Nas Names New Album ‘N*gga’

Published: Monday 15th Oct 2007 by Sam
It seems Nas is going for ‘controversial’ on his forthcoming album. Check out the report via MTV:

On Friday night at New York’s Roseland Ballroom, Nas announced the title of his next album: He said it will be called Nigga and released in December. A source close to the project confirmed the name on Saturday.

Though he’s undeniably one of Hip Hop’s most talented MC’s, this all seems a little desperate on Nas’ part. It’s no secret that his sales have been drying up with each album, so i guess, when all else fails, resorting to shock value is the answer.

Any thoughts?

Look I like Nas thought he was hot back in the day but cha I ain’t gonna lie I didn’t get his last album cos nothing I heard made me wanna get it, don’t forget calling his last album Hip Hop Is Dead caused drama now this, but hey he can call his album what he likes, but on the real until they take that word away from racist mofo’s who say it out of hate, don’t say nothing to the rappers, you may not like the word and no way in hell you could call me the N word but cha you gotta admit they turned it around a bit,

@Sam: did you even follow the sales for Nas’s most recent album? Not what I would called “dried up” when his first week performance was better than Jeezy’s.

There is no right or wrong, just perspective and opinion, so…

We can debate the usage of the N word six ways to Sunday … and never come to an agreement, with that said, I will just have to say that I don’t appreciate him or anyone else using the word. I always here people say that we have taking the word back, but I’m not sure what that really means. I guess, to me, taking the word back means a Don Imus or a Bill O’Rielly can use the word and it will not be a problem … it is then and only then, in my opinion, when the word will truly have lost its affect.

I’m not one for political correctness but i think this is a bit of a p!ss take. I mean sum1 in Big Brither in the UK got booted out for saying it casually, yet Nas is almost promoting the word…

No wonder people dont know where the guidelines are anymore in regards to racial terminology…

From what i can work out, its ok to say it if your black, but if your of another ethnicity your a racist Nazi?

    Madness.
