New Song: Beyonce – ‘At Last’
As some of you may know, Beyonce will be starring as legend Etta James in the anticipated ‘Cadillac Records’ movie this December. Unsurprisingly, Ms. Knowles covers James’ career-defining song ‘At Last’ in the movie and similar to her previous film showings (i.e. Dreamgirls) her version will also be released.
Say what you want about her, but she definitely did the song justice. Not as great as the original, I must add, but still a commendable effort. Good stuff.

Yup a really good cover that stays true to the original, but still showcases B’s unique voice. Christina Aguilera has also covered this song many times her career. If you can get past the excessive ad libbing they are impressive, too. She has alot of them, but I like her performance at VH1’s Men strike back the best. It’s worthwhile to check out.

Beyonce can sing, so I knew it would be good and I’m glad she kept it classical and close to the original.

THANK GOD she didn’t overkill the song. Glad she keep it simple and yet classic. Good job Bey, and this is coming from one of your worst “critics” lol.

She did the best she could with the voice she has. Beyonce’s voice is nothing like Etta James’. It just doesn’t have that heft. Her’s was a decent rendition. Phenomenal? No. Decent? Yes. I have heard Christina Aguillera’s version. She kills it. Some may not agree(and that’s O.K.)but I have always thought that Christina A. was a better vocalist than Beyonce. A better writer as well. A better artist period. If she were black she could have played Etta James. I don’t know if she can act though. Then again,I’m STILL waiting for Beyonce to emerge as an actress. She has two chances coming up to show the world that her popularity is not the only reason she get’s film roles. I would like to think that if she sucked they would not have cast he;but it is Beyonce. The world seems to think that she can do no wrong, but I’ve seen her do wrong in four films already.

wow – i love dc3 and i must admit that bey isnt my fav (ms kelly is) but i realize that bey is a damn tornado and she def has the looks and voice to back it – acting wise carmen was weak and all of her films have been just ok but dreamgirls was where i really saw her step up and handle business – oscar worthy? no but a great performance from bey – a singer turned actress so u cant say that she has no acting ability at all cuz thats a damn lie!!! and IHAVETOBEHONEST about that

Very nice, but it felt like it was missing something. Needed more high note and long notes

Christina Aguilera did this song more justice. Beyonce is not that great of a singer. Her sister is more entertaining than her.

Correction people….Christina is a better singer than Beyonce, but by no means is she a better vocalist than Beyonce! There’s a big difference.
