Exclusive Review: Chris Brown – ‘Graffiti’

Published: Monday 30th Nov 2009 by Sam

Chris Brown Graffiti Review

After a tumultuous year, spurred on by ‘the incident’ which reverberated around the world, R&B star Chris Brown is back and looking to reassert his place at the top with new LP ‘Graffiti’ (due December 7th in the UK // December 8th US). With the world’s glaring eyes fixated on the performance of the project, it’d be hard to deny that this is the most important record the 20 year old will ever release. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the album, Brown’s 3rd, boasts production from some the industry’s most renowned hit-makers and artists alike.

The question on the lips of many, though, is: Does ‘Graffiti’ do enough to redeem Brown in the court of public opinion? I vote ‘Yes!’, albeit cautiously…

Largely comprised of up-tempo, club-destined tracks, the 13 song set kicks off to a cracking start with the Swizz Beats produced ‘I Can Transform Ya’. Featuring Lil’ Wayne, the track– one of the album’s lead singles – sees Brown enlist rapper-like delivery in detailing how he can change the life of a lucky lady. Beyond being a rather good ode to self-indulgence, the song formally introduces the listener to a markedly different Chris Brown in comparison to the clean-cut teen who burst onto the scene back in 2005. In its place, an older, lyrically fearless, and sexually-unguarded Brown pervades the record.

Indeed, on the ridiculously catchy ‘Sing Like Me’ (produced by Los Da Mystro), Brown delivers the suggestive lyrics (“looking for a ‘right now’ don’t need no wifey”) with such subtlety that one almost forgets the risqué nature of what he’s singing (a feat only Janet Jackson has perfected better). Whilst elsewhere, the sexual undertones become overtones, on the Tank-assisted ‘Take My Time’. Ushered in by African drums, and featuring a distinct 90s R&B aura (especially the vocal arrangements), the track – put simply -oozes sex (sound effects inclusive). Put it this way, if ‘Take You Down’ (from Chris’ last LP ‘Exclusive’) had an older, more experienced and all-round kinkier cousin, this would be it.

Not to be mis-pegged as a bedroom record, the album also excels with its grittier offerings, particularly The Runners produced ‘What I Do (ft. Plies)’ and ‘Wait’, which was crafted by Polow Da Don and features Trey Songz and The Game. Brown re-enlists his rapper-esque tongue on street-anthem ‘What I Do’ (yes, street anthem), really surprising with his rapid-fire delivery. While the banger ‘Wait’ hits a home-run with stellar production, which Brown, Songz and Game ride effortlessly. The selection of Songz for the record is somewhat  ‘hit’ and ‘miss’ in that, while he compliments the track well, more times than not he and Brown sound too alike – making it difficult to distinguish who is singing. Nonetheless, a great track.

Produced by Brian Kennedy, ‘Pass Out (ft. Eva Simmons)’, is a blazing up-tempo, which should assemble clubbers of all persuasions on dance-floors across the globe. Featured is a sample of Eric Prydz club classic ‘Call On Me’, which works surprisingly well.

It is the lyrically explosive ‘Famous Girl’, however, that is undeniably the album’s centre-piece and will have MANY tongues wagging. The song’s sparse production allows for the illumination of its lyrical content – which is explicitly aimed at a certain Rihanna (yes you read right, and will want to read on!) The reflective mid-tempo sees Brown acknowledge his fault in the relationship breaking down, however there are quite shocking revelations levelled up against his one-time love. Lyrics include: “Drake would say you’re the best he ever had…everywhere we go, rumours follow…yet I still love you” // “should have known you’d break my heart” // “…you were the first to play the game…though I was wrong for cheating in the beginning ” // “I was wrong for writing Disturbia”. Brazen, naked and deeply insightful, this drum-driven cut highlights that there’s more to the pair’s story than meets the eye and ear. My jaw is still on the floor.

Elsewhere, while epic ballad ‘Crawl’ (produced by The Messengers) serves as one of the album’s standout cuts, really showcasing Brown’s matured vocals, it’s largely the LP’s slower-paced offerings which leave much to be desired. Besides not re-capturing the grandeur of ‘Crawl’ or exhibiting Brown’s artistic growth as well, tracks such as ‘So Cold’ and ‘Lucky Me’ sound as if they were placed on the record with the sole intent of garnering pity. Particularly interesting to note is the sarcastically titled ‘Lucky Me’, for in reality Chris couldn’t be any luckier to even have a record out, a fact I’m sure he should be/is grateful for. Hence, the poor-me gig could have been left on the cutting-room floor. Other tracks which could have joined it there include 80s Synth-Pop filler ‘I.Y.A (I Wanna Wake Up In Your Arms)’ and ‘I’ll Go’ (produced by Brian Kennedy) – which sounds a little too similar to Oasis’ ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ (I kid you not).

Despite its shortcomings, ‘Graffiti’ succeeds much more than it doesn’t. Brown’s newly-embraced adulthood, a recurrent theme during the album, never comes across as contrived or pretentious. Instead, listeners will eject the CD at the end of its run-time having acquired a deeper sense of who Chris  Brown is. Between the album’s highly charged up-tempo’s (which seem to have been specifically crafted with his trademark choreography in mind), mid-tempos and ballads, Brown bares all lyrically, vocally, and artistically. A great album by an artist, who regardless of the odds, is destined for great things.

That Grape Juice Rating: 3.5/5 stars

  4. Adam November 30, 2009

You’re a Rihanna hater, so of course you’re gonna side with the duche who nearly killed her.
LOL at him trying to make it all Rihanna’s fault. Whether there was more than meets the eye to what happened or not, CHRIS WAS IN THE WRONG. Rihanna could have said anything to him, swore, she could have even slapped him or pushed him and what Chris did would NEVER be justifiable. Gd luck to his next girlfriends and his morally retarded fans lmao.

    LOL@Anon.

  11. Curtis November 30, 2009

I respect that Sam likes the album so I’ll take the fact he’s a total Rihanna hater aside for now, but I can’t wait to hear Favorite Girl… so he cheated on her… she cheated on him… with Drake? And he thinks it’s all her fault and she deserved a brutal beat down, haha he’s so stupid!

Rolling Stone said this album was trash and they’re much more reputable and able to critique then Sam who likes run of the mill R&B midtempo trash… but I really liked Exclusive so we will see…

  12. Annie November 30, 2009

Chris is that bold in “‘Favorite Girl’? I gotta hear this song.

  13. LovinCB November 30, 2009

  15. Melanie November 30, 2009

The rihanna cans can leave on the door to the left.
They just mad cause chris is going at Rihanna’s head in that one song while she is blasting this boy up and down on her whole CD.
None of Rihanna’s music is going to be played in the clubs her best single is already falling off the charts.
Lets take a second to talk about the review though its very good but I also have my reservations about I’ll go song sounding like something from Oasis.

  16. TEAM BREEZY November 30, 2009

@Curtis That Rolling Stone was not a Graffiti review it was a Rihanna review take shades at Chris. WTF? that was the most biased review I have ever seen. Rihanna “Power House” vocals? “Strong” LOL Was that dude talking the same Rihanna or was he talking about someone different. He basically downgrade Chris talent. Now that was a bias review.

@HI, you mad? You upset? Are you distraught that yo girl Rih Rih flopped? I’m so sorry.

  31. Curtis November 30, 2009

LMFAO! Chris Brown fans are so funny… I really like reading their comments… Honestly I just can’t even begin to take it seriously only because it’s stupid girls (and guys) lusting after him making excuses and accepting he beat Rihanna.

I only try to litsen to level headed fans who understand what he did was wrong but will still support him, trashing Rihanna makes y’all look like… well trash. This is the best place to go if you don’t like her though… I think the reason the public still doesn’t like Chris is mostly thanks to you guys, any good he’s done the way you guys represent him in this s***** classless (yet hilarious) way does him no favors, AT ALL.. lol

and reviews are coming in and they all say the same thing even the ones that like… generic…

  32. Prestige – GRAFFITI, DEC. 8TH November 30, 2009

@Meli … yeah i saw that review too! Was that Rolling Stones? If it was, it was suppose to be a Rihanna review and the whole time I was wondering why the hell are they were talking about Chris so much!? lol…its like they had to bring him down just to big her up….smh a VERY biased review indeed, they didn’t even try to hide the fact that they were being biased…they were practically saying “buy Rihanna’s album, don’t buy Chris’, she must win” type sh*t…What kind of review talks mostly about another persons album?? anyway

    GRAFFITI – DECEMBER 8th, 2009 …. GO COP THAT SH*T!! =)

  33. Sparky November 30, 2009

It appears to be a solid cd for “what it is.” There’s no shock factor, and there’s more growth “for him.”

