With the release of Mariah Carey’s much anticipated new LP ‘E=MC²’ today, there’s no doubt the multi-octave songstress will seemingly be everywhere this week. Carey’s first stop was the Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday. As well as performing current single ‘Bye Bye’, she spoke on, among other things, her new slim-line figure, marriage to Tommy Mottola and of course the new record. Check out the interview and performance below:
Part 2 Part 3 ‘Bye Bye’ Performance Great interview and pretty decent performance; shame about the lip-synching at the end though.

She’s vocally on point a bit too much that’s why it sounds like she liped it. But she took out her ear-piece and i don’t know why you would if you wanted to look like you were lip-syching, i’ve seen artists do it when they can’t hear themselves properly. You can tell she’s live from when she gets that rasp.

That was all live. She was pretty heavily backed at some parts, but it was still her (not a track).

Even though she was sounding skaky in the beginning, this performance certainly was not lip synced, its just a surprisingly flawless ending of the song. Make the correction….

even if she lip synched it shouldnt really matter, we know she can sing either way.
just like any other singer it shouldnt even matter because theyre still good at what they do so you shouldnt make a big deal about it.
