Christina Aguilera has been busy filming her scenes for her new movie, ‘Burlesque’, lately. However, the powerhouse vocalist is said to be keeping her eyes on the prize with her next studio album, ‘Bionic’, which is now slated for an April release. The record, features an extensive list of collaborations from Sia Furler & Sam Dixon, Tricky Stewart, Claude Kelly, Santigold, M.I.A., John Hill & Dave Switch, Ladytron and Le Tigre. ‘Bionic’ showcases Aguilera singing everything from rap to dance to empowering ballads such as the Linda Perry production ‘Lift Me Up’. {Source}
If people weren’t eager to hear this album before, then I am certain that they are now. With such variation in the list of collaborators, it seems that she is heading more in the Urban direction that she did with ‘Stripped’ LP instead of the one she did with the scream fest that was ‘Back 2 Basics’. Aguilera better come out the gate with a strong first single though, because rap and dance records will put her in direct competition with Pop music’s reigning champion, Lady GaGa.

Christina is like the most rare artist in awhile after her it seems the talent had just stopped and what i LOVE LOVE LOVE about her is that she stays true to her artistry and releases songs that SHE feels is music and not what others feel is music so definately am getting a copy of this cd and JoJo’s when they come out because i always got a reminiscent vibe of the old Christina in her younger years when i looked at JoJo idk y tho haha 🙂

Lady Gaga is a great visual artist and musician; yet whether she is still around in another ten years like Christina is another story. On the otherhand it is blatantly obvious that Lady Gaga has talent and will always be making music whether top ten hits or not, – only a fool would say she was an attention seeker. I see great art with Gaga despite all the hype, and I think she is a revolutionary to pop.
Christina Aguilera has one of the greatest female voices in the world, and is also a great popular artist, so I have every faith in her to still be around till “the end”. Many are saying that Christina is not revelant to popular music anymore, yet people are still talking about her, so what does that tell you? Also, people are always going on that she has only released two albums since her debut; firstly, does it really matter to you? It has obviously worked for her, and it obviously has so much more meaning for her, I mean one year of dreaming it up and then four years working on it tells you just how much music means to her, being quoted on the E-special that Christina is the most technically perfect vocalist that “they” have ever worked with.
I don’t think it is the case of Christina not being relevant anymore, I see the next few years, or this next decade, a time when she really tunes into her own, a kind of transition to the Icon status like Cher, Madonna, Tina Turner, Celine Dion etc. In many ways it seems that Christina has modelled her business strategies on the likes of Madonna, especially concerning her ever-changing image – or maybe this is coincidence? So you see, Christina is past all the hype, because she isnt new anymore, but that still doesn’t mean she is fading away. For example, is Celine Dion in the media every week? Not really…Now and again…It is the fact that she is Celine Dion that makes her “immortal” rather than relevant…So I think this will be something that will happen to Christina, and probably Lady Gaga too in the end.
Gaga and Xtina comparisons are a little over-hyped too; I think it is total colncidence that Christina happend to look a little bit like Gaga at the 08 VMAS.
Either way, talent always, always wins through in the end; so lets see what happens.
