The video for Janet Jackson‘s new single ‘Make Me’, the lead single from her ‘Number Ones’ compilation (out now), premiered a few moments ago on ABC’s 20/20. With the song and accompanying video seeming only to serve the purpose of promoting her greatest hits, I guess I was never expecting an-all out big budget affair, but I’d be deceiving myself and you if I said I wasn’t slightly disappointed. I can’t put my finger on why, but between the not-so-enthralling choreography and the overall so-so’ness of the clip, I found myself a tad underwhelmed. Ms. Jackson usually comes a lot harder. That said, in view of all that’s been going on, she kinda gets a pass. Here’s hoping she nails it with her hotly anticipated performance at Sunday’s American Music Awards, where she opens the star-studded event with an 8-minute medley.

JANET JACKSON LOOKS STUNNING IN THE VIDEO. ONE OF THE DANCERS DID SAY IT WAS GONNA BE MORE GLAM SHOTS THAN DANCE SCENES. THAT MIGHT BE THE ONLY PROBLEM. CAUSE I DONT THINK PEOPLE GONNA GET THE FEEL OF ROUTINE FOR THE SONG. UNLESS SHE PERFORMS IT ON THE AMA’S.

I think the video is perfectly decent. Better than average anyways. Ok it’s not as dance heavy or big budget as some of her previous efforts but that doesn’t make it bad. I reckon when the next studio album comes out you’ll see more of those types of videos. It prefectly watchable, serves it’s purpose and Janet does look amazing!!!!!!

Janet is so beautiful, and that is really apparent in this video! I love the groove of the song, and the energy. In regards to the video, i am rarely ever disappointed with Janet’s videos, because she knows how to deliver a good video irregardless.
In this case, I slightly agree with Sam regarding the choreography, which seemed a little more bouncy than Janet’s normal sharp and crsip dance steps. Her choreographer has been working with her for years, and he is amazing — so here’s hoping that he continues on the path of intricate, precise, and sexy choreography, which is the hallmark of Janet Jackson’s performances, and less of the bouncy steps which suits less talented dancers.
Either way I am looking forward to Janet’s live performance at the AMA! The Superbowl fiasco (which was entirely overrated with racial undertones…we can watch vulgar commercials and Britney Spears dance all night with butt and breast cleavage, but once Janet shows a nipple-ring, something sacreligious has occurred) has tried to steal her mojo a bit, so I hope she goes back to the Janet Jackson that rips the stage to shreads (a la her late great brother Michael)!!! Overall, good video.

I must say J looked very stunning in this clip. The video overall was a bit too simple compared to other videos she has done but with all the things surrounding her this year so most certainly gets a pass. At least she is still giving us entertainment that we can appreciate.

Now if she was dancing around and showing her body then she would be criticized for trying to act too young. Now that she has an “age appropriate” video, its boring. Man o Man, Janet is great, iconic, trendsetting and original. The choreo in this vid is great to me. A little house dance mixed wit her intricit movement blended well. To you crazy folks who r leavin negative comments do remember that her choreo is beyond difficult, that is if u’ve ever taken from her choreographer Gil. It’s intricit, quick, detailed and smooth at the same time. So the fact that she hangs wit her dancers who are some of the best and looks comfortable doin it, is great

Best video Janet has done since All Nite (Don’t Stop)…It’s really a dance inspired beauty video. Every video she does for a fast song can’t be all dance….cuz then her videos would start lookin like some other people’s (where every video looks almost exactly the same)…I’m not saying any names!

This video is good. Not simple and not over the top. This video is for her Number Ones CD. She looks amazing (face & fashion) and she gave just enough dance to let you know she’s still got it…the video didn’t need to be straight dance from beginning to finish. And you never catch any of her videos looking the same..whether in color or black&white. Key Point: Janet is ORIGINAL
