As R&B songstress Brandy continues to mould her much anticipated new album – her first under new label Epic, a track, said to be from the record, has surfaced. Produced by The Underdogs, ‘The List’ is a well crafted cut that sounds unlike much of what is dominating the musical sphere at present – a good or potentially not so good thing, I guess. If the track, which features Brandy’s trademark vocal arrangements and harmonies, is indicative of the LP’s overall direction, I’m even more amped for her record than I previously was. As though ‘selling’ is no doubt a priority, there has always been something qualitatively that sets Brandy apart from the pack – even if her sound isn’t as readily serviceable to commercial radio as, say, your typical Rihanna track. Anyway, enough of my babbling…Hit or Miss?

I’m not really happy with this song at all. I was hoping she could come out better than this. I’ve followed her career from the beginning, and while I wasn’t a fan of ALL of her music, I do consider her a great artist, and this track leaves somthing to be desired. Full Moon was her best vocal work in my eyes. Bring back the Vocals BRANDY.

I don’t think THE LIST is first single worthy. It is different something we expect from Brandy but not the best single. Big fan of Brandy. This is only a buzz single thank god cuz she can certainly do betta.

Real talk, I think eversince Christina A. Beyonce & Alicia came on to the scene, I think I have been exposed to what The Perfect Artist should be, and I always looked at Brandy as an Okay singer, She’s cool but I wouldnt pay to see her Live, I wouldnt even cop a CD from her. Not then and not now either. At that time when Brandy and Monica was the hype, I was all about Maty J. & Mariah really.

Nowhere near feeling this. After the success of Afrodisiac, this does nothing to follow up. That had to be one of my favorite albums by her. I don’t know, it was like those songs appealed to my emotions. This is like, “duh duh duh duhhhhh.”

A bold effort, but it gives me a headache after a while. With the slightly messy production, it’s hard to tell the difference between the verses and chorus.

Love, love love this song! Her songs have this hypnotic effect…it’s definitely her vocal arrangements. The girl is in a league of her own and so many have tried to copy….chris brown, ciara, kelly rowland…list goes on and on. most of them list her as their inspiration. anyways, i just hope she starts to get the credit that’s due because homegirls is straight fiyahhh!

Best wishes to Brandy on her new cd. For the person that said “is a new day in music and singers from the 90s have had their time and the industry has moved on”, you need a reality check or a brain scan. Real talent never goes out of style, neither does a legends signature style. Where do you think these new singers/rappers are getting their materials and sound? Its coming from the established artists that took the risk and laid the foundation before them. Everyone from Beyonce to Rihanna to Keyshia Cole is biting off the style of someone that came before them. There is none today with an origianal act or sound. With cutting edge material, any major talent from any era has a chance to win over new audiences like any other. Chile, Free your mind and the rest will follow…

Very well said. Couldn’t have agreed more.
