The ‘New’ Sugababes Shoot Rauchy Video In LA

Published: Tuesday 22nd Sep 2009 by Sam
The latest incarnation of controversial group the Sugababes filmed the video for their new single ‘About A Girl’. Judging by these pics, it looks like new girl Jade Ewen will feature quite prominently in this one.
This whole situation doesn’t sit well with me at all. SMH. Check out a full report via the Daily Mail on the latest on the group after the pics…
These are the pictures that will break axed Sugababe Keisha Buchanan’s heart.
Dressed in sexy bondage-inspired outfits, her former bandmates Amelle Berrabah and Heidi Range and her replacement Jade Ewen were spotted shooting the raunchy video for their next single About A Girl.
Hours after announcing the news on Twitter, the 24-year-old headed out to the Red Bull Fashion Factory party in London on Monday night.
But after attempting to put on a brave face, she was reduced to tears in the middle of the party and had to be comforted by Oritse Williams of JLS.
Just two weeks ago, at a gig in London’s Movida, Keisha talked exclusively to MailOnline about how she had been preparing to shoot the new video, which was being filmed yesterday without her in the Santa Clarita desert just outside of LA.
The founding member of the group revealed she had given up junk food and her love of KFC to get in shape to shoot the song, produced by RedOne who has also worked with Lady Gaga.
It was on that night that rumours of a rift between the girls surfaced after Amelle failed to show up, leaving Keisha and Heidi to sing as a duo.
At the time Keisha said Amelle’s no-show was down to a close friend of hers being involved in a car crash.
But the rumour mill went into overdrive and just days later reports suggested that Amelle had quit the group following a bust-up with Keisha.
According to reports, the Sugababes’ management had this week been auditioning new members behind Keisha’s back and re-recording her vocals which feature on the group’s upcoming album Sweet 7.
It is expectedly to be hastily re-worked with Jade’s vocals before its release on November 23.
Reports in today’s Sun newspaper also suggest that Heidi was the chief plotter behind the events which tore the band apart.
The publication claimed the 26-year-old brokered a secret deal with Amelle, 25, to see off Keisha over fears her headstrong nature could cause problems as they promoted their music Stateside.
A source told the newspaper: ‘Keisha clashed with Amelle since she joined. Heidi did not want to be in a position where a big bust-up might arise while they’re promoting their material Stateside.
‘So she persuaded management a less headstrong character would be better suited to the group.’
Speaking of Keisha’s breakdown on Monday night, a source at the London Fashion Week party, in New Oxford Street, said: ‘Michelle Williams [of Destiny’s Child] was the first to share words of encouragement.
‘But it all got too much for Keisha, who started to cry in the middle of the party and Oritse from JLS had to comfort her.
‘It was heartbreaking. She felt devastated about what happened and thinks everyone thinks she’s a b***h when she did everything she could to make it work between her and Heidi and Amelle.’
Keisha’s Sugababe replacement, 21-year-old Jade Ewen, was poached from her own record label a week ago, despite releasing her single My Man only yesterday. Jade will join Amelle and Heidi Range.

A source said: ‘Jade was approached by the Sugababes’ record label Island last week and pretty much bundled onto a plane to LA on the same day, where they were shooting the next video.’

Jade represented the UK in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, singing My Time. The source added: ‘Her profile’s pretty big since Eurovision, but she felt she couldn’t say no.

‘Her own record label didn’t even know she had gone, so were getting panicky.’
Posting a message on Twitter, Buchanan, who has been in the band for 11 years, said: ‘Although it was not my choice to leave, it’s time to enter a new chapter in my life.’

