Britney Spears – ‘For The Record’ Trailer (MTV Documentary)

Published: Friday 10th Oct 2008 by Sam

Ever sat and wondered ‘what the hell is going on in Britney’s mind’? Well, come November 30th we’ll all get the answer we’ve been waiting for. MTV will be airing an exclusive documentary on the comeback Pop princess.

“For the Record” documents a three-month period of Spears’ life earlier this year, including sessions for her upcoming Jive album, “Circus,” and preparations for her appearance on MTV’s Video Music Awards.

An MTV spokesperson says “no topic was off limits” during the interviews.

“I sit there and I look back and I’m like, ‘I’m a smart person. What the hell was I thinking?,'” Spears says at one point. “I’ve been through a lot in the past two or three years and there’s a lot that people don’t know.” {Source}

There’s no doubt the world’s eyes will be on this one. (Sidenote: This will inevitably be great press for Britney in the run up to her new album, ‘Circus’ December 2nd release.

It will be interesting to hear from Britney herself, explaining her own life problems from a couple yrs bk now, So this could be an interesting watch because it’s seems like Britney will be doing the talking, rather then all these stupid programmes talking about her and her breakdown period, seems like she’s on the right track, which is good but I still think the record is Crap

This will definitely be a big step for Britney. I can’t wait for her to let the world or the people that are interested in her and her well being to know what she’s been going through behind closed doors these past 3 years.

But I love her song and so far things are looking good for her. I hope she continues to stay on track and conitnues to keep the RIGHT people by her side.

SAM, GET IT RIGHT – THIS B**** BRITNEY AIN'T THAT BIG IN U.S. NOMORE. IT IS ALL ABOUT TABLOIDS FOR HER

THE TEENAGE FANS THAT LOVED THE 'PAST' BRITNEY HAVE GROWN UP AND MOVED ON. PPL. IN THEIR 20'S AND 30'S DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THIS B****

AND NOW EVEN THE TEENAGE GIRLS HAVE LOST INTEREST IN BRINEY AS MILEY CYRUS HAS TAKEN HER PLACE!!

SO STOP TALKING LIKE BRITNEY IS THE S***. IN THE U.S. SHE'S LIKE PARIS HILTON & LINDSAY LOHAN – TABLOID TRASH!!

I WORK IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, AND IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, JUST WATCH HER ALBUM SALES COME DEC.

  5. Anonymous October 10, 2008

Oh lets not talk about album sales…Blackout did almost 3million with NO promotion and SHITY videos! This album is going to sell like a MUTHA! Britney has such a cult following there is no denying she is a money maker for record companies!

To Anonymous that said Britney was over…. All I can do is just LAUGH at your statement. Did you not see when Britney first walked onto the stage at the VMA’s and EVERYONE stood up and gave her a around of APPLAUSE. Her fans and music peers. And for you to have the audacity and say she’s over in the US. You’re comment is a JOKE.

Lol anonymous that talked trash about britney, is that failed attempt #485?

She rock and always did, miley cyrus can’t come no where near britney spears. Like there’s an entire universe between those 2..and brit’s on the good side

this will be very interesting and i cant wait for circus..love Womanizer:D gonna be a smash

I can kind of understand where Anonymous at 10:50 is coming at, I am not speaking for all the young britney fans but I was like 11 when Britney hit the scene, I was a huge huge Britney fan, brought all her albums, had her posters on my wall.

I even went as far as writing to her lol, not like she responded and Britney was the first artist I ever saw in concert nearly 8 yrs, I am 21 now and kind of growed out of her music but I still like most of her songs from bk in the day,but I admit to losing interest over the years because I keep hearing about her in the tabloids more then the music she has made or done in the past years, has taken over the great popstar she was at her prime, which makes her now seem annoying.

Theres a lot of buzz for Brit right now and she still has some hardcore fans but Blackout didn’t sell that well like her previous albums and most of her fans back in her prime were around my age, loads of my friends at school liked her when I liked her, when she was at the top, era late 90’s eary 2000’s.

Time will tell if she has that staying power, but she could start of well and not to do so good with the next lot of songs, people feel sorry for britney and this whole cheer for brit return is like a media phrase right now, like its the fashion to like britney now that she better.

Not hating on britney but hearing and seeing her very day on blogs and on entertainment programs can get too much and is very annoying, when that same person is always in your face

To Anonymous 12:00…… I understand what you’re saying but I honestly didn’t let any of Britney’s personal life affect me. This might be hard for some to believe but I’m 26 years old. I was a die hard fan back in the day when she first came out and I consider myself to be a loyal fan at this moment but I won’t buy mutiple copies of her albums like I use too or buy posters, etc I feel that Britney has went through her hardship and it’s time for her to return to what she loves to do. I believe she deserves a second chance and I beliebe she, her management team, Jive, family, is gonna make sure Britney is back on top of the world. Britney will definitely be a SUCCESS STORY. When she came out with “Blackout” she wasn’t all there mentally, physically, etc But right now I believe she is in a good place and I have faith in her and I believe America will love her all over again.

    love her

Britney is the past. Her album’s dropping at the same time as Ciara’s and Beyonce’s. There’s no way Britney is gonna match up with that.