And can we cut it with the “shame-Chris-Brown-supporters-to-death.” It’s silly. Just because he’s forgiven doesn’t mean he lacks accountability for his actions. And it shouldn’t mean that his career should be over.

Get over the “shame campaign.” It’s not working.

  34. Addie November 30, 2009

    Curtis eat your d***
YES HE BEAT A WOMAN & WE HAVE ALL COME TO THE CONCLUSION IT WAS WRONG.
    good for you,
i’m glad you were able to figure that out all on your own.
would you like a f****** cookie for that?

    you’re pathetic.
you must care so much about his life if you’re still commenting

    Sadly for you,
    people still love him
    & he will not flop
nor will his album sell for 99cents & STILL flop.
    b**** boo bye.

  35. Mr.727 November 30, 2009

I’m not going to support a dude that shucks an jives to make money!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t respect him, I won’t support his music and this goes to show you his intelligence level! He can do all the d*** popin, dancing, but he will always be and unintelligent, pretty boi ass n****! F*** all you fooled deceived mofo’s ! I just can’t believe people want to praise this son of a b**** , after what he has done? S*** to me he is no better than R Kelly!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a f****** dumb ass with no class! When he was on CNN he talks like a 12 year old kid! That is what happen when yo mammy don’t make your ass go to school to benefit from proper grammar skills! He is a piece of s***, and a f***** abuser!!! F*** him and f*** anyone that supports this m***********!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  36. Shae November 30, 2009

I agree with @Sparky Chris is doing what he needs to do to get back to where he was and as fans its up to us whether we want to back him up or not….we love him for the music and the human being that he is…ENOUGH OF THAT…

I havent heard snippets of it but I heard that the album is really good. I think ur review is jus ur opinion..nothing good or bad, just ur opinion…and eveyone is entitled to their own. like rihanna is happy with the outcome of her album im sure Chris is equally or more happy with the outcome of his album and i will definitely be buying it and supporting him and praying that he gets back on his feet and regain those he lost ova his mistake…and i hope he really is remoseful and fix this probably so it wont eva happen again…rooting for chris #teambreezy!!!

  37. Addie November 30, 2009

    He has a 4.0 GPA,

Yes chris is talented but his album is TRASH!!! When i heard his TRASH on amazon it was no where near betta than his 1st 2 albums and no where near betta than RiRi’s Rated R album!!His beats on his albums sucks and basically he hasnt grown as a artist like Rihanna has from listenin 2 his trash filled album graffiti!! And that album review of grafitti is full of TRASH!!!

  40. Annie’ November 30, 2009

Rihanna fans from RD need to stay there. Y’all are repetitive with your sh*t.

  41. Nat November 30, 2009

i think you’re review was really well done!
you were able to have a really balanced discussion and keep an open mind!
as a chris brown fan it was nice to hear all the positives about the record and still know you were judging honestly and fairly because there were also negatives!

  42. Mr.727 November 30, 2009

    @ Addie: W**** please! I say what I want when I want

  48. Curtis November 30, 2009

Addie your so stupid, LMFAO… I love the snippets and I’m excited to hear the album, I won’t buy it but nonetheless I think I’ll enjoy the album.

Your such a stupid defensive b****. I don’t need this to taint his career in order for me to feel happy, I think he’ll recover and I won’t be mad when that happens.

You loose n**. I’m a RiRi stan but I still like Chris’ music, I even bought Exclusive so I don’t know what your arguing for… haha

  49. Addie November 30, 2009

    Shut up…

  50. tmj November 30, 2009

Chris is not blaming Rihanna for him hitting her in the “Famous Girl” song…he is talking about them cheating on each other in their relationship…a separate issue from the beating situation. Rihanna was seen kissing Kanye after one of his concerts…so it’s not shocking if she went as far to cheat on him too. Many industry insiders say that Chris and Rihanna constantly broke up and made up with each other. They probably both liked being in love with each other (both being so attractive and attention-getters from the opposite s**) but did not know how to sustain a healthy relationship.

I love practically all the songs that have been leaked/released so I know I will like the album.

  51. Annie’ November 30, 2009

Repeat – Rihanna stans from RD need to stay there. Y’all are repetitive with your sh*t.

  52. Raychel November 30, 2009

okay, im gonna really go with this one. As much as I hate chris brown for doing what he did, I still love music. So I will judge this from a music standpoint. Ive only loved one song by chris and that was forever, hec I even covered it and sent it to him, its my favorite. Heres the problem with him,his music sounds the SAME its like a repitition of exclusive and his debut. His voice hasnt matured. He could never really sing that good. He has passed it for me for being in the middle with songs that are R&B and Pop at the same time. I love music, but I dont want to listen to music that Ive felt like Ive heard before and isnt mature enough. We all know Rihanna cant sing, but really to me, that dosnt matter. Its about the music you make, and how good it is, not the presentation of it to me. I could care less if she couldnt sing, I just wanna grab my ipod and listen to good music. Her album has shown maturity. She is not really my fave artist, but her songs are so different from gggb. fire bomb and photographs are really good and show growth, her voice even sounds a little different. She’s trying new things. Chris is always gonna be the same. his music to me will never change, and die hard chris fans wont really care, theyll still buy his music and wont hear the difference. Sam and Trent are really biased. base your reviews on something other than your gay lust for this young boy or I wont be coming to this site anymore. All that aside, I hate Chris brown, but I love music. My love for music outweighs that. I would never pay to see him or rihanna. Ill just keep listening to forever. 🙂

  53. AWOLLUVA November 30, 2009

Somebody mentioned Chris having more fans than her, however let us not forget that “Good Girl Gone Bad” sold more copies than both “Chris Brown” and “Exclusive” combined, so that theory is pretty much shot out the door. And who do people keep saying she sold 160k the first week? The first week ain’t even here yet, it’s Monday you fools. We’ll know by late tomorrow/early Wednesday what the numbers REALLY are, not guesstimates.

  54. Curtis November 30, 2009

    That’s right Addie nothing left.

Anyways if this s*** gonna leak tonight, what the hell Timbaland’s did

  55. tia November 30, 2009

Good review….i hope it leaks so i can hear it…..im still gonna buy it because i love his music and sing like me is my s***……theres really no other explanation needed…..those who want to support will and those that dont wont…..no need to get into an internet argument about it.

  56. Keesha November 30, 2009

I like this review, although it may be slightly biased (in Chris’ favor). I am a Chris Brown fan saying this too. I also heard about some other review from Rolling Stone, which was SUPER biased (such a shame), but hopefully the other reviews won’t be as bad as that one.

  57. This Girl Is Just Keeping It Real November 30, 2009

    @RAYCHEL

You say you love music but on the other and you say you dont care whether or not rihanna can sing. That doesnt make sense. Music is not just about the beat or lyrics. if It was just about that, then anybody could be an artist. Music is about the voice as well. For example The reason why people give Whitney houston more praise for the song “I will always love you” then Dolly Parton is because Whitney BLEW the song out of the park with her vocals. You cant love music without loving the voice. Music and vocals are like peanut butter and jelly……. you cant have one without the other.

As for your accusation that Chris has no “growth” . I could’nt disagree more. For one, his first album certainly didnt have the maturity that “Exclusive” has. You can tell in his lyrics and vocals that he has grown from the cute 16 year old boy from VA.

His music in graffiti is alot more in depth than exclusive or is his debut album ever did.

As for this quote “He could never sing that good” hmmmm…Didn’t you JUST say you didnt care whether rihanna could sing good or not? So why are you critisizing chris’s vocals(which are waay better then rihannas)when you had just said “the music” is all that matters? (whatever than means) *SMH* Bottom line…..No one who hates chris brown should try to review his album(as you just did) the simple fact you wrote the words “I hate chris brown but…” made all of what your wrote after word null and in-void.

