New Song: Omarion – ‘Comfort (ft. Lil’ Wayne)’

Published: Wednesday 25th Feb 2009 by Sam

With Chris Brown’s career currently in tatters, the male R&B market definitely seems to have an opening for a new heavyweight – (re)enter Omarion. The former B2K front-man has enjoyed limited success in his quest for solo stardom, however looks set to make another crack at the big time with his new label deal with Timbaland’s Mosely Group / Interscope imprint. While it’s unknown when exactly Omarion’s 3rd LP will drop, this new cut called ‘Comfort’ is said to be the record’s first single.
Produced by Timbaland and featuring Lil’ Wayne, ‘Comfort’, put simply, is a pretty decent mid-tempo (with a thump) which could very well prove a hit in the current marketplace – which seems to favour the repetitiveness of a chorus (“Comfort, comfort, comfort”). What’s more anything Lil’ Wayne touches these days seems to turn to gold. As to whether I like the song myself…I can’t say it moved me much.
Hit or Miss?

I think its hot! Idk if its a number 1 single but it has potential. It sounds like it was made for Brandy, the background vocals and everything sound like she woulda been all over this one

“What’s more anything Lil’ Wayne touches these days seems to turn to gold.”

Ummm, all I have to say to that is “Official Girl,” by Cassie featuring LIL’ WAYNE!!!! Released August 2008; when Wayne was hot… Didn’t even touch the Hot 100, not even the Pop 100!

This will not become a hit. At least I don't think it will. it doesn't have anything unique about it and Omarion needs to come with that, since he's always been that solo artist flying under the radar.

This is just kind of boring to me. And yes to the 2nd poster, it does sound like something Brandy should have been singing, which is really funny when you think about it. The beat is just OK, I hope Timbaland really gives him some heat when it comes to tracks because otherwise he won't sell.

This has potential to become a minor R&B hit, but I don't see it crossing over.

This wasnt produced by Timbaland directly. It was produced by his camp of producers The Royal Court who did Ice Box.
    Sounds just aight.

i like it…the beat is the hottest thing about it…and the chorus….i think people will like it….it does sound like a brandy/chris (yeah i said it) inspired track. i think the production is great….but a better singer like j.holiday could have knocked it out the park at least imo

i like the song… but i think this is a great filler song… not a No 1 hit… it’s not Ice Box.. i think he needs to come harder… cuz that rhyme Weezy spit was wack… i’ve heard him do way better.

Omarion’s vocals were good.. but i think Plies would have killed this track.. cuz honestly…when i think of comfort.. Lil Wayne is no where on my mind.. but Plies would have done his thing and we would have been “comforted”.. ohh yehh

ok, so i wasn’t the only one who had Brandy in my head when i was listening to it. I like it. it’s one of those songs where you have to listen a couple times to get the intense undertone. if that makes any sense to anyone. Brandy is good with songs like that. songs that are not outwardly bangin, but through the beat and vocal arangements you feel it.

This better not be his first single….

    The song isn’t bad…

But as a Omarion fan whose been waiting for him… He needs a hit like ‘Touch’ or ‘Ice Box’… And this one isn’t it.

HIT! I love it! If you don’t think it’s bumpin listen to the s*** in your car or stereo so you can get a real feel of the bassline. it’s the s***!
