Ciara stopped by BET’s 106 & Park yesterday to talk about her new project ‘Fantasy Ride’ project. Among the discussed, the 22 year old spoke on her collaboration with embattled label mate Chris Brown, a track called ‘Turntables’ and whether it will remain on the album, the LP’s release date (please believe it has changed again!) and more. Though Ms. Harris always comes across pretty well in interviews, these constant push-backs of her album don’t bode all that well. Hopefully everything works out with the record; for what it’s worth the radio reception of her and Justin’s collabo ‘Love, Sex, Magic’ has been pretty good.
Tidbit: I guess Chris Brown won’t be making it onto the album. Though I’m awaiting the full details in the ‘ChRihanna’ drama, it really is seeming like he’s done – his own label yanking him off his label mates album.

She says nothing about taking Chris Brown off the record. She said we would hear it a bit differently…that could mean the beat is a bit different, melody is different, more added vocals etc. Could mean all sorts of things. Chris IS done, period! His career and image will never be the same after this, sorry to say. Even if he does “come back”, it will never be the same and live up to the success his career was from 05′ – present. I just wish Ciara could hold her own more, as a solo track artist. Petey Pablo, Missy Elliott, Ludacris, Chamillionaire, 50 Cent, T-Pain, Young Jeezy, and Justin Timberlake have been featured on 8/11 of her singles.

I enjoy Ciara, Beyonce, Rihanna, Chris Brown, etc.’s music, BUT….
“Halo” is currently rising up the charts (and is number 44 on the Hot 100), and “Diva” is number 20. Those don’t spell flops to me, personally. Yeah they didn’t reach the top as quick as the last two, but what do you expect when, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” is still number 9 (charting in the Top 10)!

^Sorry to cut in but Both singles actually dropped on the charts. On the last Billboard update Diva went from 20 to 24 and Halo went from 44 to 49. Diva is a semi hit while Halo is a straight up flop IMO. I don’t think that has to do with Single Ladies still being high b/c plenty of other artists have had their second singles chart high while their first one was still in the top ten. I think the general public just wasn’t liking Diva and Halo.

I understand I just was giving peak positions. But I really don’t see “Diva” becoming a huge hit, it’s overly egotisical and to me kinda whack (not my cup of tea). I do like “Halo” though and if it doesn’t reach the Top 20, I will be surprised. Ryan Tedder is a great musician, song writer, etc. (and he wrote the song).
Take into mind that “Halo” is only in it’s 4th week on the charts. But I mean in a sense it would be funny if Beyonce’s “Im’a release two singles at one time thing gets the best of her, and doesn’t work past the first two ["IIWAB" "SL(PAROI)"]