  58. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

    Testing!

  59. nancy November 30, 2009

@ AWOLLUVA, yeah right gggb sold more than chris brown and exclusive combined in ur dreams only gggb sold 2.1 million exclusive has sold 2 million, chrisbrown has sold 2.5 million. get ur wack ass info right

  60. Jweezy November 30, 2009

Rihanna stans on the rampage once again.

  61. TS November 30, 2009

Why is this a sticky post?

  62. Raychel November 30, 2009

@ This girl is just keeping it real
First of all, Music is not just about the singing. When you put a song on replay, Your listening to the beat and the flow of the song. Its not just about their voice. Casse cant sing worth a leak, but me and U is still on replay on my ipod. Whitney houston remade dolly parton’s I will always love you and put her style to it. The styles of those two artists are different. both are equal in emotion. It depends on how you percieve it. Back to chris brown and rihanna, you may not like an artist, but if they make good music, that might not matter, like me. Yes, I hate chris brown, but notice I said forever is still on replay and I dont hold how I feel about him against his music. When I said that he could never really sing that good, didnt I say that rihanna couldnt sing that well either? In my opinon neither of them have good vocals, but what have I said time and time again, I love music. I like lykke li, but her voice goes flat time and time again. Still her lyrics and her emotion pull me in. Thats why rihannas album showed growth. The guitars and the vocals were way different than gggb. I already downloaded graffiti, and I compared every song to exclusive and his debut. To me, his voice sounds the same. He’s not trying anything new. Im with artists who try something new. His songs are always from what I can tell are always gonna be the same. Pop and dance hits. And theirs nothing wrong with that. Thats just not me. Forever pulled me in and always will, but the era for music has changed. People will always love chris brown, but some will never understand his style will ALWAYS stay in place. Thats what he’s good at. And that’s good, but my taste for music changes, and chris stays with one era and that’s not for me. You must be a chris hardcore or semi hardcore fan, and thats okay, Im a fierce lady gaga fan. I love music, I love singing, and I love productions. I hope they keep doing what they’re doing, and make music I can appreciate and love in the future.

    @NANCY GGGB SOLD 2.5 ,,CB SOLD 1.9

  64. Ms.Lady November 30, 2009

@Nancy; thank you people dont seem to realize that gggb was released 4 different times so it only sold more than Chris’ cd’s because they combine all four of those sales together just like the say shes sold 12-15 million albums ummm no shes sold 15 million records which includes singles and ringtones. But just to put it out there gggb sold around 168k its first week and Exclusive sold 295k its first week and this time around Chris has fans that will be buying 2, 3 or maybe even 4 copies of his cd so that will make up for those who wont buy it this time around

  65. na November 30, 2009

@MS.LADY IT DOESN’T MATTER SHE STILL SOLD MORE THAN HIM WITH GGGB

  66. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

Ok, This album is about to go down in History as the greatest R&B/Pop Crossover album that was ever Produced, Penned, and Recorded. The Level of Production is Insanely Professional, and by all means worth more than one Listen. In the Midst of Controversey, Lies, and Deceit, many artist have emerged better people! But never has one had the ability to detail the fact of there situation through patience, thought, or the Level of Growth than the way this was done in both on a personal level, and more important to music lovers Artistically! In fact, once listeners begin listening, its going to be Very difficult to stop. Even the Worst of the Rihanna Sympathy Thrown haters are going to listen to Grafitti and be able to see the difference between who they thought they were Hating and the Actual Person Singing on the Album! Accompanied by one of the most revealing interviews of all time, even more than Ms. Riihanna Fenty’s, Grafitti is slated to set the tone in changing the meaning of words like Retribution, Deceit, and Betrayl inside this industry and out! WIth that set aside, the twenty year old young R&B/Pop Prince, has formulated a way to speak on such a Mutated Situation without taking away from his own Dignity, because the facts simply keep that from Happening: The World know what he has done wrong, and just how dedicated and serious he is about emerging a better person And again he has formulated a way to speak on such a Mutated Situation without taking away the Necessary space that is Much Loved and needed to satisfy the True desire in those Hungry for European Dance, Swagger Sass, and Club Bangers. By waiting in the wind for those who were once close to him, to decide in there own minds whether they should stay, Leave, or Play both fields, Chris Brown Truly Has the Last Laugh with this Album and this Situation. In the events that have unfolded in the last two years of his life, he has been given A Very Shocking And Revealing Perpective on who was ever a friend, a fan, and or a Business Partner! It Leaves no room for doubt that although the world is big enough to learn and Understand who your Professional, Personal, and Fan based Alliences are, and through Patience in doing just that, what is Revealed is that it is also small enough to show the world just How far, emotionally, and Physically this young man has Transformed, and was Pushed through the Negativity of the Personal Relationships that surrounded him before, during, and still after the ” Incident”. One of the things that I believe you will come to find on this album and in his story is that in a situation where more than two parties were involved, and more than two were wrong, only one was blamed. And although he was and still is willing to accept that blame, nothing at all was said of the others until now.. What you find is shocking! Regardless of the Poor and Carelessly Researched and investigated Hatred the so called “well deserved flack”, the overload of mis guided sympathy for the wrong people involved, what is Revealed about Society is so Raw, Pure, and U****! Without leaving out the much needed Natural Blend and Association of Mid – Up Tempo Make you wanna Move songs, something very True is so revealing that it would take Drake and Rihanna themselves Drunk and in the Greatest moment of Passion for Lust, Fashion, Sympathy Born fans, and Stardom to not see this.. And even then they still would!! Good Luck To all of those who were involved in Driving a True Musician with Music at Heart Temporarily Insane! And the idiots on here who don’t know music, and the Movement its heading in, please Reiderate your suggestions, and your Sources! Thank you!

  67. Raychel November 30, 2009

@kodieblue he may have have changed but his voice hasnt. his productions havent. he’s making the same type of music. run it and kis kiss have the same feel as transform ya. but hey, people will always disagree and have a different opinion. I just be the only one who notices.

  68. This Girl Is Just Keeping It Real November 30, 2009

    @RAYCHEL

I never said music is just about the voice…I said its not just about the lyrics and beat. ITS THE WHOLE THING! You can have a great beat, great lyrics but, if you have a lousy voice it just ruins the whole song.

As for Chris and rihanna….I guess were going to have agree to disagree on this one. Your right, I am A CB fan(not hardcore but stiil a fan) I believe he has grown as an artist but I guess it depends on what you mean by growth. For me he has grow lyrically and vocally AND has grown performance wise. For you “growth” May mean going totally left with your music like rihanna has (which is fine) but you dont have to go left with your music in order to grow with your art of work.

Changing your look/music is fine…But that doesnt mean your “growing” as an artist. Rihanna may have a different sound but she still cant sing OR perform. Chris HAS grown as an artist AND as a performer and gets better with every album. Look at his performances from 2005 till now And tell me he hasnt grown as an artist!……. C’mon.

but I guess we’ll have agree to disagree 🙂

  69. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

And To @ Rachel, If you downloaded Grafitti, the actual album, then post lyrics to the song Falin Down, right now in your next message, and not Lyrics that were featured in the snippet!

  70. Raychel November 30, 2009

@the girl is just keeping it real
your so right! nicely done. but you have to agree that this sight is biased with chris and rihanna lol

  71. Mabz November 30, 2009

deffo will b buyin dis album!!! just saw da crawl video n its hott!! doh cassie’s hair looks highly ridiculous and its abizmal!!! but neways chris brown still looks hott!!

  72. Ms.Lady November 30, 2009

@NA; Actually it does matter gggb was her 3rd cd and well Chris doesnt have a 3rd cd people always want to compare his 1st and 2nd to her 3rd if you want to compare how about you compare her 1st to his 1st or her 2nd to his 2nd

  73. This Girl Is Just Keeping It Real November 30, 2009

    @RAYCHEL

LOL! I agree with ya on that one. Its hard to find blogs that are not biased nowadays. There either one side or the other. And thats in genreal. not just about CB and rihanna. In general blogs are biased.

