interscope have confirmed that the release of the singer’s debut solo album has been delayed until 2008. At time of writing, no reason has been given for the push back. {Source}
This really comes as no surprise. Both singles ‘Whatever You Like’ and ‘Baby Love’ were complete and utter garbage – failing miserably on the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. Nicole’s team are reportedly ‘rethinking’ their next move – with more studio time not being ruled out. I say she should scap the entire album and start afresh. Better still, go back to the Pussycat Dolls and hope we forget this whole mess (her album) ever happened.

Any thoughts?

    um, maybe you should calm down. nicole is one of the few actual talents in the game right now, and she’s been bustin’ her ass on this album and its promotion. i think it’s pretty f***** up that she’s not getting the success she deserves when people like britney are at the top of the charts with no promotion and an album she had very little to do with. i find it even more f***** up that you’re hatin’ so hard; if you don’t like the material, you don’t like the material, but don’t knock the artist who’s put real effort into her music.

    I agree with your post. both songs were garbage…. I dont care how hard she was bustin her ass per below post. If it is garbage then that what it is… just because she was workin hard dont mean a thing…I should not have to like a song because the artist was bustin her ass…

    I agree with Sam, too. Whatever u like was a so-so dance track, it’s missing that certain something, and i can’t really put my finger on what it is that’s missing to make this a hit song… and “baby love” is an absolute disaster, the first time i heard it i had to plug my ears….she does have a good voice, but not good for that type of strong ballad, at times she sounds really horrific, i refuse to even imagine how it would sound live. and to make things even worse the videos for both singles are whack.

    i love nicole, however i thought both of the single was good but not a great debut solo single. i think she should go back in the studio and record some new duo song. i mean nicole is well round peformer. she defintely can dance and somewhat sing. nicole is represting the muti-race (flipino+italian) which rare in the music industy. I’m LOVING THAT.Also i hope she doesn’t sink as solo artisit,i’m mean she GREAT. Nicole made great duo track like come to me ft diddy, avant, fire ft 50 cent. she is defintly something everyone should look for.i’m rooting for and hope she come #1

    i think the timing for nicole’s solo project was just way off, its like she got ahead of herself with the success of the PCDs – i’m sorry nicole i like you alot & you’ve got a great voice; but you cant put out one group record then a solo right off the back (gwen stefani/beyonce did’nt even do that) get back with the PCDs ASAP & remind us of why we loved you in the 1st place, and just scrap the solo project!

    I actually thought ‘whatever u like’ was ok, but just not definitive or unique enough to have an impact on today’s music charts.

    of course she going to go back to the pcd they r recording their second album call double the trouble… but why do people say go back to pcd. same thing with kelly when she flopp people say that she was better off in dc.. just because she didn’t came big off like beyonce… nicole will get her shine true.

    Did we expect anything from Nicole I mean really other than her fame with the dolls does anybody really care ? because to be honest she tends to be forgettable.

    I think both songs are great! Radio doesn’t recognize her name and there’s always politics involved. Just because some songs chart higher than others doesn’t mean they’re better than ones that chart lower. Big hits tend to be generic and appeal to any idiot.

    I agree with Sam. Both her singles were not hits. And yes Nicole is talented but not wise in choosing songs that will define her as a solo superstar. I was quite surprised that she did not use the same producers that carried the PCD to success, for her album. Why?
    And u know why I think fans lost interest? There is too many artists right now, coming out with albums. It is so confusing. All these pushbacks and building up anticipation is getting on my damn nerves. Frankly, they r testing my patience! This new method of selling albums is making me lose interest in buying anything.

    I liked both songs – but i don’t think they were good enough to compete with whats on radio now – her songs are average – nothing special – i would still by her cd though.
