Brandy is singing like she can’t hold her breath. I think Monica would have blown this out the waters. Being a perfessional you should know when and how to hold your breath and able to hold your notes. Brandy seems to be short wind on her breath control. Even with all the loud yelling that Jenifer Hudson does she would have sang this song out the water, also Fantasia, Josh Stone and Toni Braxton. It seems to me that Brandy was trying to hard.-

some of yall are stupid as hell.. Brandy has never had a problem holding a note.. chile, she has some pretty impressive adlibs in her catalog. Ignorant comments are so late. If you don’t know what you’re talking about why even start the negativity??
What’s funny to me is people start naming all of these singers who can’t even do what they are complaining about. They haven’t held a note or sang from the soul since the 90s themselves. Brandy has always been an individual artistically she doesnt just follow the croud. This is the 1st celebrity Artist as far as im concerned that would use there raw talent, no instuments beside her vocals, no make up no bright lights to prove that its all about the music
The music speaks for itself. NO ONE can say that shes lipsyncing, no one can say shes tryin to sound like anyone else. Shes DOIN her thing. Shes a true artist.

Brandy is the truth!!! I swear, this girl has so much range and diversity of sound. She could sing a gospel song with the best of them, follow-up with a bubble gum pop song, and finish off with an R&B ballad all in one breath – few can carry that weight.
It’s a shame that people throw Brandy so much shade, considering how long (and strong) she has been in the game. Brandy is a world-class vocalist who often does not over sing her songs, so she releases these videos because 1.) she’s an artist and knows that art does not have to be sold in order to be produced and appreciated, and 2.) she needs to remind people that she can actually sing (because people tend to forget). Go’ head Brandy, I am not made at you at all – great job!!!
**sidenote: for the comment regarding her breathing habits while singing…it’s called melismas, and the thing that makes Brandy so incredible, is that she runs through various octaves, tones, and pitches simultaneously without sounding crazy. Simply amazing!**