  74. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

No Rachel your not the only one who notices that. you already made the statement that you hate Chris Brown and the mind is a powerful thing. The fact that you hate him for what he did, makes you look at him, and everything about him in a biased Perspective, sound wise, musically, vocally, publicly, and personally! You can’t hate someone without that having an effect on how you percieve there music! Because your on a Chris brown Dominated thread trying to Non chalantly defend someone who is about to have her lies, her personaly life, and her deceit known by everyone by the man who drove who she and others in a joint effort pused very very very far!!!! You don’t understand, and this is coming from someone who truly loved Rihanna and what she use to stand for! All you heared from Chris’s album were the SIngles they released and the snippets.. If not provide a link to where you downloaded it. because that was one of the most protected albums in the history of music period…

  75. ImageChanger November 30, 2009

Ms. Lady… Exclusive was re-released too, remember?

  76. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

@Rachel comin on here saying you heared the full album.. Only the people doing the reviews over the course of the next week are hearing GRAFITTI! Unless you found an unknown thread where it has leaked.. If not stop saying things like this… AND I QUOTE ” like lykke li, but her voice goes flat time and time again. His songs are always from what I can tell are always gonna be the same.” SO if you downloaded Grafitti, cough up the link!!

  77. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

AND NOTICE I WROTE THAT IN QUOTES, SO THAT STATEMENT IS NOT FROM ME.. JUST ANOTHER HATER ON A RELENTLESS MISSION TO DISSUADE PEOPLE FROM BUYING THE ALBUm NOTiCE SHE SAYS SHE DOWNLOADED GRAFITTI AND HEARED IT BUT STILL HAS YET TO PROVIDE A LINK!

  78. Sick of Lames! November 30, 2009

    @ Mr. 727:

Damn!! Tell me why you are really mad! LMAO!! Hmmm….I see you at numerous blogs sites posting those same long ass, profanity laced, mis spelled, ghetto ass rants! Then you have the nerve to call him ‘illiterate’ with ‘no class’! Well isn’t that the pot calling the ketlle back! You have contradicted yourself to the fullest extent! You say you have no respect for him and it is obvious you won’t be purchasing his album or supporting him in anyway, so why waste time reading a review on him? Stupid Much? This dude must be really heavy on your mind (though you will never admit it) cause you spend so much time on his post! Furthermore, you refer to a woman as a ‘b****’, ‘w****’ & a ‘s***’ on this very blog and have the audacity to call CB out on his actions! So verbal abuse towards a woman is OK as long as you don’t hit her! Ok! Chile Please! You really need to get yourself some business already ! It amazes me how the people that swear they hate this dude are the ones that are the first to comment and usually the longest dumbest comments at that! SMH!!

FYI: CB did well in school (my cousin went to school with him) and he DID finish! He obviously didn’t go to regular school because of his status but he DID finish! He also co-wrote every song on his album and co-wrote beautiful songs such as ‘Stronger’ by Mary J & ‘Crawl’ for himself which got rave reviews from critics and fans! He wrote most of his biggest hits ‘Kiss, Kiss’, ‘Forever’ and even ‘Disturbia’ for his ex! He is far from illiterate and his resume speaks for itself!

I take it you are a really insecure dude being that you called him a ‘pretty boi ass n****’ I mean, what does his looks have to do with anything? Insecure much? I take it you are one of those mad ‘ugly ass n*****’! LMAO!! Then you mention his ‘d*** bouncin’ on stage! Really?! You must be one of those ‘down low n*****’ as well! LMAO!!! You pay close attention to this dude don’t you!

For the record, no I don’t condone his actions or support abusers, nor am I a lil girl with wet panties! I am old enough to drive, vote and drink! I support him cause I think he is talented and I believe his talent will previal! Trust his album will sell, as all his others have! No one is prasing his past actions we are supporting his music and rehabilitation! I am someone who does not hold grudges (especially against someone who I don’t know) when I truly believe that he can chage for the better! His legal situation has been handled by the courts, he has been punished by the LAW and been sentenced by the Judge! There is nothing I nor anyone else can do to change it! It all lies in the hands of CB and God now! All you bitter ass people rooting for this dude to fail are gonne feel real stupid and will have to eat your words when his album drops!

  79. tmj November 30, 2009

I recently bought both of Chris previous albums and I can clearly hear a change in his voice and subject matter from 1st to 2nd album. The best way to judge Chris’ voice is to check out songs he does in acapella. Hearing him sing an acapella of “Winner” is different from “Sing like me” (try youtube for his live performances).

I look forward to hearing how his voice will further develop 2 years from now.

  80. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

@ Rachel Well were all entitled to it. Sorry it seemed like I was taking that away, But the link you provided only offers the same thing that his record label alreasy released. the Full Length singles, and 30 second snippets of the rest of the songs.. So again why did you say you downloaded the album, listened to it and didn’t it, when the link you provided is exaclty whay I said it would be??/

  81. nope November 30, 2009

@KodieBlue BASICALLY!!!!!!!!! They got this thing wrapped tight!!!!!!!!!

  82. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

@ Rachel, AGAIN AS I SAID, NOBODY HAS THIS ALBUM OTHER THAN THE ONES DOING THE REVIEWS FOR THIS WEEK! YOU SHOULDN’T BE ON HERE LYING AND SAYING YOU LISTENED TO THE ALBUM AND IT BLOWS IN A DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO GET PEOPLE TO NOT BY IT WHEN PROFESSIONALS ARE GIVING IT SOME OF THE BEST REVIEWS ALBUMS HAVE EVER HAD! 4/5! IF THATS NOT THE CAS, THEN AGAIN TYPE IN ONE VERSE FROM FALLIN DOWN OR FAMOUS GIRL THAT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 30 SECOND SNIPPETS THAT WERE OFFICIALLY RELEASED. LIKE F*** YOU HAVE THE ALBUM.

  83. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

    # SICK OF LAMES! YOUR SOO RIGHT! I COULDN’T AGREE MORE!

  84. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

@Nope. Thats exactly what I told her before but she insisted she had a link to it, provided one, but its phony and just the official released material that everyone has. I was hoping this album doesn’t leak, and have had the feeling its heavily guarded for quite some time now.. I think its good that he’s not airing his interview ubtil three days after its released, because if not, people would find a way. There already trying to everywhere!

  85. nope November 30, 2009

Shiiiiiit, I’ve been trying all night lmao. It gets released overseas somewhere on Friday so we’ll have it by then lmao. If he can make it till Thursday it should have minimal impact on sales. #teambreezy

  86. marg November 30, 2009

I think people needs to stop with the double standards. I’m a female so I already know
when to back off, when it comes to fighting with any man. I dont condone domestic violence, but I think female takes things too far sometimes. And act all suprised when men hit back. Domestic violence goes both ways. And its not a joke people.
We don’t know what happend in the car that night, so people need to stop with the Rihanna is a victim crap. She was fighting with her boyfriend and she lost….She doesnt act like a victim. Any smart person would realize the only reason Rihanna did that 20/20 interview was because she had an album coming out.
She doesnt give a crap about domestic violence.
People who are so quick to defend her actions, show me proof that shes helping young girls whos getting their b*** kick everyday.
I understand what Chris did was wrong, he should have stopped the car and walk away.Or call the cops. but sometimes people snap.I’m sure Rihanna used to beat on him. And he snapped. So he made a mistake, for the rest of his life he’s going to pay for it trust me.
So if you don’t like chris dont support him, same goes for rihanna.

  87. marg November 30, 2009

People need to stop comparing Chris Brown music to Rihanna’s music. Its not the same type of music. I’m neither a Chris Brown or Rihanna ”stan”. but have some songs from both of them on my ipod. When I listen to a Rihanna song, trust me its not for her voice. Its for the beat or the lyrics. Chris Brown on the other hand CAN sing, so people needs to stop with the Chris Brown cant sing crap.
The problem that I have with Rihanna is that shes just a pretty face, she cant dance, sing, Zero stage presence. And yet shes cocky. you can clearly see it in her live perfomances.
Its not me hating on the girl, I’m basing my opinion on her on facts.
Chris Brown can sing, dance, and everything in between. but it doesnt me I listen to all his songs.
Bottom line is you can be pretty all day long, but looks fades. If you have nothing else to bring to the tablebut looks. you’re not going very far.