I just cant support this. They have lost me as a fan. Keisha's voice was so unique and she really finished off the sugababe sound.
She was the original member and this all seems callous.
Shame on Heidi. I am not surprised about Amelle. She a rough bird that got lucky.

is this why they booted out keisha??? its so they could s** themselves up and try and sell to americans..is this what rihanna advised them to do when they met with her for advise??? this is just a disaster and feel sick to my stomach..i knew joining roc nation was not going end up good..they just managed to destroy an awesome group in a couple of months..they were a lovely group and were selling as they were..keisha, you will be ok and dont need to resort to disgusting tactics to sell records in america..i wont support them ever that keisha is gone..yuck to the new group and thier ways

    they have become whores

To be fair to them I honestly consider Heidi as an original aswell. They were famous, don't get me wrong, but their second album when Heidi joined is when they hit the big time. I consider Heidi as much of a driving force in the group as both Mutya and Keisha were.

Although I do feel sorry for Keisha. Her voice was incredible and after seeing the previous line-up live I was amazed but personally I don't think she has anything to worry about, it was only a matter of time until they went their seperate ways and tested out solo projects.

I don't think the revolving door policy Sugababes have always had has every damaged their music or image but ousting the last remaining member may have been a step too far.

  6. Anonymous September 23, 2009

the sugababes have become just a name now…

u can't really recognise them as a group, they've done too much damage to it.

2 years later, they'll problly have all new members under the name the "sugababes"
its like a brand, not a band

    Why Jade Ewen??

  8. Anonymous September 23, 2009

maybe the other girls were not happy keisha was getting more money she did most of the writting..right?correct me if im wrong. And why is Mutya saying Heidi should have left with Keisha,Keisha didnt leave when she did.Anyways who knows what happens behind the scenes,if two people fight u can give each the benefit of the doubt, but why wasKeisha the only oneto remain maybe she was trouble.JMO

This seems a total mess. If Keisha was dumped because Heidi and Amelle thought they would have a better chance at cracking America without her then I hope they flop. Not meaning to be spiteful but this just isn't fair treatment based on what has been said so far. I hope Keisha does well solo, I really think this is the beginning of the end for this band.

This sounds like many scenarios that happen to groups in America. I pray the new Sugababes do well, as well as Keisha. But I do know, what goes around, surely will come back around.

The biggest prob for them, no one in America has a clue who the Sugababes are, so good luck with that. So I guess thats were the s*** comes up at, and we dont have TRL anymore. So no one watches videos. If they dont do well on album #7 in America, they will deff be dropped my Roc Nation. Jay-Z doesn't play. Anyone remember when Teiarra Mari and Rihanna were signed at the same time. We see who is still at Def Jam.

Plus I hope the current memebers realize that they too an be replaced at any moment. The situation sucks, but thats how the music industry works. Those girls better hit up a church, cause they have alot of work ahead of them.

Those pictures are SAD! They're gone from classy and s*** to trashy in 2 singles!

  12. Anonymous September 23, 2009

is jade the girl that sang "my man"?

  13. Anonymous September 23, 2009

i really didnt want to believe this , wts gonna happen with Jade's album n single . I have a feeling that they dumped Keshia because she was black because you these days in american music videos they have light people in them . I don't know I may be wrong .

  14. Anonymous September 23, 2009

How ridiculous! How many changes they had with the band members!

Isn't Jade quiet famous with her new single my man?
I mean if i am an solo artist i would stay a solo artist. How stupid to go in a group…Jade should stay solo – i think thats better for her… maybe one day she is the one who has to leave – whats next then? They go to beyonce and ask her?! tzzz

I dont like amelles voice – she sounds like a man!
And heidi is like a snake in the grass – shes just common!

after this story i had to let my feelings flow

    luv you Keshia!

NOBODY HEARD OF THIS STUPID GROUP

LETS GET BACK TO ACTUAL, AMERICAN MUSIC…. AND NOT SOME BRITISH, YELLOW TEETH B*******

  16. Anonymous September 23, 2009

RIP to the Sugababes, they ended when Keisha left.

I can't stand that Amelle and her horrible voice.

    Heidi is an evil snake.

I feel bad for Jade because she made a huge mistake joining the Sugababes, she has ruined her image.

Keisha will be fine, whether she decides to go solo or reform with Mutya.

  17. Anonymous September 23, 2009

    I agree with that!!

