Barbra Walters Interviews Lady GaGa

Published: Thursday 10th Dec 2009 by Trent

Pop phenomenon Lady GaGa was interviewed by television icon Barbra Walters last evening. The entertainer was listed as one of Walters’ ’10 Most Fascinating People of 2009′. During the discussion, a very humble GaGa revealed facets of her journey to stardom, her sexuality, artistry and her relationship with her family.

If there is one journalist that leaves everyone starstruck, it’s Barbra Walters. GaGa basically melted when asked about her sexuality, as if embarrassed to discuss the details with a parent. This interview displays how complex yet human the singer really is behind all of the glitz and glam. Quite interesting indeed.

Sidebar: Lady GaGa was not the first act to have their first 4 singles on their debut album go to #1. That honor is held by Mariah Carey, who is also the only artist to have their first 5 records top the charts.

Is the 1st 4/5 releases classed as worldwide or just in the US? Because:

    QUOTE:
“That honor is held by Mariah Carey, who is also the only artist to have their first 5 records top the charts.”

Actually TECHNICALLY Mariah DIDN’T have her 1st 5 records top the chart. Her 5th release from the Mariah Carey album was “There’s Got to Be a Way” in the UK which failed to crack the top 50, instead of “I Don’t Wanna Cry”, which topped the US charts followed by “Emotions” from the album of the same name topping the charts.

So although she DID have her 1st 5 US singles ( “Vision of Love”, “Love Takes Time”, “Someday”, “I Don’t Wanna Cry”, “Emotions”) topped the US chart, they technically were NOT her 1st 5 releases – which were “Vision of Love”, “Love Takes Time”, “Someday”, “I Don’t Wanna Cry” and “There’s Got to Be a Way”.

Also, again TECHNICALLY Lady Gaga’s 1st 4 releases DIDN’T all hit number 1 – “Just Dance”, “Poker Face”, “Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)” [didn’t get the number 1 in any country] and “LoveGame” [didn’t get the number 1 in any country] were TECHNICALLY her 1st 4 releases, albeit in different countries but still her 1st 4 nonetheless.

These were followed by “Paparazzi” which hit number 1, followed by “Bad Romance”, which so far would make 4 number 1 singles out of 6 releases (not the 1st 4 though) plus “Bad Romance” is off “The Fame Monster” which Lady Gaga has stated is her second Studio Album therefore NOT her debut release so “Bad Romance” cannot count towards the 4 number 1 claim…..

lmao and you speak sense NOT.
everyone was saying that about madonna. YES MADDONA. but where is she now, still quite relevant in todays’s industry, obviously not as much as she was in the 80’s. so shut the f*** about her fading, because in twenty years, you and all the other no brainer haters will be proven wrong 🙂 ha.

    For future reference kiddies…

Whether you’re a “hater” or a “stan” doesn’t matter. What matters is whether you have well thought out, logical and factual ideas on someone’s talent and longevity.

Screaming in all caps: “SHE’S JUST A GIMMICK AND HER STANS ARE RETARDED!!!!!! or “SHE’S SO AWESOME AND PERFECT AND YOU ARE JUST A HATER WHO IS RETARDED!!!!!”

…. adds nothing to the discourse and just makes you come across as a mental defective who resorts to flinging personal attacks because you lack the intellectual capacity to debate beyond a pre-school level or articulate an intelligent thought.

Lady Gaga is my favorite “Weird” artists ever. And she seems so humbled and not as crazy as she leaves one to believe she is. I love her and her music is shiznit.

@ Jamie, thank you! Trent, you better find some clearer sources when it comes to listing this b****’s singles chart positions.

The thing about this freak is that we don’t know how long she’s gonna last in the industry, period. It may be 2 years, it may be 20, only time will tell. Time, and what she does with herself after the gimmicks, weird costumes and over-the-top antics fade away (and bet your sweet asses they will, folks.) Will she be able to truly prove herself as a REAL artist without all the b*******? Or will she fade away when the rest of her current image fades? Again, only time will tell.

@ Bobs, you and I both know damn well Sam and Trent ain’t gonna post Chris Brown’s flop ass numbers, so don’t even waste your time with it hun. We all know what the real deal is, whether they post it or not. No worries, Chris Brown is gonna flop harder than he beat his other flop of an ex-girlfriend, whether they like it or not.