  88. marg November 30, 2009

It’s like the Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera thing. There isnt anybody on here who can say Christina cant sing. Christina can sing circle aroung britney. And yet Britney’s more popular. The reason people doesnt have any problem with britney is because, even though she can’t sing worth a lick, yet she’s a good entertainer. She bring other things to the table.
Rihanna needs to learn either to sing or dance because people are getting tired of the same dull perfomance from her. I have nothing against her, but sometimes in order to be cocky , you have to be the best at your craft.

  89. KodieBlue November 30, 2009

@Nope. I know! Me too! And it doesn’t matter because if it would finally leak, and I did download it and love every second, I’m still gonna go out and pay for it because its deserving in my eyes!! Hard work and dedication was put into this one for our experience, and his justification in the matter at hand! That makes 2 for Team Breezy!

  90. Mr.727 December 1, 2009

Blah , blah, balh blah!! I all I hear from you Wasted your time trying to ride me to make yourself feel better! B**** again I will say what I want when I want and it ain’t a damn thing you can do about it! I not like you, a lil ass teeny bopper with a dumb ass a agenda! I’m not going to stop cussing cuz you are a motherfucking w****, with no class, I like real music,, and have a real, mind, I don’t let these talentless people rotate on my Ipod! “ONLY THE BEST ARE WELCOMED INTO MY EARS” So f*** you and your worthless ass statement! You can call anybody on here who are either a fan of chris brown or neutral, a b****. in the end sound like his making more money that you.
    It hurts doesnt it peace

  94. Mr.727 December 1, 2009

He did nothign to me, I just can’t stand how this is acceptable! People are going to support him no matter what, they are going to praise him no matter what! I just refuse to accet
what he did! The best thing for me to do is not post on this blog anymore, I’m just going to read a book, or listen to the music that has substance and never lets me down, which is the old school! Which most of ya’ll don’t know about!!!!!!!!!!

  95. marg December 1, 2009

and the point I was trying to make on my first comment is that, the reason people still support chris brown is because he’s talented, yes he messed up by hitting rihanna back.
but in the end talent speaks volume.

  96. marg December 1, 2009

@ Mr 727 nobody’s accepting chris brown’s actions. There isnt anybody on here who said rihanna deserved to get beat up. you have to look at the facts, she was wrong too. both of them should have been charged. but rihanna decide to throw chris under the bus, by lying.so we cant accept that crap

  97. Mr.727 December 1, 2009

B**** you out your rabbit ass mind! I laugh people like you, using your education to put someone down! Well w****, I’ve been to college myself, have not finish yet but i will finish! So f*** all this I got this and that, cuz if you died today, you can’t take it with you!!!!! You ignorant no moral having b**** like you! Him being famous does not make me or break me! I just know that I don’t have to pays his bills like you silly f**** do! I will never buy his record,s*** never have so f*** you c***! Yeah b**** I will cuss to the gas run out the car w****! You judge me by the words I say, but you don’t know my mind, nor do you know me so what you say has no meaning to me what so ever! I thank the Lord I have intelligence! He knows me better than anyone! You may call me a hypocrite , but real is real! Which you’re not!

  98. marg December 1, 2009

  100. AWOLLUVA December 1, 2009

@ Nancy (7:38 pm), GGGB sold 7 million worldwide, what the f*** type of drugs are you smoking? Chris Brown, with both his debut and sophomore album, sold together around 5 million worldwide.

@ MS.LADY (8:09pm), who the hell cares how many times GGGB was released? Albums get re-released all the time, and are we not forgetting “Exclusive: THE FOREVER EDITION”? Any re-release still counts toward the overall sale of the initial album the re-released version is re-released on (I sound like a broken record, holy s***), so nevertheless, in sales: GGGB > CB + Exclusive COMBINED.

Not that I’m about to jump on the Rihorror tip (I’d sooner be a fan of Chris before her, if he wasn’t the physical abuser that he is), this is just in response to whoever it was that said CB has more fans than her. Then again, it seems as though these days he very well might. Both can sit on a rusty nail and spin, for all I care…I don’t even know why I’m relying to this BS.

And seriously, some of you on here need to take a few hits of something that’ll calm your asses down. Life is too short to be getting all riled up & s*** over the likes of Woman Beater and Satanic Cult Devil Worshiper, fuuck…

  101. AWOLLUVA December 1, 2009

@ MARG (12:47 am), I gotta disagree with you on the whole “they both should have been charged” tip, absolutely not! What exactly would Rihanna even be charged with?? She didn’t physically assault him, there was no blood on his face, he had no bite marks on his body.

What, because she got pissed off and threw her cheating boyfriend’s phone because there were texts from another girl? Or whatever the situation was…either way, nothing she did that night warrants an arrest. Can’t say the same for the one who put devil horns in her head by smashing it against his fists, along with the car windows…..

  102. Sick of Lames! December 1, 2009

Did I strike a super sensitive nerve? Is cursing someone out the only way you can get your weak ass point across! Will you grow up already! Take your own advice that you gave to CB and get some class! You hate CB so much for what he did but you don’t seem to be that much better of a person that you think he is! Again, refering to a woman as a ‘b****’ or ‘s***’ or any form deragatory name for that matter ia a form of ABUSE! I feel sorry for any woman thet will try to establish a relationship with you! The way you address people on this blog as well as other blogs that you keep poppin up on really shows your lack of marurity and lack of respect for others as well! Are you really this obsessed with this dude or do you just get a thrill out of arguing back and forth with people that still support his career! This way nobody can respond until i comes out. But I get the feeling, this interview is going to be difficult for alot of people including her to swallow, because its very raw and u**** as far as the truth goes. Theres nothing premeditated about it because its what he held in about the situation all of this time! I completely support the Rehabilitation process in him, can see a much better person emerging, both Personally to fans, as well as Artistically in him. But I cannot say the same for Ms. Fenty at all! In fact, I see a major turn for the worse. Which to many is why Chris responds to everything on this album and in this interview. because of the Massive level of Hatred and arrogance that was generated from Lies.. What is known as far as what he did is now known as truth and from what I think is alot easier for people to swallow than what there about to hear that lead up to the “Incident and the situation and the people involved that Brewed it!! And the aftermath of it regarding the industry figures involved.. Chris hasn’t just Grown.. This Mother F***** has Genuisly Evolved on a personal and Artistic Level because of this.. The Haters are so backwards about this.. It makes me wanna f*** someone up!!

  107. KodieBlue December 1, 2009

@Sick of Lames! Don’t let 7 whatever f***** seven anger you! Obviously the guy is Insane and forgot to take his meds today. But I’m sure somebody will be caling his ass down soon enough. Whether it be with a shot of Hallodol or Depacote because the guys delusioanl just like every other hater who thinks they can come one here and talk like this album isn;t about to sell! And by the way, earlier you said you support him and that you can see he’s rehabilitating.. And that you hope his talent prevails. But you seemed to say something different in response to 7 crazy 7 whatever.. Whats up? You support his growth or what?

  108. KodieBlue December 1, 2009

oh my bad.. I see that you were resonding to Crazy 7 Being goinng down 7! That guy is nuts right? Gld Bless Mishael Jackson and all of them, but I think that Chris was definitely inspired by them and can do just as well! RIght?

  109. wtf December 1, 2009

@WTF we get the Hater stans off of here one way or another! KodieBlue

Thank you!

  111. Annie’ December 1, 2009

Repeat – Rihanna stans from RD need to stay there. Y’all are repetitive with your sh*t.

  112. trucie December 1, 2009

heard the preview and am very excited about the album. though I’m extremely dissapointed with Mr Brown, I’m not going to deny his talent nor him a chance to redeem himself. As far as i’m concern the s*** has been over for months now and ppl should really let these kids move on. I bought RiRi’s album and its a great album but of couse Sam didn’t do a review on it because he’s a b****. Anywho, good luck to Mr. Chris. I will go out and support the work.

