I like the Tyra show for the most part. I think that she tries to bring up controversial issues about black america, but here audience is mainly caucasian. So, it's kind of like putting your family business in the streets on national tv without having a discussion with the family. You bring out your disfunctional family member and now all of your guests think that your whole family is "that way". I understand what she is trying to do but you can't expose a problem and not tell from where the discontent comes.

There needs to be some awareness to people of color about the issue of skin bleaching. Statistics extrapolate that around 87% of all dark skinned individuals experience uneven skin tone and dark spots due to hyperpigmentation. It is not only necessary, but a must to use skin bleaching creams to eliminate imperfections and show the world how beautiful black can be.

Since there was this issue of people bleaching their skin with products that contain chemicals, MAKARI de Suisse has manufactured an amazing array of 100% natural and Hydroquinone Free skin care products that do not fall within the FDA’s recent proposed ban on skin bleaching creams containing Hydroquinone. The FDA’s proposed ban requires skin-bleaching formulas that contain a drug called Hydroquinone, a possible carcinogen also linked to a skin-disfiguring condition, to be purchased with a prescription due to the potential of disfiguration.

www.makari.com

Hydroquinone is the ingredient commonly used to bleach skin and it is banned in some countries (not the US yet) because it is thought to be a CARCINOGEN! Be careful people. Please.

I just want to say not all black people use bleaching cream to look lighter. Some black people suffer from severe acne and need the bleaching cream to even out their complexion. Black skin scars very easily. Not all black people hate their skin color. I wish Tyra would focus on other issues or find different ways to help the black community. I do wish the darker African Americans women could get lead romantic roles like Halley Berry.

NAOMI CAMPBELL
KELLY ROWLAND
GRACE JONES (ICON)

ALL OF THESE WOMEN ARE BEAUTIFUL! ITS SO SAD THAT PEOPLE ACT LIKE THEY DON'T EXIST. DARK-SKINNED ROLE MODELS MAY BE SOMEWHAT SMALL IN NUMBERS. HOWEVER, THEY ARE THERE. IT ISN'T A MATTER OF CELEBRITY. CELEBRITIES ARE NOT THE PROBLEM OR THE COMPLETE ANSWER. BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL N0 MATTER WHAT SHADE. UNFORTUNATELY SOME PEOPLE NEED A MAGAZINE, A MUSIC VIDEO, OR A TV SHOW TO TELL THEM THAT.
