The full version of Mariah Carey’s ’100 Percent’ has finally surfaced. The song was produced by Carey, Brian Cox and long-time collaborator Jermaine Dupri. Initially considered to be the theme song for the critically acclaimed film ‘Precious: Based On The Novel ‘Push’ By Sapphire’, the track was replaced by Mary J. Blige’s ‘I Can See In Color’.
If you want to know why she is considered to be one of the best voices in recorded music ,then just listen to the last vocal run on this track. Mariah’s voice has so many different colours that it can adapt to almost any melody that a producer can develop. However, one thing that many critics have noted is her inability to translate her musical prowess and talents into raw emotion. That notion is exemplified perfectly in this song. Although I am certain that she tried her best to captivate the passion of the film with her vocals, I felt a bit bored for the majority until the final few seconds. Hence, I sense that the producers made the right choice by selecting the Mary’s record as it channels the pain of the characters more effectively.

AWESOME! Doesn’t really fit with the Memoirs sound, and I think it’s better the Precious people let her shine as an actress instead of putting this on the soundtrack and reminding people of her singer status. But, she sounds sooooooooooo good on this.

this is amazing , to say the least. I lovee how precious speaks in the begining of the song / Mariah really does her thing @ the end of the song , she did a really good job at portraying the message of the song. I think she does give us emotion, throughout her career there has been songs where she really captured the emotion of the song, just not all of them. in recent years, id have to say right to dream , its a wrap are some .
& Lee chose I see in color because he didn’t want pple to look @ mariah the singer, buh to take her seriously as an actress, & she did a great job.

It is SOOOOO nice to see all the love she’s gettin for this song on here…I know a lot of critics say that her voice doesn’t have much passion in it, but I disagree w/that 90-95% of the time

she just gives the hell out of this song..she just reminds all the “diva” that she is still the most talented, respected, and “DIVA”. And that the name “mariah” is synonymous with “real talent.” Show them girl who’s really the queen!