  113. marg December 1, 2009

@ AWOLLUVA ..you’re entitled to your opinions. but lets be honest here.
you mean to tell me if you found a text message by a woman on your mans phone, your just going to calmy ask him why somebody texting him? NO….your going to get angry, and if you’re the type that breaks bottles over your OWN brother head for no reason, your going tobe furious, and youre going to want blood…. did you see chris brown face after the incident, NO ..so you cant say he had no bruises on his face.
Am not defending his actions, why should I defend rihanna’s actions too. shes not innocent in this. Like I stated in my first comment am not a Stans for neither of them.
but as a woman who has been a victim of domestic violence, I know when somebody’s full of crap.
Rihanna is not a victim, she lost a fight she had with her boyfriend. shes making a mockery of domestic violence. when she actually go and help people like me who actually used to get their b*** kick everyday, then ill feel simpathy for her.

  114. kr1 December 1, 2009

Y’ALL KNOW HOW YOU CALLED RIHANNA DOING HER 20/20 A PUBLICITY STUNT?? WELL CHRIS IS DOING HIS 2020 INTERVIEW 2 DAYS AFTER HIS ALBUM RELEASE http://www.examiner.com/x-11484-Boston-TV-Examiner~y2009m11d29-Chris-Brown-speaks-to-Robin-Roberts-in-upcoming-2020-interview

AND I CAN BET 1 MILLION PEOPLE WILL DENY THIS BEING PUBLICITY STUNT ABSOLUTE JOKE! This album and rihannas are pretty good nonetheless just don’t understand how he gets more sympathy than her and she gets most of the criticsm whereas he beat a girl!

  115. Will December 1, 2009

Im not a stan but will people please stop with this crap. Both artists have different music point blank. Can chris brown sing yes! Is he a usher or tank hell no. Can rihanna sing? to pop standards yes but she is no xtina or adele. Why go threw these b**** fights. what happened between them happened. If rhianna flops oh well if he flops oh well. WE ALREADY KNOW THEY ARE EACH GONNA GET ANOTHER ALBUMS REGARDLESS. WHAT RECORD EXEC CUTS PEOPLE WHO BRING IN 200000 IN SALES 1ST WEEK AND IM SURE CHRIS BROWN WILL DO EQUEAL OR BETTER. And please can we stop the baiting about it was rhiannas fault she got beaten. Im so tired of it. He was at fault he got charged the end. WE DONT ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED THEY COULD WRITE A FRICKEN BOOK ABOUT IT AND WE STILL COULD NOT KNOW THE TRUTH. SO CAN WE MOVE ON.

  116. Diane December 1, 2009

Who is advising Chris to do these interviews? Chris has been handled terribly. If Chris wants the public to concentrate on his music, he should only do musical appearances. If GMA does not want him to perform, then he should not do an interview, and there is no need for Chris to go on 20/20 unless you are one of the Most Fantastic Person of 2009. Otherwise, Chris will always be the face of an abusive monster.

  117. bobs December 1, 2009

Completely f***’ed up. I am beyond words. Now, it’s Rihanna’s fault she got beaten? An abuser putting out this record, and doing a revealing ABC interview the week his record drops. And an album already getting horrendous reviews in every magazine.. Career s******.

Is it just me, or does this website just LOVE everything that is critically panned?

  118. marg December 1, 2009

@ bobs .. who said it was rihanna’s fault she got beatting up? who on here said it..nobody did. because people feel rihanna’s album is crap that means were puttin the blame on her? get the eff out of here. again both of them were wrong…not just chris or rihanna ,,,Both of them…..Chris brown is not an abuser, rihanna herself said it on the 20/20 interview. an abuser is somebody who beats a victim everyday. she herself said that was the first time he got that physical with her…so people need to stop with the ”chris brown is an abuser”‘ crap

  119. nieka December 1, 2009

will i be buying chris cd? yes three of them actually!!lol.. can chris actually sing yes (go youtube sing like me which is my jam lol) why are people trying to compare rihanna third cd to chris first and second shouldnt it be rihanna fist and second compare to chris first and second..jmo…why are rihanna fans so upset about this review about chris..you should be made a perez f** hilton for giving rihanna cd a suck ass review..SUPPORT YOUR OWN ARTIST PEOPLE! chris brown fans would like this review in the lines nowhere did i read this was a chris and rihanna review so why are you people soo mad becuase there are people who actually still love this guy.. all i can say is wow..for the comment that chris voice hasnt mature you are not really listen i have chris brown cd the 1st one and i can tell that his voice has change..but rihanna on the other hand..just the same b*******

  120. Sick of Lames! December 1, 2009

@Bobs: Another lame whio insist on talking outta of your ass! Who the hell said it was Rih fault that she got beat? Where do you see that in the review? Stop making dumb ish up! I have heard the entire song and it does not about blamign RIh for anything! Besides, Rih went on 20/20 to discuss damn near everything that happened that night right BEFORE her album dropped (and it still flopped) so why can’t he give an interview AFTER his album drops! Anyone with a lick of sense can tell GMA obviously reached out to him after Rih’s interview and asked him to come on the show! They are the ones using him for ratings!
The album hasn’t even come out yet, we only have only heard snippets of the album and there have been only a few reviews of just the snippets! You know damn well you are just a damn Rih stan and will say anything to bring this dude down! Futhermore, how the hell are you gonna say that the album is already getting bad reviews when the very blog that you are commenting on gave it a great review at 4/5 stars! Where do you get your info from? Why don’t you just go over to Rihanna daily and continue to c*** ride her ass over there! Damn! Better yet, instead of bashing CB, and failing miserably, why don’t you go pick up your girl Rih’s CD cause it is flopping big time!

  121. beready December 1, 2009

SAM YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO TRULY
EVALUATE A SITUATION LET ALONE GIVE A CD REVIEW
YOU HAVE A TENDENCY TO GO ALONG WITH WHAT OTHER BLOGGERS ARE SAYING
    INSTEAD OF BEING YOURSELF
THE ALBUM I THINK WILL BE FINE
HE PROBABLY DOES HAVE SOME PITY SONGS IN THEIR LIKE YOU STATED
BUT ALL ARTIST FOCUS ON SOMETHING TO MAKE SELLS
WHETHER ITS SELLING YOUR SOUL, PORTRAYING A FAKE IMAGE THAT’S NOT REALLY YOU, SELLING YOUR S** APPEAL AND BODY, TALKING ABOUT HER LOVE LIFE OR BROKEN HEARTED SITUATION
THATS JUST HOW THE GAME GOES
I DID PRE ORDER CHRIS CD
STILL LOVE HIS MUSIC AND NOT GLAD OF WHAT HE DID

  122. SEAN December 1, 2009

Oh man, you really want Chris Brown’s c*** in your mouth don’t you Sam?

You are so biased, he’s “lyrically fearless” on I Can Transform Ya?!! Hahahahahaha!

    “I can transform ya/into a transformer”

    What amazing, insightful comments lol!

It’s a 3 star album, he shows maturity and it’s catchy but it is generic R&B at best!

  123. Mr.727 December 1, 2009

@ Lame chick! I have the right to say what I want, I don’t have to respect a f****** kilobyte!

I’m not going to go on cuz it is pointless to try to you get out the fog of the deception of this s***, but you are a follower, like majority of people and you don’t see the truth!!!!!!!

I know the truth and I see what is happening to these black artist, especially the young ones!!!!!

    God be with us all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  124. Mr.Q December 1, 2009

No matter what Chris talks or sings about he will always be pegged as a women beater.

I still believe there is a lot more to this story. After Chris get his career back on track he will tell the rest if the story. I know women and girls like Rihanna and they get away with a lot of shyt.

I have all faith in you my dude.

  125. booo December 1, 2009

    boooo
    i hate chris brown

  126. Raychel December 1, 2009

    @Kodieblue
First of all, when I downloaded that album,I thought it was the real album, turns out that it wasnt but the download had leaked tracks that do appear on the albumthat are not singles already out. Second of all, how am I a Hater when I cleary said that I still listen to chris browns songs and have nothing against his music? You have no need to jump on me like I’m defaming chris browns name. What I said was that I BELIEVE THAT CHRIS BROWNS VOICE HAS NOT CHANGED AND IT HAS NOT SHOWN MATURITY. HE MAY HAVE CHANGED AS A PERSON BUT HIS STYLE OF MUSIC TO ME HAS NOT CHANGED. Never in any of my posts did I say dont buy this album! Its terrible! Never did I say that chris brown is a whack artist or he derserves to go to hell, or say anything bad about him. However, I did say I did not like him for what he did, and I did say I hate him because of that. I am a big debator of domestic violence, and it’s hard for people like me to just forget that he did what he did, or mike tyson for what he did, or terrance howard for what he did. Time and Time again I said that I loved music, and I still listen to him and his music. So dont put words and accusations in my mouth that I’m trying to convince people not to buy the album becuase thats not true ANYONE CAN buy the friggin album I dont care! Before you try to come for me, get your facts straight because Im only stating my opinion and you are taking it to an extra level.

