Since when did beauty become synonomous with light skin? I know plenty of unnatractive women that happen to be light (in and out of the industry). I also know ebony-skinned women that happen to be gorgeous. Most dark women are gorgeous. Most of them have FLAWLESS skin. Most of them have OUTSANDING features (there bone structure is sick!). They DON’T NEED alot of MAKE-UP. They are NATURAL beauties. There are alot of very pretty light-skinned women in this world;but most of them can’t hold a candle to my chocolate Queens. I’m sorry. Some people may get upset with me for saying this but light skin is over-rated. I can say this,since I have semi-light skin (I’m not high-yellow though,I’m a golden brown). I know that none of us can help what skin we are born in,but this color war that we’ve been waging since the dawn of time is really getting old. God adorned women with beauty;and that beaty consist of things more important than the color of her skin. Try looking into her eyes. Try noticing her smile. Listen to the way she laughs. The way she walks. Try telling her how beautiful she is because of who she is,not what she looks like. Just because we live in a shallow world doesn’t mean we have to be shallow. Don’t let this jacked up industry define what’s beautiful. They get it wrong ALOT. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made. TO ALL MY LIGHT-SKINNED SISTERS. I know I was a little hard on you. Please know that I love you all too. I just think it’s important to tell deep-brown women how stunning they are. They’ve been given the short end of the stick for a very long time. Even you would have to agree.

I agree with him but I just think he didn’t put it in the right words. Seriously, do you think that Beyonce would be as big if she was darker and didn’t have a blonde weave? It’s really sad that other talented artists get ignored because of the obsession with the idea of ‘fair and lovely’….I hope it all changes one day.

I agree with Snoop. Lets face it, society and media has brainwashed alot of people into thinking beauty is only in the shapes and forms of Beyonces and Halle Berrys.Lets use Alicia Keys and India.Arie as examples. Its true that Alicia Keys will always sell more records than India.Arie. India.Arie to me, is a very beautiful and talented woman.Sadly, society doesnt feel that way. Dont get me wrong, Alicia is beautiful and talented as well. But lets be honest, if Alicia looked like India.Arie, do you think she would be the superstar she is…no. Its sad but its true. I agree with Snoop because he’s been in this business for a long time and he’s seen first hand how prettier women get more exposure. The music industry is a mess. Now and days it not about talent its about face value.

Just for the record, Lauren Hill is a BEAUTIFUL NUBIAN SISTER WITH 100% TALENT. It’s just a shame there are many more out there who aren’t recognized

My grandmother used to say: “Fish can’t see water.” And that’s the case with Snoop. He’s completely blind to the fact of his misogyny because he and people like him have been swimming in it all along. The reason why he believes it’s acceptable to treat women the way that he does is because he believes (to quote Peter from Family Guy) that women are androids created by the Lord Jesus Christ exclusively for men’s pleasure. A lot of men feel the same way: "if my d*ck gets hard looking at women, then the reason they exist MUST BE for my own personal sexual pleasure." But they aren't. Women are people, too.

To people like Snoop, women aren’t human beings and well never be. Men like Snoop define their masculinity in complete opposition to all things feminine. The standard they hold themselves to is: the more I can degrade a woman, the more of a man I am. That's utter b*llsh*t and it's an act of profound ignorance and cowardice. The well-kept secret is that men and women are NOT opposites.

And the defective, brainwashed, damaged women that actually LIKE being treated as less than human (under the guise of “I have to make money to survive") need EXTENSIVE therapy.

And if it were true that so-called "ugly artists" don't sell, then Snoop shouldn't be able to sell a single album.
