Always Be My Baby
I actually really enjoyed these performances; that said I am wondering whether it’s because it largely consisted of older material, which she actually sounded pretty decent singing today (I had a ‘festive’ nostalgic moment listening to ‘Always Be My Baby”. Love it). Watching these though, I can’t help but think Mariah looks a little unhappy. Now never one’s to start mess, I am by no means insinuating anything (and it could simply be due to already knowing certain things i.e. that her LP ‘Memoirs’ is tanking), but something seems a little ‘off’ with her these days. On somewhat of a lighter note, Ms. Carey-Cannon clearly could not move in that dress, which – as much as I’m an advocate for loving your God-given body – was uber ill-fitting. Not a good look. Respectable vocal performances nonetheless.
Awesome performances. Yeah she looked a little off but cut her some break, her vocals sounded amazing and that’s all that matters. =)
I didn’t get the whole ‘unhappy’ thing, but she sounded good and she didn’t try to dance. Win win, go Mimi! Sam, give her a break! LOL.
she looks happy to me, i mean you can tell she is having fun . plus mariah never moves, she is as Stiff as a broom LOL, but hey is Mariah, with vocals like this she does not need to move.

Mariah still can SAAANG! I wish I coulda been in this Tribeca Stripped concert, she sounded great (Always Be My Baby got me with a big smile!).
And about the “unhappy thing”… Mariah doesn’t move since E=MC², don’t know why… I mean, she’s never been a dancer, but she used to move a little, run through the stage and have way more energy, I miss that :/ but I doubt it has something to do with her “happiness”. Thx Sam for posting, can’t wait to watch IWTKWLI 🙂

OMG! She sounded… REALLY GOOD… Maybe she’s been putting in some time with a vocal coach or something but whatever its great to hear her sound so flawless (see always be my baby!!) … something we aint heard in a long time! Welcome back MC… now just make good music like this again!

snoozefest- can she move and not just stand there/ I feel sorry for Mimi, her album is flopping so bad, she does look a tad sad. This features album that they are releasing for MOIA is a bad idea and will also flop.
She needs to just let this album go and go away. Selling 30k this week for 3 wks on the chart is not good and it will only get worse.
MCC is doing fine, trust. N E way, I enjoyed the performances, like really…she did great aa I knew she could…and Always Be My Baby, she did that!!! can’t stop listening to it…if her CD doesn’t sell like anything else, wat does she have to prove 2 any1. She still is a legend. bump record sales. ppl dont know what to say about the music industry. its a blessing she can have 12 albums. like sum artist wont even reach 3 or 4. In all due respect, B**** PLEASE! I was actually AT this concert in Manhattan which was filmed on October 5th in Tribeca and let me tell you Mariah was having a ball! She was not “sad” as you say she looks, she was having a fun time with the crowd (she was constantly telling jokes to the crowd and poking fun at her diva status, she was hilarious!) At one point she stopped singing “Always Be My Baby” because her “mic box” fell off the back of her dress and she had to re-start the entire song and she was just joking the whole time…so much fun!!! Props to Mimi!
I saw a baby bump while she was performing “WBT.” Think it was during the 2nd verse.
She did sound raspy to me, maybe that is with age, hope not to drugs or cigarette smoking!
I love old school (90s) MC songs! I’d love to hear her do “Heartbreaker” live nowadays!
I was listening to “WBT,” and hoping no matter how bad or raspy the last note sounded that she could hold it, and I felt like damn….. She can’t even hold it anymore! It was like on “Angels Cry,” I wanted her to hold it just as long, but she didn’t on the album cut. Anywho, keep working that CD MC. I didn’t prefer it, way to gimmicky and was advertising way to many items (Kool-Aid, Duncan Hines cake) rather than signature Carey songs IMO.

I must say from the reports back from the show were positive. As someone already stated Sam again you seem to be so wrong stick to improving your blog. Instead assuming something negative all the damn time. Sometimes I feel like you make comments to get things stirred up on your blog. Give your opinion that what this blog is about but be yourself stop trying to be Perez it a big turn off. As for Mrs. Carey- Cannon she did a good job, performances like this show that even the voice is not in top shape there is still something there and all is not lost.
Thank God she sang live. I was so disappointed last time she lipsynched in Korea. I really enjoyed her older songs, but IWTKWLI, HATEU and basically every song on her new album are just plain boring and generic. I want Classic Mariah back, not songs like Hateu, STanding O and TMB.
Lambs love to hype her to the max.
