In a recent interview with VIBE magazine, monster producer Tricky Stewart discussed several of his past and upcoming projects as well as his creative process. The ‘Single Ladies’ producer also elaborated on the direction that Pop star Christina Aguilera will be taking with her new album. Peep an excerpt from the interview below:
How did you approach working with Christina Aguilera versus R&B artists?
With Christina it’s a little different, because Christina wants music that you haven’t heard before. She did things that she’s never necessarily heard on the radio. She doesn’t want a record that sounds like anything else so you’re trying to create an entirely new sound for an artist. The three tracks that I did, they’re all uptempo tracks so we definitely kind of get the club moving but it’s just a matter of her doing different styles and using her voice in different ways. {Source}
This is some interesting news. Many would argue Christina has never been the type of artist to provide original content. Most of the material that she has put forward has followed the direction that acts such as Mariah Carey, Madonna and even Britney Spears did before her. Nonetheless, given the amount of mystery that has been surrounding this project, I would be lying to myself I said that I was not quite intrigued.

AGUILERA is very original.
She’s creating her own path like madonna or janet with a theme album every time and she takes time to create , always 3 or 4 years in between albums…
she’s smart and talented
her voice is amazing.
She may be compared to MAdonna tough (BACK 2 BASICS = I’M BREATHLESS Dick Tracy) and to Janet Jackson (STRIPPED = THE VELVET ROPE)
On the other hand, neither MARIAH CAREY nor that poor little BRITNEY SPEARS are close to Aguilera interms of quality album with a real theme, a real artistic direction…

When has Christina followed into either Mariah or Britney footsteps musically?? maybe with her first album, but since stripped she’s been doing her own thing.. I can’t see any girl in this industry who could of pulled off a album like Back to Basics.. She’s a mega talent, defiantly the best vocalist of this generation, can’t wait to see what she delivers.

As a Britney fan, when Sam says Christina followed Britney’s footsteps, I would assume he’s referring too Christina’s first album. Both we very “poppish” albums. Both Britney’s and Christina’s first album very very poppish. After that album, I never saw Christina follow Britney’s footsteps musically.
As to “MEDIACANNIBLE”, this is in regards to your comment about Britney has never had a quality album. LMFAO!!!! 3 WORDS FOR YOU “In The Zone”. As a Britney fan…… “In The Zone’ is he BEST album musically, artistically and it has depth. I dunno if you ever heard the album and I dunno if you looked at the credits of that album, but she put ALOT more effort in the album then she has done any other album she has released. But hey, that’s your opinion and I don’t have to agree with it but this is mines.

i read once on another website tht Lady Gaga had snatched Christinas crown,id say they are different but when i first heard ‘just dance’ i thought it was Christina..i didnt like her last album or single but she has a great voice..seems stuck up tho but i think there is still room for her..but nowadays its all about Beyonce,Gaga and Rihanna all other females really need to step up…its not just abt being able to sing. Maybe her n Gaga can do a duet plus they kinda look alike,it would be like Beyonce n Shakira in A Beautiful Liar.
ps:Christina did diss Lady Gaga when she was coming up and not many ppl knew her yet,bet she feels silly now.

I love Christina’s powerful singing voice. Christina would win a couple of vocal battles against Beyonce…Christina wont win them all! I don’t think she would win all vocal battles against Leona Lewis either… Im soo ready 2 c what new stuff Christina will deliver 2 the game!

Mariah Carey is the best vocalist of the last 20 years. She took Whitney Houston’s crown and so far no one has managed to take hers. Listen to “H.A.T.E. U.” off her new album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” and tell me Christina could sing with that much range…

You obviously don’t know anything about music or Christina Aguilera! Her Stripped, Back to Basic, hell even her Christmas albums have more characater and integrity than those you named. I love Janet, but technically and verbally Christina knocks her out the box. Don’t even bother with Britney, and she can hold her own with Mariah. Maybe not Mariah in the 90s, but have you checked her lately, if you did you be the only one.

One of the best voices in the business. The girl can certainly hold her own and I’m looking forward to hearing from her.

Nate I stand up and Clap to what you said! Because thats exactly what crossed my mind when I heared the comment the writer made. No offense because he’s usually write about alot of things. More tnan most. But definitely wrong about that. I support your statement when you say that she’s been original since Stripped. It sounded unlike anything that Brittney Frittney ever broguht to the table. Christina on Stripped was no longer a pop musician. She became A Soul Spirited BlowOut Phenomenom of a singer! And when she wasn’t that on the album which was rarely, she showed what Pure R&B Rhythem and Blues was. Britteny ate her dust in every aspect after that.. And On Back to Basics. Jesus Lord.. I don’t think you can describe!

Christina does her own thing. THe only album that was similar to her rivals was her debut album, and she even spoke about that, & how her label wanted her to be poppy, & condense her vocals & vocal range, & how anyone could’ve sung “Genie in A Bottle” & made it a hit & etc. But, after that, starting with “Stripped” she became an artist & went in her own direction. She may have may semi-similar music to her predecessors, but she’s def in her own lane. I love Christina & this new album shall be exciting, can’t wait.

& for Monique, Gaga not running shit. She is popular today, tomorrow she could be irrelevant. 24k the 1st week & just peaking @ 4 mill worldwide with her debut . Umm… Christina went diamond w/ her 1st album hun, & that’s just including Christina’s 1st album & on top of that everytime she come back out, she stay punching. Keep it cute with your poppy it girls for the moment. Because it’s never over until the LEGEND SANGS!

I saw a photo of Christina Aguilera with Nicole Ritchie girls’ night out. Christina looks gorgeous. It’s good that both had fun with other friends.
