This is the reason I think so many people would have been disappointed and the "This It It" tour could have possibly hurt the image of one of their favourite performers ever. Michael Jackson should always be remembered for what he was in his prime and not necessarily what he was in the more recent past.

I don't understand people who say it sounded bad! Are u serious??? Sounded bad??? Not many singers can sing like this live! Have u heard someone who can sing so pure, with so many emotions live? Stop joking, for real! We really missed some of the best concerts!

It doesn't sound that bad, but it's far from sounding good. People must stop praising him, just because he is MJ. He was great and he was the best, but I don't think he would've give the 'wow' he used to gave.

To all who said or have issues with how he sounded, let me say this: It was just a rehearsal for camera angles and lighting. He clearly wasn't singing to his full potential. He was simply givign direction. That was obvious. The part toward the end seemed more like the dress rehearsal, which is why his outfit was different and there were lighting effects. Jesus, some people are so critical, yet when other singers are posted on here with their real performances that were god awful, they get praised and Sam gets criticized. Guess you can't please everyone….smh

The people who are saying MJ sounded bad need to shut up. "For walls won't hold me tonight." Did you hear that? That was beautiful. Clearly, he is walking the production team through the song and is not concerned with his vocals at the moment, but you can tell he still got it.
It's obvious Pro-Tools, Auto-Tune, and all the other studio machines have warped peoples since of what live singing is suppose to sound like.

anybody saying he sounded bad is one (or all) of three things…deaf, stupid or disrespectful. He is MICHAEL JACKSON, have you forgotten that? Him at half best is still better than any new/current pop star out there. He doesn’t sound bad, he sounds like he is “marking it”…going through the motions that performers do in many rehearsals just to iron out areas and show the band/lighting/staging team his ideas….
And so disrespectful to say he is bad…can any of you who are saying this do a better job??
I say no more.
