New Song: Michelle Williams – ‘We Break The Dawn’
The full version of Michelle Williams’ new single ‘We Break The Dawn’ made its debut on People.com earlier today. Set to be the first release from Williams’ forthcoming LP ‘Unexpected’ (due August), the Synth-heavy track sees the former Destiny’s Child member embrace a more Pop/Dance/International sound – something we can expect to hear more of on the album as well. I’m loving the fact that Michelle wasn’t afraid to step outside of her comfort zone and try something new, as the results are evidently fantastic. A solid cut, that should (and most likely will) have many anticipating more of what Michelle has on offer. I really feel as though Michelle has a great chance of hitting it big (solo) this time around. As I’m sure most of you all know, we will be interviewing Michelle very soon. I really like Michelle’s voice and her new music, but I’m going to be real here. While this song (and Stop This Car) is great, I don’t see major success for it or the album. The music industry is no longer about talent. With top producers taking over the industry, celebrity rules supreme. Yes, Destiny’s Child was huge, but as a group. Solo, only Beyonce has enough star power (or X-FACTOR) to make it. Plus, Destiny’s Child doesn’t hold the star power it once did (mainly because they have debunked). I really hope Michelle sees success, but I don’t think it’s possible in the current state of the industry. The New York Times discussed this whole celebrity thing in their profile of producer Danjahandz. At least Michelle’s fans can enjoy her new music and new look. =)

i love michelle as always! i bought her gospel albums and i like them. but when i listen to we break the dawn and stop this car, i am like, WHAT?! it’s toatally differnt from dc or beyonce or kelly!! and it is still HOT!!! actually, i don’t care whether this album will be a huge success or not, as long as michelle sings great music, i’ll support her! i just can’t wait to buy the album!! i can agree with anybody. tzhink it wont be the biggest album or it wont hit the sales with one million at the first month but it will be a great album more and more people will know who is michelle and if she do her thing well she wont be known for a life as the third member of the best selling group of all time….
kelly should change and find her voice and not being depressed about low sales. she and her label should choose the right single right producers right everythiing and she will be famous in everywhere but she had to do it clever.
Beyoncé should not do an album in two weeks. she has to do it better than anybody to have a place in history as the all time best…

IMO i like the song, its a different sound for michelle….I agree with everyone that she probably won’t be a platnium seller but people will know who she is.
Kelly does need to get on the band wagon i love her and feels that she has so much potential but she is done so wrong. Love Again great song couldn’t the album fall under those realms
Anywho i wish michelle the best and this one is definitely putting her in the right direction.

This song sounds like it belongs on Jordin Sparks album. This song has a really nice positive kind of vibe to it. I like it. Unfortunately (like Anonymous 9:00 said) the music industry is somewhat screwed up right now, so Michelle’s chances of selling over two million are very slim.
