50 Cent Launches Verbal Attack On Keys

50 Cent Launches Verbal Attack On Keys Following Alicia Keys controversial comments on ‘Gangster Rap’ recently, the ever-outspoken 50 Cent has launched a scathing verbal attack on the singer:

“I don’t like Alicia Keys no more. If she thinks what they consider gangsta music is [made] to bring black people down then I think my sh*t falls into that category. I don’t like people who don’t like me. I don’t like her then because that’s what provides the life for me.

I think if you ask Ice Cube the same shit, he’ll tell you, “F*ck Alicia Keys” for even saying that. Because the success he’s had as an actor and a businessman, there was no opportunity for that sh*t without N.W.A. But I don’t think that [her] classical sh*t is cool. I don’t give a f*ck if you can classically play the piano. I haven’t been classically trained, because my upbringing, nobody put me in front of a piano at that time. If they did, I would know how to do it as well as she does. I could learn how to play the piano if I was passionate about it right now.

That’s obviously my perspective evaluating what she does, and I could f*cking care less about the sh*t. So she don’t like the music that embodies the harsh realities because they’re not her realities. She hasn’t been subjected to the same things”. {Source}

While 50 does present some valid points, his argument ultimately sinks when considering the wider picture. Yes, he’s had tough experiences, however it’s hard to see what he, himself, is doing musically (or otherwise) to bring about a change in how these ‘realities’ are depicted by the media and rappers themselves. Instead, 50, and others – having long risen above their ‘hood’ beginnings – oft use their platform to release music that a) glorifies a lifestyle they are no longer lead and b) allow it to be used to, as Alicia put it, ‘government forces’ to continue to oppress young black men who aimlessly get caught up in it.

Lol, this is all getting a little wordy and essay-like, however it’s all in the name of healthy debate – something 50 should have considered when articulating his point, as this just seems like another case of 50 running his mouth.

i love me some Alicia, but i’m siding with 50 Cent’s whack ass. The more hits Alicia Keys has, the bigger her head gets. The more Grammys they throw at her, the more primadonna she is. The diva keeps showing up and i’m NOT feeling it.

50 Cent’s dumbass totally just burned her too, “So she don’t like the music that embodies the harsh realities because they’re not her realities.” ouch.

wtf??? i mean he could state his opinion and say what he feels that ok, but to put somebody down like that he just looks like a fool. damn saying F*** Alicia Keys. From all that he has dealt with in his life u would think he would learn something. thats not the way to respond. Im starting to believe 50 doenst like woman at all. he has more beef with female singers then male singers(for ex. beyonce, alicia keys) hes always talking s***. hes a piece of s***. I dont repect anyone who doesnt have respect.

He has the nerve to talk about a woman like that! He completely misinterpreted Alicia’s comments. She cleared things up on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. Blender manipulated what she said.

WTH is he talking about. Alicia had no fairytale childhood. She grew up in Hell’s Kitchen. She worked hard and rose above it. She was accepted to Columbia University for Heaven’s sake! 50 thinks because he was a drug dealer, he’s seen all the pain in the world. Pathetic. o_o

It’s clear to see that Alicias intentions are good. Why would anyone want to encourage a gang culture that destroys young lives? I wish these artists would put an end to glamorising this situation, and using that kind of language to make a point is not the best way to be taken seriously.

^ITA. I too wish that this lifestyle was not glamorized. There is NOTHING glamorous about it and it is destructing the youth. Lost youth take the “music” too much to heart and think it’s a way to live.

50 shut the hell up……alicia aint thinkin about your ass…..please let somebody else speak up for gangsta rap cuz 50 sounds stupid to me

i mean i dont agree with wat the girl said either but damn….can we get an educated response please

There is nothing wrong with disagreeing, the most important thing to do when disagreeing is to sound intelligent. He lacks the ability to make an intelligent statement. His comment makes no sense because she never expressed not liking gangsta rap in fact she talks about her favorite Biggie song being me and my itch in that interview. She basically doesn’t like the music being used as the culprit for things that actually brought birth to the things that those rappers spoke about. This thing has gotten way bigger than it merited.

