The youngest of the Knowles clan, Solange, recently put her own spin on Indie band Dirty Projectors single ‘Stillness Is The Move’. Interestingly, she works into the mix Erykah Badu’s ‘Bag Lady’.
WOW! She knocked this one out of the park – literally. Vocals, arrangements, it’s soulfulness… everything! Love, love, love it! At a certain point a time, I was a little cynical about Solange’s foray into the ‘alternate’ / niche market, however having spent little of a year in the listening company of her sophomore LP ‘Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams’ and seen her live, I doubt no more. A true talent!

solange is the real talent in that family. i just dont think she wants to put up with the crap that beyonce does and be the mega star. but if daddy knowles would pump billions of dollars into makin solange the image that sells, she would.

Wonderful rendition of the song! I agree Sam, it is very soulful, and I love her use of her upper-register, particularly some of her whistle notes – she should incorporate it more in her music. I love that she marches to the beat of her own drum, and has a legitimate reason behind it rather than trying to step out of the shadow of her older sister. Way to go Solange!!!

hehe…iLOVE Solange. She is a soulful woman, people should really stop comparing her to Bey…did you people not listen to “God Given Name”? She is her own person with her own style…i think the record is oka…but could have been better! (ie: T.O.N.Y. was my shit)

I would LOVE for Solange to occupy that musical lane with Badu. Cause Badu’s output lately is lacking. Nonetheless, I wish Solange the best. Loved “Sol-Angel” and will most definitely be checking for what come next.
And Sam, that is my FAVORITE picture of her. I think it captures her essence perfectly….Now if we could just get the big sister to sit the HELL down for a minute.