  18. Anonymous September 23, 2009

@ 14:08 Shut up you stupid dickhead p****! The sugababes are one of the most successful girl groups in Britain. That is why it's big news and why Sam keeps talking about them. I'm sure you can have a break from your overweight, dumb american b******* music for a few days.

  19. Anonymous September 23, 2009

The song "About A Girl" wasn't all that great with Keisha, and now with Jade, the Sugababes are done.

And to the dumbass American that is talking s*** about Sam for sharing news about the Sugababes, I am one of those overweight dumb Americans (not actually overweight or dumb but…) that happens to LOVE THE HELL outta the Sugababes.

Additionally, this is a music new site, not an American news site. I get enough of American music news because I live in the US. DO YOU Sam!

I BELIEVE THAT NOW THIS WITH SPARK THE ENDING OF THE SUGA BABES
DESPITE THE CHANGES PREVIOUSLY MADE REGARDING GROUP MEMBERS, BECAUSE KEISHA WAS THA ONLY ORIGINAL MEMBER LEFT SHE KEPT THE GROUP GOING AND NOW SHES GONE THERE IS NO POINT IN THEM CONTINUING THEY HAVE NOW LOST ALOT OF FANS WELL UK FANS ANYWAY

  21. FASHION.DOT.COM September 23, 2009

AND AS FOR JADE SHE HAD THE REPUTATION OF BEING SUCH A NICE CARING DOWN TO EARTH KIND OF GIRL BECAUSE OF ALL THIS NOW THAT REP OF HERS IS ALSO RUINED

  22. Anonymous September 24, 2009

OH COME ON PEOPLE… give them a bloody chance first!!! we have'nt heard the reworked version of 'about a girl' yet & nobody has officially spoke on the matter yet. All of this s*** is tabloid press crap! Keisha will be fine, & to me Heidi is still an original member – THEY NEVA HAD A NO.1 SINGLE TIL SHE JOINED THE GROUP!

I'm prepared to give them the benifit of the doubt, jade's look fits the sugababes & she has a good voice.

…& to the yank who made that pathetic coment – go and look at otha blogs if u int happy, the sugababes r big here & music dont revolve around wots going on in the US!

  23. Jeffrey September 26, 2009

LISTEN UP…to the people saying heidi ‘is’, or ‘can be considered’, or ‘should be looked as’ an original member…plain and simple she is not…no matter what their success was prior to her addition, lack of #1’s or how long she has been in the group…to be an ORIGINAL member you have to be at the f****** conception of the group…alot of people were not on destiny’s child bandwagon until ‘say my name’ and didn’t know who the f*** they were until it hit #1…that does not make michelle an original member no matter how much success she assisted with making in that group…she may have been a good addition but just NO!…and if u think the addition of heidi made a #1 you are sadly mistaken…the fact that they covered a song that was already a hit made a first #1 for them…

and to 4:55, the benefit of the doubt sounds like accepting anything in this situation…if you mean by the look of the group eliminating the dark-skinned girl in favor for the lighter chick, get a grip…that’s not cool, no matter how talented she may be or if it “fits”…the fact of the matter is not accepting jade’s addition…because s*** happens…but how it occurred…keisha was a TRUE founding member and the true soul of the group…point blank.

  24. aset September 26, 2009

The Sugarbabes are officially over now…bad move getting rid of Keisha, but I think she will be extremely successful as a solo artist…they will wish they had her back. What a bonehead move to kick out the last original member…wow. Good Luck Keisha…you will definitely be the one who comes out on top of this mess.

  25. IVORY’S INTELLECT September 26, 2009

They don’t look s*** at all, imo. Artists who try and crack America usually ALWAYS fail. The ones who make it don’t even try. Changing their image to suit America will backfire. They’ll not make it over there, and then they’ll alienate the international fanbase they already have.

  26. Dee September 28, 2009

I don’t know much about the Sugababes and will probably never learn. S** will always sell, but this photo shoot looks quite boring and the leg up pic has to be the worst, just too much.