i can’t stand 5 dimes whatsoever. I will admit, he was smart as far as how is handles business and has built an empire for himself, but his close minded g-HETTO ass really needs to slow his slow ass down, inhale, absorb what she stated both times and really take a moment to understand wtf she was commenting on. Yea its true, this b******* about gansta rap was unecessary and we as the people should stop sitting by as those we idolize bash others in an attempt to make theirselves look bigger.. i.e, 49 + 1 pennies bashing on Alicia AT THIS VERY EFFIN MOMENT.. damn, did he not catch enough bullets in him to wake up and sniff some ritalin for his a.d.d. ass? if you think about it, he’s probably the most hateful b****** in the industry now, start beef with ANYONE whatsoever. sure, his beef has succesfully knocked out some of the most annoying people in the industry, i.e. Ja-Ruler & his Murder gel-ink label… lol.. but still, he’s causin the most beef and he is destined to end up like Tupac & Biggie, six feet under with a bunch of his haters smiling at him.. he just won’t have hundreds of hits being released afterwards as the legends have tho. haha

Alicia in now way ever mentioned 50 cent, why does 50 feel he has to speak about everything??How many “gangster rappers” could of said something by now? 50 is just cracked out of his mind and saying anything! He aint lost no damn weight for a movie, I’ve seen buff cops before…

Now he got caught using that HGH, they watchin him, and lately crack does a body good for ol boy.. 50 is wack, rich ,and lonely, of course he needs some attention..

If anyone here is classically trained on the ‘worlds smallest violin’, please get it out & play it for Fiddy… Just because we haven’t all been shot, doesn’t mean that we ain’t all had our struggles – what a load of Crap this man comes out with.

Does he seriously think that Alicia came from an upper-class family? Damn, all he had to do was go on wikipedia & he would have found out where she came from… F*ck Alicia Keys? No, f*ck 50 cent, I think we all know who has more talent…

  11. Anonymous April 21, 2008

Fiddy is just riding Alicia for publicity since his last effort caught a brick…
He’s a media w**** who pics “beef” with every and any to sell a record.
    Next!

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. And alicia was just saying how she feels about it. 50 didn’t have 2 bring her down like that.
50 just needs someone 2 beef with because he no longer have attention on him. And by him doing this…. it proves alicia’s point!
So 50… sit down and stfu!

  13. Anonymous April 21, 2008

Just because 50 was bought up in the drug game, and it took 9 shots for him 2 become “famous” doesn’t mean he gotta bring alicia down like that.
Alicia used her SKILLS to get where she’s at now. She GRADUATED from COLLEGE! And she has street smarts. She struggled all her life just to get here.
And now that she has gotten here, she has done nothing but positive things.
Can someone please tell me what positive things 50 done??? Cause I don’t know any.
I live in queens, I haven’t heard anything about him giving back 2 his community.

Alicia’s comments were not geared at 50, jus @ today’s society. When u look around in black communities today, all u see is young black kids wantin 2 b gangsters & mimicin what they see 50 & other rap artist do. There are exceptions where you see kids who want to 2 the right thing & make somtehing out of themselves instead of wanting to get shot, shoot somebody or sell drugs. The gangsta life is glamorized in every way, shape & form to the point to where the media expects all black people to act like that. I’m not knockin the way you grow up, because I have to grow up like myself, but i think that once you get older that its time for a change. 50’s comments were way out of line. He acted as if Alicia was targeting him. He mentioned Ice Cube in his article, but yet, Ice Cube didn’t comment. Alicia Keys is a positive artist, who only does positive things. She graduated from High School @ an early age, got accepted into Columbia University, has sold millions of albums & won grammys, & still remains level headed. So i really don’t agree with the comment about her being primadonna. That’s not her style. She had a rough upbringin too, maybe not like 50’s, but it was still rough & she managed to come out of all of that negativity & turn herself into a positive person. So 50 needs to get a clue!!! And come out with another hit album, because his last 2 were straight garbage, especially the “Curtis” album.

My boy Juan over at Highbrid Nation put me onto 50 Cent’s new beef with Alicia Keys. If you ask me he’s taking something very personally that was not directed at him at all. She even made an effort to clean it up and say she was talking the media in her comments. At this point I’m surprised 50 has any friends left because he’s always looking for a fight. Didn’t win that one with Kanye though 😉

OH MAN! shut up gorilla 50! The only thing that you can play with is a gun… Alicia is so much better than you! she has class..as against you!