I agree there’re lot more artists with more substance and style. Britney’s style and music has always been the same – it’s boring now – the same beats, the same music. Have u heard ‘womanizer’? Same ol’ BORING

  12. Anonymous October 10, 2008

I feel as if white celebs have it mad easy they can shave their heads have a fit some their private part and yet people want them to be the best while we bash whitney houston micheal jackson janet jackson ans so on

Britney is just like beyonce when it comes to lyrics why support someone who lips i rather support bee and ciara then britney spears let the white media hype her up and lets hype up brandy

  13. Soufian October 10, 2008

What’s skin colour got to do with it for gods sake, look at the person … if you don’t want them to look at skin colour..then start with yourself :s

Who ever said that Ciara is competition for Britney is delusional and asenine.
to put those 2 in competion is an insult Britney is a world wide superstar and living legend while Ciara has yet to make her mark in the industry. She’s not an international star like britney. Beyonce’s new songs are terrible if you read the initial responses the general consensus has been that its terrible good luck to her. and lastly Britneys song was #1 on iTunes in under 24 hours and still is. Britney is not over. Never have never will.

  15. Anonymous October 10, 2008

this last post is so stupid “wihlove”- u are crazy trying to imply that britney is bigger than ciara n beyonce

get over it!! – britney aint the same anymore, she is past her prime-peek!!

  16. fireprince07 October 10, 2008

What he means is that African Americans do not get second chances like Britney Spears when they make bad decisions. The media is publicizing Britney Spears new album. The media is helping Britney Spears create her comeback story. Britney Spears has a good management team, because they will not let her fail. How many artists get their video promoted on 20/20 without an interview?

  21. Anonymous October 11, 2008

    THAT IS SO MADONNA.

    CAN ANYONE SAY COPY/PASTE ??

MADONNA DID THIS A LONNNNNGGGGG TIME AGO WITH HER AMAZING DOCUMENTARY “TRUTH OR DARE”

WITH THE HUGE DIFFERENCE THAT MADONNA GOT AND STILL HAS A PURPOSE AND SOME SUBSTANCE .

BRITNEY IS JUST STUPID AND A R*****. LOOK AT HER FACIAL EXPRESSION. SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE’S GOT A NOODLE IN HER BRAIN.

I LOVE THE “AND THE WINNER IS…” PART SINCE SHE ONLY GOT LIKE 3 VMAS IN ALL HER CARREER.

WELL AT LEAST IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE THE VIEW OF A DUMB PERSON.

  22. Anonymous October 11, 2008

    ^^^^LOL
“she’s got a noodle in her brain”

    I agree with you 100%

TO THE PERSON BRINGING UP RACE, PLEASE SHUT THE F*** UP!

BLACK ARTISTS DON’T GET SECOND CHANCES, PLEASE STOP

WHAT THE HELL DID BRITNEY EVEN DO????? ALL SHE DID WAS HAVE A FEW PROBLEMS IN HER PERSONAL LIFE. SHE DIDN’T ALLEGEDLY M***** YOUNG BOYS, SHE DIDN’T ALLEGEDLY P*** ON UNDERAGE GIRLS, I THINK YOU KNOW WHCH TWO BLACK PEOPLE I’M TALKING ABOUT THERE (AND I LOVE MICHAEL JACKSON btw) PEOPLE STILL LOVE THOSE TWO BLACK PEOPLE, SO WHAT EXACTLY IS YOUR POINT.

YOU GOTTA START LOOKING PAST THE COLOUR OF PEOPLES SKIN, IT’S SOOOOOOO TIRED.

AND BEFORE YOU ASK, I’M BLACK MYSELF

and britney’s my n****…….get them britney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Anonymous October 12, 2008

I will remind you that Britney showed her private parts and acted crazy. Janet showed her breast and America boycotted her music (MTV). MTV was not trying to do any documentaries to help promote Janet’s album. I love all people. I am a fan of Britny’s music.

  25. Anonymous October 12, 2008

You do not have to be so hostile. I will repeat I am not racist. I was just giving my opinion. I think MTV and the media is trying very hard to push Britney Spears comback story. MTV decieded not to play Janet’s videos after the superbowel. However, they can show Britney’s video and promote her comback story after she went crazy, bad parenting, and showing her private parts. I just notice that Britney Spears can do no wrong. While some artist have to struggle to get back on top like Janet.

  26. Anonymous October 12, 2008

I am not talking about people who are suspected of committing crimes like Michael Jackson and R Kelly. I am talking about people who made a mistake, and the media not embracing them after their accident. Why do some people get redeem for making bad decisions while other are ridiculed?

  27. Anonymous October 12, 2008

sorry if you thought I was hostile..

T.I bought silencers and just did an interview with CNN, (telling his story, just like Britney is doing here)…made chart history…..(I like him too btw, I support my black people always)

I don’t know why you’re saying that whites have it easier than blacks, thats a given, it been this way forever, just stop complaining about it!! We don’t need white media to treat us nicely…we got this!!!!

btw…it’s only now that it seems as if the media is being “easy” on Britney by lettin her tell her story, you’ve got to remember the months and months of not very nice treatment Britney got from the media….they built her up then tore her down…so she didn’t exactly have it “mad easy”

  28. Anonymous October 13, 2008

I am not complaining. I know life is not fair. Everybody has to make the best out of the opportunities given to you in order to succeed. I like Britney’s music. I just never saw so much advertisement for one artist before. I am going to leave this topic alone. I got better things to talk about. I understand your viewpoint. I guess she has a lot of contacts and people that invested in her career. I hope she makes her comeback.
