Leona Performs On Dancing With The Stars

Published: Wednesday 18th Nov 2009 by Sam

Continuing along the promotional trail for her sophomore LP ‘Echo’, Leona Lewis performed current single ‘Happy’ on tonight’s episode of Dancing With The Stars. Though I’m ready for Leona to have her Mariah ‘butterfly’ moment (branch out and do something more interesting with her God given voice), kudos where kudos are due, she nailed this performance vocally.

Tidbit: The song is starting to grow on me. Still a little too ‘Bleeding Love’-esque, but not as bad as it was on first couple of listens.

What do you think of the performance?

She lipsynced many parts last night Sam. Twitter was all over it. I think she had a sore throat cuz she cancelled GMA on Monday.

She ain’t never gonna have a Butterfly moment since she doesn’t write her own material Sam.

She does write her own stuff actually. She is the main writer on 6 songs from ‘Echo’ and the co-writer of 3 others.

It is definitely still a “lil bleeding heart-esque”, but at least she can sing. I just can’t get into her much because all her songs are love songs and slow most of the time. Even the upbeat just don’t hit with me. SHe lip synched some of the stuff, but not all of it. But I don’t think she hit the high notes on her own.
