Sexy siren Ciara spoke to ‘MTV News’ last evening while at the VEVO launch in New York City. The singer elaborated about the direction that she will be taking on her next album, the follow-up to this year’s ‘Fantasy Ride‘. Ciara received a Grammy Award nomination for ‘Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals’ for her hit ‘Love Sex Magic’, which featured Justin Timberlake. The new LP hits stores in 2010.
This is certainly some interesting news. The fact that she is going to target “everybody” with this project is a very good indication that she will be developing material similar to ‘Love Sex Magic’, which saw her step out of her Urban niche and into the realm of Pop music. Ciara definitely has the potential to be an international act; with the potential to find success beyond the Hip-Hop/R&B format. Indeed, unlike many of her contemporaries (*hint hint*), she has both beauty and talent in her corner. I am eager to hear what she puts forward.

All artists you support, yet your main reason for hating Rihanna is said to be coz she got no vocal or musical talent? Please. Seriously though, Ciara’s singing isn’t the best, but she does songs that work for her voice. She’s an awesome performer & dancer (where Rihanna lacks) and is beautiful woman. She’s also more personable and reaches out to her fans via twitter. That makes me like her more b/c it shows that she is a real person and not some robot who you only see in pictures and on tv but never really shows her relatable side.
Oh and on the issue of Ciara, I really liked a couple of songs from the last album, it’s a shame they ditched it so fast. I hope she comes hard with this one.
I would never buy a ciara cd. I have to disagree with TGJ on this one. Ciara is not any more vocally talented than any average chick in my humble opinion. I like her though and I wish her well anyway because she seems like a nice person.
See, I am a Ciara fan but….hmm, um….. she can hold a note. She can’t sang. She can sing. but so can I…in the shower. I do think that she can find some success in other types of music because (except country) they dont involve spectacular singing skills. Well it’s nice that you have your opinion but my mom and I throughly enjoyed Ciara’s singing at the BET awards. My mother said she’d take CIara singing over Rihanna’s anyday… and SO WILL I because while Ciara’s voice is not powerful, it’s very pretty and much more tolerable than Rihanna’s.

i think you missed the point. Obviously you can’t hear her dancing on CD but I think what she means is that they will create records that she’d be able to perform well LIVE! Ciara’s a performer and this album will mark her as an international star, not just known in the U.S.

First of all, Unlike Rihanna, Ciara can sing. Rihanna release 3 albums and all her vocals sounds the same to me, It took Rihanna to go get her ass whipped, take a break and come back for us to have better vocals from her.
