Mariah Lines Up Third Single

Published: Wednesday 4th Jun 2008 by Sam
Mariah Lines Up Third Single According to Mariah Daily, the third official single to be lifted from Mariah Carey’s ‘E=MC²’ will be ‘I’ll Be Loving You Long Time’. At a press conference held during the 38 year old’s promo blitz in Japan, she confirmed that the video will be shot in Hawaii later this week. Chris Applebaum, who directed Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ as well as Mary J’s ‘Just Fine’, will be directing the clip. {Source}

No surprises there, seeing as she performed the song at the MTV Japan VMA’s last week. ‘I’ll Be Loving You Long Time’ is one of my favourite tracks from the, otherwise, lackluster album, so I’m glad it’s getting the single treatment. Saying that, the likelihood of the smash-in-waiting ‘Migrate’ being as big as it could be is lessened with each other single release she places before it. At this rate, I really can’t see ‘E=MC²’ having as much longevity as ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’…it seems after ‘Touch My Body’ the project ceased to be handled properly. Yes, she’s everywhere, but the single release order is baffling to say the least.

i agree all the wrong singles r being chosen. I think that TMB was and will b the only number one single.

Seriously…she needs to release MIGRATE, I WISH YOU WELL, AND THAT CHICK..IF SHE WANTS TO KEEP THIS ALBUM ALIVE…………WHO THE HELL IS PICKING HER SINGLES?????????

  4. Anonymous June 4, 2008

Personally that is one of my favorite joints from the album. So I am happy with that choice, it is a feel good song and may be that why it was chosen as a single being that summer is a feel good time of the year.Side bar Sam I understand this is your blog but your opinions on certain topics are way off . In February you said TMB was a horrible single and Feedback was the business You also said Just fine would do well on the pop charts You also continue to doubt Rihanna and she is doing well so that means you can’t tell what is a hit or miss so some comments are unnecessary unless you can provide facts.

^Sam isn’t some all-knowing God you know lol He just gives his opinions on whether he likes a song or not, just because he likes something and it doesn’t become a hit that doesn’t make his opinion invalid. What a completely retarded thing to say

I agree with the other poster. Sam your always hating on MC nowadays so I’m not surprised. E=MC2 does have longevity so hate on haters..

I seriously think that it’s a mistake to have that track as the third single off the album. i mean seriously, that song is uninspired and sounds rushed. mariah even admitted that it was one of the last tracks written for the record. so please, if anyone from mariah’s camp is reading this, PLEASE CHOOSE ANOTHER SINGLE.

I agree that the record is handled very poorly now, partly because of that hoopla wedding. bleh.

    oh whatever hating on mariah

e=mc2 is the best thing she’s done in years and you’re still not impressed? pfft. she’s given us a lot more than any other artists around today and she’s still continuing to be great.

better than that old h** madonna anyway, but you probably love her ;S

    Um..WTF Mariah?

I don’t know what she’s doing with her life and this album. TMB…meh for a 1st single when it obvi should’ve been Migrate. Bye Bye? Urm, not really single material, but you know, it’s gonna slide as a Top 20..MAYBE Top 10 hit on the BB Hot 100. But this? Nowhere Mariah. NO-Where. Migrate? Thanx 4 Nothin’? Something else besides this.

Personally, I don’t think ‘Migrate’ is a good look for Mariah at 38 years old. Popping bottles and hitting 5 after-parties in one night? Seriously? Naw, it’s a cool album track and would be a good single for another artist but not her. If you take the same beat and vocal production/arrangement but change the lyrics to something more mature like love or something, it would be hot for her to release. People already hate on her for trying to stay 22 forever so why entertain that, ya know? LOL. Plus since she has absolutely NO rhythm, why release a club track? She can’t even bob along when she performs it.

As far as ‘I’ll Be Loving You’, I think it’s a good single choice. Should’ve been her second single instead of ‘Bye, Bye’ which was a horrible choice. It’s upbeat but not too upbeat that she might have to dance. Then she should’ve dropped ‘I Stay In Love’ or ‘FOr The Record’ to get that We Belong Together vibe going. Oh well. The CD is just okay for me anyway so I could really care less what singles she releases. I’ve already moved on from it and onto something else. She got my $9.99. LOL.

    Seriously Migrate and Side Effects!

  12. Anonymous June 4, 2008

@ brandon charles-why is lovemore mature????

E=MC² is Mariahs best album in my eyes, even better than TEOM, so I believe it will have longtivity

I for one love Migrate to death i play that song heavily its one of my all time faves, but I think due to the negative feedback fans and listeners had to it they might not release it. almost every gossip blog panned that song. IMO the single order should have been

    Touch My Body
    Migrate
    That Chick
    I Stay In Love
    Cruise Control

It should be not a damn thing. Those things all sound alike.

What’s up with Mariah and the way
    she’s choosing her singles? Did
she think that since she did so
well on The Emancipation of Mimi,
she didn’t have to try that hard
for this album? I hate the way
she’s going on about this album with the singles she’s choosing.
She should be releasing the best
of the album, not the songs that are simply ‘ok’. Songs like
    Migrate with T-Pain, Side Effects
with Young Jeezy, For The Record, & I Stay In Love, should be released, those songs have the
capability of hitting the top 10 & number 1 on the billboard hot 100.
