Dawn Robinson Performs ‘Don’t Let Go’ (Solo)

Published: Saturday 26th Jan 2008 by Sam

Former EnVogue member Dawn Robinson performed the group’s monster hit ‘Don’t Let Go’ during her New Jersey concert on January 12th. With all the drama that’s surrounded Dawn for the longest time, I can say that I, honestly, didn’t expect her to nail it in the way she did. Vocally, she was really on-point. Great performance.

What do you think of the performance?

American R&B singer Toni Braxton is currently working on her yet-to-be-titled sixth studio album. In the show “Crossroads” (hosted by Sheletta Brundidge) she revealed that she plans on releasing a new album around May or June, 2008.[1] In an interview with Groovevolt.com, Braxton said, “I’ve been recording on my own. I went down to the studio recently, and just laid down the idea. I just don’t want to forget it”. Still, she won’t re-record anything from Libra, and will never re-sing anything from Blackground. “I may sing a few songs on tour”, she said. “There is a song, ‘I Wanna Be (Your Baby)’, that was dedicated to Diezel. I will always sing that song”. “On the next album, I will not be doing any hip-hop. Maybe as a guest on other albums. I would love to work with Michael Buble. [sic] I would love to work with Rodney Jerkins, Rich Harrison again, and maybe Ne-Yo. I really like his style”. She added that she did not know if her husband would be working with her on the next album. “I may try something totally different this time around”. Still, she left the door open, adding, “Of course, if he has a hot track, it will be on the album”.[2] Braxton is currently still unsigned to a record label and revealed that she has been meeting with label heads

Dawn adressed the recent drama on another blog. Here is what she had to say. >>

Hey! I want 2 thank you guys for all the comments good & bad. Nice to know the majority has my back. As a public figure I’ve lived a private life, that is until a very angry person betrayed my trust & decided to put my life on blast & then, make up lies about me. I dont say his name either but trust he will show up with an alias lol! We are still married & he does have a gf who is preg which by the way is his 2nd child outside our marriage, trust me, I am MUCH better off WHEEEEEW! Like Medea said “IF SOMEONE WANTS TO LEAVE YOUR LIFE LET THEM GO”! Oprah had a few stars on her show who had Bi-polar disorder & God showed me who I’ve been with for the past 4yrs! Bi-p people sabotage EVERYTHING in their path, personal & professional.
    Hes her problem now. BUHBYE!
As for my rep in the biz, I ENJOY being labeled “DIFFICULT” LOL! Many people got rich off of our hard labor & we did not. I spoke up but of course they couldn’t keep the big mouth around so, they got rid of me but when it happened again in LP, it looked like I really WAS the problem & that stigma has followed me. “You know who” used that to his advantage against me. Hes a great manipulator. I am VERY proud to come from EV & LP! I am part of 2 beautiful legacies! Our names will be in the history books! Reunion, you never know? Not cryin over split milk! Lived, learned & now experience will bring me the monetary success as well as the fame. My life is an eerie parallel to Tina Turners when she left Ike & went on to super stardom! Im a strong sista girl! My new album will right all the wrong. The past is already a distant memory.

I love the performance. Thanks for sharing it. x

I love EnVogue, and that song brought back some memories. The girls – even the new one – look good, and they STILL can sing!

It’s a shame her solo career never took off for whatever reasons, but without a doubt DAWN was EN VOGUE. Can’t wait to hear her new material.
