Mariah Carey Performs On X-Factor
Diva Mariah Carey’s performance of ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ on the X-Factor aired a few moments ago. While I’m almost certain parts of this were lip-synched, for the first time in a long while Ms Carey-Cannon did the damn thing! From the power belting to her trademark whistle note, this was awesome. She definitely redeemed herself after last year’s shambolic showing of ‘I Stay In Love’ (shudders at the mere mention). Nonetheless, a great performance!

I was surprised definately. Wasn’t expecting her delivery to be as good as it was, seeing as she seems to have fallen off the vocal band wagon in recent years, but I couldn’t tell if she was singing live.

Now this is the Mariah Carey I have known and will forever love!!! This sh*t was awesome!! I do not believe that she was lipsynching. She sounded fantastic! I fully agree with Sam on this one

OK MAYBE I MISSED SOMTHING BECAUSE IT REALLY WASNT THAT GOOD TO ME. SHE FELL OUT OF TUNE A FEW TIMES AND SHE LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH SHE WAS STRUGGLING SO HARD. IT WAS JUST OK TO ME. HOWEVER, THIS IS THE BEST SHE’S DONE IN A LONG TIME!!!!!

Yes it was confirmed in the news lastweek that she and Susan Boyle were going to PRE-RECORD their performances which is pretty disappointing. It was a Good vocal performance by MC too bad it was lipped.

amazing, this was live, and people you are all so dumb, this was not live meaning it was recorded last week but vocally this was live, damn mariah is back and killing it, her confidence was plastered all over, amazing vocals once again.

LOVE IT. i love how she’s beginning to be more comfortable being on-stage again. glimpses of classic Mariah i saw in that performance. wow. and she seems so happy and upbeat it’s infectious! she has to keep this up. hope her album does well in the UK!

This was the best performance of this era, but lets not get silly parts of this performance were definately lipsynched. If you would have seen it excellent quality on TV it’s more than clear that it wasn’t completely live.
But I think people have to just deal with the fact that Mariah won’t sing this particular song completely live.
Much better than her other performances of this song and she seemed alot more comfortable. Also for the first time when singing this song she seemed like she actually wanted to sing it.

Here is the thing. Sam I don’t understand how you critique singing when you have on musical back ground. If you think these performance was LIP_SYCHED it further shows your inability to critique music!! You can tell when a person is LIPING it, if you know music you don’t have to guess!! Futhermore if you didn’t know for sure, which you clearly don’t why would you insinuate that it was? Stop hating on this lady and be happy that legends such as Mariah Carey and a few others are still around!!!! Ihave you ever taken time to think this women has been singing for over 20 years now… I mean really singing…… even at her worst she is light years above the majority of artist who are producing music today!!! My advice to you is, enroll in a music fundamental class so you can at least know which notes a singer is singing before you try to criticize what is being song please!!! Because if you don’t know that anything you say is void to be who know music!!!!! Cleary by the comments throughout your blog most people are dumb to this fact. Which is fortunate for you!!!!!
