From The Vault: Syleena Johnson – ‘Hypnotic’

After a lengthy spell on the bench, this week sees the return of our From The Vault feature – with Syleena Johnson’s 2005 hit ‘Hypnotic’. Her most ‘commercial’ offering to date, the track – which was lifted from her ‘Chapter 3: The Flesh’ LP – was on constant rotation of the ‘Grape Juice iPod’ (lol). An awesome track, with a pretty decent video (though, correct me if wrong, Syleena looked a little ‘uncomfortable’ at times…oh well):

Good stuff.

the first anonymous is a pure hater. syleena is super s*** and sings her ass right off!
i think she was uncomfortable cos they were making her do stuff thats just not syleena. i always felt this. she’s much older than her age. so not that rap and b******* chick…
i heard great new stuff from her which will probably (and sadly) not see the light of day if someone with money doesn’t bankroll her new album as she is no longer with jive.

I am a big Syleena Johnson fan. Yes, she does have a new album coming out in stores on January 13 AND released on iTunes December 23 – I GOT IT!!!

I love the album – nothing but a woman who can sing and write – sharing it with the world. She has her own record label now, Aneelys Records and moving forward in new ‘chapters’ of her life – new wife and mother as well.

I love to see strong black women succeed so she gets my support!!!!
