Those keeping up with Monica‘s awesome new BET show ‘Still Standing’ will know that the R&B star and her team had been mulling over the lead single from her forthcoming album of the same name (due March 9th). A few hours ago on Twitter, however, the 29 year old revealed that her label are going with a dual-single release:

MonicaMyLife: @thelarryjackson just called me and were doing a dual single release as planned bit the songs are One In A Lifetime & Love All Over Me

As a fan and an avid viewer of her show, Ms. Arnold had a wealth of great material to choose from and it appears the final choice was a wise one. Both ‘One In A Lifetime’ and ‘Love All Over Me’ are fantastic tracks. Here’s hoping they are smashes for her!

You can listen to both tracks below:

Wise choices Mo! Hope these singles makes her album sell quadruple platinum. I would also go wit Taxi 2 tho.

    Definetly great choices.

Glad to see there was compromise as far as the singles I am so happy to see talent like Monica still hanging in this music game even if her talent may get over looked she has a real passion for music and singing and love from her fans. I am also happy to know they chose a nice selections of R&b track that shows her talent as well. Hoping all turns out well.

I second everything Geeman says. I’m would’ve wanted one of these singles to be an upbeat song, but I don’t think she wanted to go the route of “Everytime the beat drops” from her last album (which failed, though I loved that club-banger…). A mid-tempo and a ballad of this quality is a good choice.

why 2 singles? one goes to r&b stations but where does the other one go?

Both songs sound really nice. It’s a little odd to me that the label is choosing two ballads as the lead singles. Releasing dual singles shows an effort to appeal to different audience bases and both of these singles will appeal to the same audience. In no way am I saying they shouldn’t be singles, just that they are not broadening the listening pot with songs that are similar. Anyway, good luck to Monica. I hope she does well.

    Right Right Right.

Love All Over Me is gonna BLOW……
Monica knows that for certain and the team had to support her on that.

I know originally she wanted Everything to be 1st but i felt it wasn’t quite 1st single and more of a 3rd or so.

One In A Lifetime has become the easiest choice to get clearance over in terms of a single releases with abit of tempo so i kinda think they settled on it rather than it be the main choice.

ABSOLUTELY joyed that Mo got her way in gettin a ballad as a single though.
She gonna smash it LIVE!!!! Cant WAIT!!!

This has made my day feel good now

I am THRILLED… OMG. I can’t wait. I have been waiting for this moment for such a long time… MONICA is BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These so called R&B chicks better watch out. If you watch her show, she is really put her heart and soul into making this album and has tried to craft something that was TRUE R&B, with REAL SOUL, REAL SINGING, and for something that would reach her REAL FAN BASE… She kept saying… “I just want to SING” and Dammit… she is SINGING!!!!

    GOOOOO MONICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    2010 IS YOUR YEAR

I REALLY LIKE BOTH SONGS…AND ALL OF HERE STUFF SHE HAS BEEN RECORDING FOR THIS ALBUM OTHER THAN LET ME KNOW LOL…..BUT EVEN IF BETCHA WAS ONE OF THE SINGLE CHOICES….BETCHA IS A GREAT SONG…..STILL VERY SOULFUL …SHE IS STILL BLOWING ON THE SONG…..AND IS NOTHING LIKE LAST TIME WITH EVERYTIME THE BEAT DROPS…SO WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN A GREAT SINGLE CHOICE BUT I DO LOVE EVERYTHING , LOVE ALL OVER ME, INFINITY, ONE AND A LIFTIME AND STAY OR GO

  17. ladia December 18, 2009

  20. Reina December 18, 2009

LAOM is that real R&B,yesss Monica slayed

  21. Quise December 18, 2009

@ Korey I agree Love all over me is that true ish there is no one on this Earth that can honestly say Monica didn’t kill that song. Her voice is like no other when she hits her high notes she just give you goose bumps. I’ve said it many times before when the true singers come back many of these artist who think they have the game on lock (e.i. Beyonce & Rihanna) better watch they backs before the washed up has beens 2010 is the return of the true artist.

  22. stan December 18, 2009

i like both songs, but dual singles with 2 ballads is a BAD idea.

should’ve gone with “love all over me” instead. the snippet sounds amazing.

  23. Alex December 19, 2009

I cant believe there releasing one in a lifetime, when that song leaked 6 months ago.