  127. Addie December 1, 2009

Haters are so irrelevent at this point.
no one gives a flying f*** what you have to say anymore.
    he’s going to sell
    & his career isn’t over.
    he’s talented…
    get the f*** over it

& that GMA interview was recorded a while ago
it was actually supposed to be aired dec 11 after the album
but they pushed it up before his album release
    *rolls eyes* Of course.
just trynna make him look bad
as if he hasn’t been through enough s***.

    anywho, i pre-ordered the deluxe
& I’m buying the standard in stores.
Chris Brown is here to stay.
    lick d*** b****** (:

  128. Christian December 1, 2009

Well the album has leaked and after hearing the album, I’m actually liking what Chris is offering. Even though I didn’t side with him on situation with Rihanna but when it comes to the music, he surpasses my expectations. This is actually a good album. I’m curious to see how what his 1st week numbers are gonna look like.

  129. nieka December 1, 2009

i listen to the album and i like it..so i just pre order one and will get the other two from target..

  130. KingMo December 1, 2009

Damn, I can’t wait. Famous Girl sounds hot. Can’t wait for the album…Chris is about to kill it. Good for him.

  131. Juicy December 1, 2009

I heard the grafitti snippets, and I have to say Chris Brown has grown as an artist, his vocals are beyond amazing…this guy is highly talented. Chris Brown is only 20 years old, and I believe he will have a great future in music. Rihanna’s album was horrible, I didn’t like her songs at all. I like music to make me feel happy, not want to kill myself llike Rihanna’s songs. Chris Brown’s music is happy, and his voice touches the soul. Rihanna was dissing Chris all over her album, let Chris Brown get his emotions out through his music too…so he can move on. There is nothing wrong with men venting! Why the double standards?

I have already ordered Grafitti Deluxe, and I plan to buy 2 more Grafitti Albums(as gifts) Dec.8th to simply put the “middle finger” at the haters. The time is now Chris Brown fans, we must shout in support for Chris. Get the album Dec.8th at Bestbuy, Target etc. Chris Brown is also very handsome, he can dance like nobody’s business, and he sounds amazing. Even Micheal Jackson said he likes Chris Brown’s music. Great review btw.

  132. KodieBlue December 1, 2009

@ RACHEL! NO REASON TO HATE HIM,, BECAUSE Nobody supprts domestic violence on here.. WE SUPPORT HIS REHABILITATION AND HIS DECISION TO EMERGE A BETTER PERSON TO TEACH OTHER YOUNG GUYS HIS AGE TO NOT TO DO THE SAME. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, WE DO NOT SIT BLINDED TO THE FACT THAT SHE AND OTHERS WERE FACTORS INVOLVED IN THIS SITUATION.. Yeah but how can you possible see where someone has grown vocally and musically production wise if your blinded by your Hate for him?? You’ll deny this to know end, and change the point of what I’m saying. I think Rihanna had a wonderful album in the sense that she put her personaly life on blast, and as someone mentioned on here that is one of many things that sell, but to say he hasn;t grown as an artist vocally is just dead to my ears because there is such a difference in the sound of his voice now compared to older albums, he’s carrying notes longer, hittin higher tenner 1 notes, and singing low in the same damn verse.. He was doing this before but in a younger voice, not as long as he is now, and not as Powerful as his voice is now.. To say that he hasn’t grown in those respects is like throwing a shovel at a wave.. A wave that your Hate and everyone else’s towards him created.. So you are a part of that in the sense that that hate blinds you from being able to see the Transition, in him vocally, productionally, and on a personaly level. He use to be a very arrogant person but is Emerging a very Humble, sensitive, and Friendly Different person, but he refuses to let his guard down to people who want to see him fail.. And if you hate him, such a strong word..

  133. KodieBlue December 1, 2009

So @ Rachel. My conclusion is this. SOme people know how to forgive as long as the person is changing, and others, being your Hate towards him just don’t! SO I agree to disagree with you.. I’m sure if I went somewhere else and defended the rehabilitation of him somewhere else I’d hear far more Hate, but that just comes from people who are still stuck on the situation, and blinded by it..

  134. Kearx December 1, 2009

Actually Rihanna Album Rated (R) isnt all that bad there only about 5 songs I Like…Which are Stupid In Love, Fire Bomb, Rude Boy, Photograph, & Te Amo

  136. lauren December 1, 2009

i can’t wait to get the album

nice job breezy! i just finished listen to it on mtv.com

  137. Raychel December 1, 2009

OMFG @kodieblue I just said I still listen to his friggin music and have his old music and I said he has changed yipee his voice to me sounds the same! Why do you continually not see what I’m trying to say! I did not put the situation in perspective with his music. I already downloaded famous girl I like that song I still listen to his stuff. Geez your stuck on stupid when I cleary said I dont put his situation over his music. Read what I say, to me his voice is irritating, it still sounds the same, but I like some of his songs. point blank, stop putting words and accusations in my mouth like I said them. Enjoy the album dang…

  138. KodieBlue December 1, 2009

Yeah I said I agree to disagree with you.. Whats your deal. Let it go.. As i stated before, I think his Voice has grown so much since his previous album.. THis is so much different than Exclusive and CB.. And I think his music is Amazingly better, and put together better than 90% of whats out here.. But you expect me to see what what your saying when you have your opinion about his voice and mine is the COMPLETE opposite..

  139. KodieBlue December 1, 2009

Right but @Rachel I’m just saying we disagree on not one. But two things. One being that afore mentioned regarding his vocal Growth and two being his Growth in Rehabilitation. And where the disagreement lives in the second one is that you clearly stated you Hate him. Ok, I Don’t, and I Forgive him. Someone who Hates hasn’t forgiven. And that is why I said I simply agree to disagree with you on not one, but both subjects. And as I said, I don’t take away from your opinion. I just disagree with it.. And Where did you download famous girl from? I thought there only offering an album listen..

  140. KodieBlue December 1, 2009

ALL I GOTTA SAY IS I GAVE MY OWN ALBUM REVIEW ON THIS MUTHA BEFORE EVER HEARING IT A DAY BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO DO THE LISTEN LEAK! AND CLEARLY STATED THAT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DISCOVER SOMETHING UNSEEN AND UNHEARED BY MOST COMING FROM THIS ALBUM, AND IT IS IN FACT STATED. CAN YOU IMAGINE? THE WEIGHT “HATE’ OF THE WORLD? PLACED ON YOUR SHOULDERS? TRAPPED IN THIS WORLD? NO ONE CAN REACH YOU! SO NO-ONE CAN HELP YOU NOW! I FELT THIS COMIN BECAUSE I TOOK TIME OUT TO TRY TO PLACE MYSELF IN HIS SHOES THROUGH MY OWN REVIEW OF WHAT I THOUGHT HE WOULD BE TELLING US ON AN ALBUM AFTER A YEAR JUST LIKE THE ONE THAT HAS PASSED! READ YESTERDAY’S COMMENT I LEFT BEFORE EVER HEARING ANY OF THE SONGS THAT WEREN’t OFFICIALLY RELEASED.. F*** CHICAGO TRIBUNE!!!!

  141. KodieBlue December 2, 2009

Ok SO I got the full download of the album in my Ipod but Am definitely still going out and buying to Support this Boy! Si I noticed that the download is nothing in comparison in quality to the actual official listening Stream of the album. Downloads only do so much for my ears. Without the official stream or the official cd which are identical in sound, the downloads people post aren’t nearly as good in comparison.. Who wants a crunched version of a full song that completely f**** with the way it Actually sounds.. M**’s Don’t ever do the actual SOngs in there entirity, bitrate, and full quality the slightest bit of justice.. In fact this album is KILLER when you listen to the Official version of the songs. M**’s Eh there ok..

