The video for Solange’s brand new single ‘Sandcastle Disco’ premiered on MTV’s great new show FN’MTV a few hours ago. Directed by Ms. Knowles herself, the clip, put simply, is awesome! Great song, even better video. For those in doubt of the legitimacy of Solange’s sound/image this go round, this should silence them. Good stuff.

I am also co-siging the comment made about Solange getting a 2nd single video release before the album came out unlike Kelly…More power to her for being smart and switching labels…I think it’s proven to help her. Hopefully Michelle learned from Kelly’s flop and I think she has since she is working on pushing 2 new singles at the same time.

I loooove this song its been my ringtone for about 2 weeks now and the video waas wat i expected and didnt…the carefree'ness and the creativeness was fantastic…there were snippets of her that really played up the beyonce similarities but i loooove this video ..its soo fresh & exciting…what music should be!!

a lot of yall are wreckless and ragged for the comments that yall are leaving…….. Most of yall know what you are talking about……. I feel like you should really invest in good music like this. Solange is the most charismatic ive seen in a while. Something so special pops about her appearance and personality. and like someone saide before… this video is sick! She really took us out the box and the video is really entertaining. The fashion was off the chain. The conceptof showcasing herself was great. Solange is really doing her thang……..im gonna have to cop her album on iTunes and get a cd.

Some of you need to CHILL with the comparisons in treatments [Between her, Michelle, and Kelly]. Their records are DIFFERENT [sound different]. Some people are more interested in her sound than the other two ladies [It doesn't take away from their talents]. Because she DIRECTED this video and co-directed the first, that is money saved from her budget. This is my favorite song from her CD. I’m satisfied with the vid. She appears confident, playful, and beautiful. I love the outfits and colors. Her attitude turned me off for a second. This video redeem some of my interest back.

Best video I have seen in years from a female. Solange is going to climb the charts when that album releases. Hate all ya’ll want but the girl is a big threat and she is very business savvy. I love her style, music, and swag. This video is nothing like Beyonce’s lame green light song. It’s 10x’s better. I knew Solange had it in her. She isn’t stupid and she isn’t going to let anything/ anybody (including her dad) hold her back. Solange will be everywhere….mark my words.

Open letter to Solange,
Do not be different for the sake of being different. You must put a merchandising angle to your retro look and sound, i.e., bumper sticker, catchphrase, or slogan. Otherwise, your look and sound may fade fast if the public cannot apply relevance for the change.

I don’t like the song or the video. No hate intended, I don’t know what the rest of ya’ll heard, but this song is stupid! This song is not a classic, and is sure as hell is not worthy of being a single.

I just love this song…its so fun and exciting, its a breath of fresh air…it doesn’t make me want to get up and go have sex with the next guy i meet( not that i would do that)lol!!! I can see how some ppl would believe the song is stupid depending on your level of thinking no disrespect…if u just listen to the song you could probably relate!!! anywho to those who feel like the video is like her other one i think her music and videos correlate very well with the theme of soul angel it has that 60’s vibe to it…and not only is she smart but she’s creative and when you’re creative you go through phases so im pretty sure on her next album her image will be completely different which keeps the audience interested!!! So she’s # 2 on my list Jazmine sullivan is #1!

Jazmine Sullivan is a great vocalist, and has depth in her songs.
Solange is disguising amateur as depth (which is hard for the younger crowd to pick up on, as depth.
to be quite frank, the title is stupid! That is the only word that is suitable. So to the above comment, I can definitely see your “level of thinking,” oh no disrespect either. You won’t know someone is a fool until they open there mouth, you should have kept you comment to yourself.

I really like her vibe . . . she’s refreshing and fun. Her personality alone is what I like about her most . . . she knows who she is and what she wants. She seems to be learning from her life experiences and using them wisely. I think she has very talented and has a promising future ahead of her . . . Definitely buying the C.D.
