‘Never Ever’, the official first single to be lifted from Ciara’s forthcoming ‘Fantasy Ride’ LP, made it’s debut today, a day earlier than expected. The whimsical Polow Da Don produced cut, which samples Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes ‘If You Don’t Love Me By Now’, is a mid-tempo which I envision doing well at radio. However, as a first single, I’m kinda iffy on this one; it just doesn’t have that ‘ummph’ we’re used to hearing from Cici – especially as a lead single. Time will tell if it was the right choice going with this.

Yes, I do know, “Promise” worked, but to me that was a once in a time thing for Ciara. I mean I guess this song is catchy, I do like it more than “Go Girl” from a first listen, and it follows Ciara’s mold= songs featuring rappers.
Time will tell how good or just in general the success of this single. Ciara better hope it is enough to allow her CD to not get pushed back again, and that it helps the CD sell…. : /

Ciara can do dance songs in her sleep and its good to see her doing something out of the box from what is expected.

Good Job Ciara. It was safe nice smooth vibe and cute. Its radio friendly and clubby just like Love in The Club. I just cant wait for video cus if she did what she did in Go Girl to that type of midtempo I could only imagine! I can see UK eating this up and the regular Joe schmoe. Its a hit!
sample was done beautifully! I hope Ciara can belt out some notes here and there. That really would have made the song. Thats what she is missing vocally. She did it in Promise and people loved it this not so much and thus people having doubt in her vocals. Live Performances will prove differently. Imagine the video!!!
Ok, I’ve never been a huge fan of CICI, but I have purchased her previous albums as she did come out with songs that I did really like. However, this song is TRASH!!! This song for me shows how weak her voice is and the only saving grace for the song is Jeezy, and he can’t even save it. CICI could do alot better. I think that there is something missed with the choice of the first single for the Fantasy Ride, perhaps she was better to launch the belt with Justin.