  142. SXSW December 2, 2009

    It’s just okay. I’ll give it a C+

Very similar to the Trey Songz and Mario generic r&b album. Nothing special.

  143. Christian December 2, 2009

To “KODIEBLUE” – The album did leak. I DLed it myself. Yes MTV is giving a ‘FIRST LISTEN” and Rhapsody is streaming the the album but the album did leak. I went to albumhunt.com and DLed the album.

  144. Christian December 2, 2009

Hey KodieBlue – Disregard my comment, I just read your last message. 🙂

  145. lilzo33 December 2, 2009

I cant wait for the album. Im buying everyone a copy. I actually got the oppourtunity to listen to the cd. AMAZINGGGGGGGG, i love the song with The Game nd Plies. I love Chris!!!!!!!!!

  146. puffy December 2, 2009

    @anon
First of all Chris’s album hasn’t even came out yet. And Rolling Stone didn’t say anything about Chris’s album yet. And for the person/people that said Rihanna could have slapped and kicked him and he still would have been wrong and she wouldn’t have are dumb. Because you shouldn’t put your hands on anyone so thats why I don’t support what Chris did at all but I still think he can be a good person and i like his music. And Rihanna didn’t outsell Chris by miles dumb asses because for one his album didnt come out yet. And also Rihanna sold less album’s then 50 cent according to VH1 top 5 albums. And 50 cent only sold 160,000 copies lol. So how good is Rihanna now lol. Her album isn’t that good espically compared to other ones and I’m a Rihanna fan its just not good. Go show me some good reviews instead of the dumb ones you get off of fake ass wikipedia lol. F****** losers its pretty easy to outsell someone when there album didn’t come out yet lol. But we will see based off of numbers who did better. Because reviews can be bad but you could sell alot and thats all that really matters.

  147. noodles December 2, 2009

Honestly for the most part the album was good and there were only about four songs that could be related to the situation. I give it a very low A or a B+. His track with plies What I do was amzing. And your opinion on how good a album is shouldn’t be based off a critic good or bad. If you like it then you like it listening to a critic and to what other people think isn’t your own opinion. Also really I agree numbers do decide how good a album is and I’m not a Rihanna hater but below 160,000 isn’t good as puffy said. With the whole world feeling sorry for you you should at least be able to sell half as much as Lil Wayne. Its understandble if Chris has a hard time because of his situation but Rihanna should and could have done better. And Rolling Stones opinion of hers was good I think but yet she didn’t sell to many the first week. So Rolling Stones couldn’t have been to right about how good it was if no one really brought it. So that goes to show Rolling Stones and Critics opions aren’t always good to base your opinion off of. If you hate him Oh well I’m pretty sure he is really busy crying while he is selling out shows like in La, Houston New York , San Fransico and so on. Some how I’ll think he will get past you haters lol.

  148. Will December 3, 2009

I downloaded his album and im not really feeling it this time around. I was expecting a more deep exclusive cd but the beats arent really hitting this time. i loved songs like take you down and down but this cd seems rushed. I think he does best with up tempos like forever because he dosent have that soulful slow jam type voice. I just thought i was gonna love this album but its kinda just there. Anyone else listen to it yet. I played it a couple times just surfing for those tracks that grab you. you know? Plus i dont get the track list i swore he had some hot uptempo snippits. I guess my top songs would be pass out , what i do and so cold

I agree with the reviewer. I think it is very entertaining, and I do like the album. I even like some of the songs the reviewer said they could do without. “So Cold,” to me was more about the relationship, and it did not make me feel remorse. It just gave me a little more background into how tumultuous this relationship was. It does not excuse the behavior, but at least you see another side to the story. This will be in rotation in my car.

I love this album I agree i could do without so cold … but itz not badd .. for all those who are hating on his album becuz of what he did needs to grow up , where talking about his music not if he was wrong for beating her up .. we all know he was wrong for that -even he has said that countless times- This is a REVIEW on HIS MUSIC NOT HIS LIFE … and BTW -since every1 wants to say Rated R is better- I love Rihanna as an artist and bought her other albums but this one was OK at best ( there are a few tracks i like ) but it just wasn’t that good and just because she got beat up I’m not gonna lie and say it was great cuz its not. sorry but Graffiti is a better album

  152. ambyy December 9, 2009

@ Kat your right exclusive is the best album so far but this one is still good

  153. ambyy December 9, 2009

Just read the rolling stone review Completely ridicious itz the same review of rihanna’s album his one paragraph about his album thatz completely bias and makes the review seem as if they don’t really care much about the quality of music just the artist that puts it out smh

Im glad somebody actually wrote a decent review of the album! Finally someone who is judging his music and not what happened back in Feb. Now I know what he did was REALLY wrong but what else can he do to make it right? Only time will tell and I, as a CB and Rihanna fan, honestly do not think that he will EVER do something that stupid again!! I think people should give him a break and just move on like both Rihanna and CB are trying to do. I hope people just learn to drop things that have nothing to do with them. CBs album is AMAZING and Rihannas is alright. I think Rihanna should have made a few songs that had NOTHING to do with the Feb. incident. I mean its really hard for me to listen to a song about Russian Roulette when Im just relaxing and trying to have fun! I like how CB put a mixture of both types of songs on his album and didnt like lose his mind in the process.

I love this album i find it funny how ppl are so quick to point the finger at a man when he hits a women when the women always is the starter of the argument.women always want to be created equal to a man but when he hits her back she wants to back down then all of a sudden become a women again.now i dont agree with a man hitting a women but in some cases us women can take it there..but on a good note plzzz get his album its the s*** especailly if your a dancer….chris breezzyyy babe….love dat kidd….

I have both Rated R and Grafitti and they are both a little disappointing. Rihanna’s trying to sound extra “gangster” on her album (probably because she doesn’t want to be seen as a victim anymore) and Chris doesn’t know whether he wants to take reponsibility or find someone to blame. Even though both albums are very different, they have one major thing in common: the only REALLY good songs on their cds are the ones that have NOTHING to do with the relationship. It’s a waste of energy to try and pick sides (even though I’m a MAJOR Chris Brown fan!) Graffiti wasn’t as good as his first 2 cds and Rated R wasn’t as good as Good GIrl Gone Bad. They BOTH tried to use their relationship issues to help boost their records…and they BOTH failed in the process. Personally, I hope both of them flop. Then maybe they will learn that they should put more effort into making good music and not as much into perfecting their reputations.

I listnened 2 the cd and overall it was gud and alot of the other reviewers say it was crap and I I can say 4 them is put a sock n it

  159. Ray Ray December 13, 2009

Chris Brown will not be getting any of my money on this. He needs to understand something..People are not going to overlook what he did..I bought his last album and was a fan..but how he’s handling this whole situation just makes me sick… And I’m so sick of these girls sticking up for him despite what he did…The whole things is maddening..He thinks that people should have some sort of sympathy for him..for him?? You can blame the industry for your album flop all you want but it wouldn’t have mattered..former fans like myself wouldn’t have bought that ish anyways even if it were dipped in gold and sold at half price at walmart..eat it!!!!

Yes!!! For all the haters saying that rihanna album was going to be beat by Chris Brown well look at the charts m************, Chris Brown’s album finished off at #7 on the charts with his worst first week sales at 102,000….hahahahaha….and everyone sitting here saying his album was going to sell better the first week then rihanna’s well I beg to differ..Rihanna best selling first week beat Chris Brown’s first week..well that shows who’s music was better and it definitely was rihanna’s. now who’s album is going to be a f****** flop..let me hear it: CHRIS BROWN….hahahahahahahahahahaha

  161. MeAllDay December 28, 2009

Graffiti is one of the best CD’s I have heard all year. Chris Brown really delivered an excellent product for those who are interested in good music. I am tired of the comparison btw Chris and someone else. He is his own artist, he writes the majority of his songs and is a wonderful singer & dancers. There is no way to compare say him with anyone especially Rihanna considering she has received all positive press & he has not. Her 1st week sells are far from good considering everything that the media has done to prop this chick up & she only sold 20,000 more copies from her last CD to now. She didn’t even beat Susan Boyle. Chris Brown did very well for a R&B artist. He enter at #1 on the R&B chart & #7 on the Pop, I say that is pretty good for a non-White non-pop artist!
