New Nas Album Cover

New Nas Album Cover As reported early last week, rapper Nas succumbed to mounting pressure from the media and critics alike to change the name of his forthcoming LP – which was controversially titled ‘N*gger’.
Word has it, Nas has insisted the album now be title-less so as to not fully comply with his critics. Anyway, set for a July 3rd release, the cover art for the album surfaced today. It’s evident he’s not shying away from the original album title’s message. I’m still kinda on the fence about this whole project. I guess time will tell if it works in his favour.

What do you think of the cover?

this is foolish and misguided propaganda. Nas, nor any other rapper cannot possibly relate to the physical and emotional torture endured by our ancestors during slavery. i am offended by the way he presents this image as “art” when he continues to perpetuate the very stereotypes that continue to denigrate our culture. i am a fan of Nas, but he is testing my endurance with this entire concept.

I agree w/ above. This is horrible. This has nothing to do w/ teaching ppl anything about our history and everything to do w/ shock to sell cd’s. Ppl wake up!

people are so sensitive….we may not have been beat and hurt like our people in those days but we fa damn sure still live in the s**** mentality, they fought and fought for us and we (as black people) still dont want anything for ourselves and alot of blacks out here today can be considered a big embarassment to our race (flavor flav,ray-j ect) thats what i’m getting from nas and his album title (the original one) and this picture…..now whatever else you guys are getting is on you.Watch and see whats on the album,i’m sure he’ll have alot to say.Nas is actually smart and usually doesnt have anything too retarded to say.

oh and that pic reminds me of the “you can hate me now” video

JNez if i can relate to slavery through reading the history of slavery, visiting a few s**** castles in western africa, and educating my children about slavery why can’t rappers like Nas relate? Nas has been to Africa many times so I’m sure on one of those trips he got to see at the least the s**** castles since a lot of tourists go there. The cover is different but what really matters is the music and so far none of the released tracks from this album have grabbed my attention.
