Syleena Johnson Update
Some of you may have been wondering about the whereabouts of R&B songstress Syleena Johnson, following the release of her last album ‘Chapter 3: The Flesh’ back in 2005. After the poor performance of her last LP, Syleena severed ties with then label Jive Records in 2006. A year later the singer gave birth to her and husband Kiwane Garris’ first child – Kiwane Garris Jr in August 2007.
Having signed a deal this year with with Federal, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, Johnson’s own label Aneelys Records (Syleena spelt backwards) will release her new album ‘Chapter 4: Labor Pains’ as a joint-venture on September 2nd. {Source} Check out new promo pics for the release below:

I’m real amped for Syleena’s new album; ‘Chapter 3: The Flesh’ was one of my favourite records upon its release – I vividly remember having ‘Hypnotiq’ and ‘Another Relationship’ on constant rotation. It’s a shame the album didn’t fare as well as it could and should have – much of which can be attributed to the label’s lack of support. Here’s hoping that ‘Chapter 4′ earns Syleena the recognition she deserves.

I love this woman and her albums are always on point. Cannot wait for the new album, I hope she goes major this times with multi-platinum sales. Good luck my girl and keep it movin and congrats on the new bundle of joy.

I love her music! U right, that Chapter 3 album was great! Didn’t know it did that bad though.

Thank you so much for updating us on Syleena Johnson! I am a HUGE fan of hers and I’m always depressed when I think about her and how little promotion she gets. She is a truly talented artist and I’m glad to see more fans out there! Thank you!

Syleena, Syleena, Syleena!! What a wonderful gift from God…this Woman is in my life!!! I was quite upset about the low promotions of Chapter 3: The Flesh….I’ve worn out that CD so swell, I had to buy another copy!! Then had to get my dj friends to speed up the track so it could sound right to me cuz I just WORE IT OUT!!!
I have EVERYTHING she has recorded!! Yes, even the album with her and her father,Syl!! I can not wait for this new project to drop!! After having the privilege of working on a play with her, I think I proved my loyalty to her as I showed her I carry with me Chapter 2: The Voice around in my back pack for “I Believe in Love” and the other tracks that I fell in love with!!
She is an inspiration and I am very happy for her and the new baby!! Congrats, girl!!!! And I’m waiting for this new album to be added to my collection!!!!!
