Cherish Split; Twins Form Duo

Cherish Split; Twins Form Duo
Following the poor performance of Cherish’s sophomore LP ‘The Truth’, which dropped last year, it appears the sister group have parted ways with each other (as well as their label Capitol Records). This news comes as twin sisters, Fallon and Felisha, who fronted the group, revealed that they have formed a duo, aptly called Fallon & Felisha. The pair have reportedly been in the studio with producers Bryan-Michael Cox, Eric Hudson, Don Vito, Adonis, among others.
By clicking the link below you can listen to a new track by the duo called ‘Infected’ on their MySpace. Listening back to the cut had me very sceptical about where exactly these girls are going with this group, as the song sounds strikingly similar to the material they churned out with Cherish. (Good) Material being one of the group’s biggest problems as well as a major lack of individuality/uniqueness among the members (try naming all 4 members of the group off-head…LOL). Still, it’ll be interesting to see where this duo idea takes them.

This seems like a side project! On the MySpace it says, "Fallon & Felisha (of Cherish)" so unless they just did that so people [somewhat] knew who they were, I think it's a side project. Plus how do you break up from your sisters, if so THAT spells lame to me!

Cherish was a SAD girl group, they were just mediocre, and never came with something other artists weren't doing! And being sisters with mediocre voices, you MUST do something out of the ordinary to keep your place in the Industry…

See, this could be a cathy song, and people could liek it, but it's lacking in the production, and they don't sing it in a way to want you to 'love' the song IMO. Next try, maybe!

I love this song. I think that’s it’s messed up that Capitol dropped them because that album was really good and it didn’t get promoted the way it should have. But artist have to realize that “what your label won’t do, you have to do for yourself.” And ppl please don’t start with why is only just them. it’s only just the twins because one just got married and the other has a family to take care of. I really hope this song does something for them.

I’m not going to lie: I loved The Truth and still play it at least once a month. I don’t care if it was a little generic, it puts me in a good movie. Especially I Ain’t Trippin

Am I still the only person who thinks the twins and the older sister Farrah (the big one) sound just like Mya? And could Neosha (the ugly sister who looks like D. Woods from DK) even sing? I swear I never heard her sing. I guess she was their “Michelle” lol.

-Sorry poo poo but one of them started off with a family so thats no excuse the other one well who cares and werent there only two of them singing anyway?
I mean Im not hating or anything
but also they album The Truth couldhave gotten promoted way better besides looking at it on Myspace if u have a myspace page I only knew who Cherish was due to a former friend of mines is supposely be dating the eldest sister Farrah whose suppose to be with child again but thats just word of mouth but it might be true but hey do you ma! I have both their albums and its not too bad just bad promotion and who the heck is dressing these girls the weaves r over the top and the clothes, well you see it the second album is like an album that should have came out like….possibly 8-10 years ago it wouldve been a hit then, too bad they were just 8 and 10 then..lol well better luck next time. a setback could mean a better chance at a good comeback, Good Luck Ladies and do you!

    http://aris-dance.com/news/fallon-and-felisha-of-cherish-release-a-vimeo-message-for-their-fans/

Atlanta, Georgia – (September 10, 2010)- A new single, “Lights Out”, will be released September 28, 2010 by recording artists Fallon and Felisha. “Lights Out” is a club-banging, fist-pumping tribute to being young and alive. It sets the party mood for anyone who wants to dance and embrace the moment. As Fallon describes it, “It’s one of my favorite songs to perform. I think our fans will appreciate the energy!”

Fallon and Felisha have had an impact on the music industry for many years. They started their careers alongside their sisters, Farrah and Neosha, in the popular R&B group, Cherish. Their debut album “Unappreciated”, received much critical acclaim. It was certified gold and debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, making them one of only a few R&B girl groups to hit the charts top five in almost a year. Their hit single, “Do It To It,” landed the number twelve spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 and was listed on many other Billboard charts including the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

The twins are currently building on the success and experience they had with the group Cherish and are now expanding their artistic genius toward a broader audience. In Felisha’s words,” I’ve always had a love and passion for pop music. Music, to me, is supposed to reflect who you really are, reaching across genres, and relating to individuals from all walks of life”.

Through their lyrics, they share insight into being young and dealing with relationships. They are inspired by an eclectic mix of artists, and drawing upon that inspiration they are ready to relate to a diverse group of people. In this new decade of a continuously changing music industry, Fallon and Felisha are ready to begin a new era.

The new single “Lights Out” will be available for downloads on iTunes, Amazon M**, Rhapsody, Napster, MySpace, eMusic and http://www.fallonandfelisha.com online store. The official website is also set to launch September 28, 2010.

Y DID BEYONCE’S NAME COME UP IN THIS??? Y PPL ALWAYS TRYNA COMPARE EVERY FEMALE ARTIST TO BEYONCE?? U THINK THEY WORRIED BOUT HER?? YALL NEED TA LET THAT S*** GO…BUT N E WAY I THINK CHERISH IS A REALLY GOOD GOOD GROUP THERE CD UNAPPRECIATED WASN’T BAD AT ALL SO…..OOOH, SHOW N TELL, AND WHENEVER R MY FAV SONGS ON THERE I WISH THEY WOULD’VE GOT MORE ATTENTIO THEN THEY DID…ITS HARD TO STAND OUT THESE DAYZ…GOOD LUCK TO THA DUO…..

Fallon could do fine solo. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT…compare her to anyone else. The girl has a beautiful voice and is a gifted song writer. “Amnesia” off of “The Truth” album goes in. The main problem here is the people backing her and Cherish. Capitol Records wants artists who are easily controllable. These girls may have been innovative and they labels do not respect innovation all the time. Most of these “great” artists who you think are so untouchable got that way because they are docile and submissive to the label, marketing specialists, make up artists. In the case of Beyonce (since someone had the nerve to bring her up)…she basically lied her way to the top and she’s still lying like a m********* in order to stay on top….from songs she wrote…to faking giving birth to a baby. Some females will do anything for attention and some wont. Cherish obvious isn’t that goddamn hungry for it which IS A GOOD THING. Always respect yourself first. F*** a label, f*** fame, f*** chump change…if you’re going to get rich, get rich being yourself and helping others with your music or whatever talent you have. Don’t sell out. Quit and fall off the radar rather than sell out.

I use to know these young women personally. My ex-husband actually produced a few tracks for them when they were alot younger.

It’s weird and very sad that some people are free with negativity. All of these young women are talented and beautiful. And you know what, my son has a crush on Neosha.

I will say this, the music they put out was nice, but never did their voices any justice. I’m positive we’ll hear from them again.

I am very proud of them, as I’m sure their parents, Charles and Lynn, are too. Oh, and let me not forget their brother. I’m sure he’s proud of them too.

I pray they’ll keep pressing on.
