After months full of murmuring and hearsay, it has today been confirmed that Beyonce‘s mother Tina Knowles is divorcing the singer’s father (and manager) Mathew after 29 years of marriage.
Interestingly, the power couple’s separation was legally filed back in November (as the pic below shows, courtesy of Bossip), yet only a few hours ago made its way out into the media:
Whatever the reason for their parting (which I’m sure will form the basis of many a debate), 29 years of marriage resulting in a divorce is quite sad. Sigh…

Mathew is beginning to have shady rep in the music biz too. Allegedly running a music “mafia” with Jay Z and also responsible for helping his daughter swagger jack music from other artists making Beyonce a so-called “writer”. Not to mention the couple of lawsuits over the swagger jacking which were settled in “private” meaning a lot of moola was paid out. I’m sure that added into the decision. Haha. Like who wants to be with a dude who cant be honest both personally and professionally.

This is really sad news. To be honest, I’m not sure that I believe necessarily that Matthew cheated on Tina and I don’t think there has been any real evidence to suggest this. I guess The Knowles family probably know what’s really going on and we should respect their privacy.
I’ve been a fan of Beyonce’s since No, No, No and I always thought The Knowles family seemed great. Hopefully they can all move on but remain on good terms since Tina and Matthew both still work with Beyonce.
I must admit I am a little suspicious of whether Matthew is unpleasant to work with seeing as even Kelly has gone in a different direction now.

I don’t think this is surprising. I also don’t think they’ve been faking it because I haven’t seen them make a public appearance together in years. Most time only one of Beyonce’s parents attend an even with her or they sit separately. I assumed they were separated a long time ago. As for all the other rumors about Mathew and Beyonce, we’ll probably never know if any of it is true. I think people like ‘THE TRUTH’ should stop beleiving everything that they hear about people that they don’t even know personally. Until something is confirmed why not give this hard working, goal oriented family the benefit of the doubt? Especially Beyonce, since so many people that do know her personally have vouched for her personality as a kindhearted lady.
