Def Jam are giving Amerie fans a preview of what to expect from the 29 year old’s forthcoming LP ‘In Love & War’ on their website. Titled ‘Prelude to In Love & War’, the taster tracklist includes:

I must say I’m definitely looking forward to this record much more after hearing this. The atrocious first single ‘Why R U’ really doesn’t seem that representative of the album as a body of work, based on this teaser. While featuring uptempos, mid-tempos and slow jams, the LP’s sound still feels consistent and that preview flowed seamlessly. Definitely feeling ‘Higher’ and ‘Pretty Brown (ft. Trey Songz)’.

Nope. That cover, minus the animals, suggests that she's doing something new and original. Her music says otherwise. It's the same ole same ole we always get from her. The best songs sound like One Thing, which is understandable because that's her biggest hit, but they sound like blander, more predictable versions. The album is a mixture of her first and last albums.
Really liked her last, but this isn't for me. Her voice always sounds the same, the songs always lack something, and I'm doubtful about her career.

i like Higher – but for me her first album always does it for me. (And to think I used to hate her voice!)

I'm so feeling it! HIGHER is the one that is banging the hardest for me. I thnk the flow was on point from one song to the next and I'm really excited about the album.

LOL@ her sounding the same…she has her own flavor and style. GET OVER IT!!
Anyone with a GOOD ear for music and has actually listened to ALL # albums can say they all give off different vibes.

each album is different while keeping certain elements and pleasing fans of her style of music..not the trend of music!!
Some of yall need to wake the hell up! The critics and fans seem to be the only ones who GET IT! LOL
