The 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony took place last evening at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. Beyonce made history at the event by becoming the first woman to win 6 awards at one event. Below is a list of winners in the major categories:

So far, Beyonce has won in most of the catagories she deserved (would’ve loved to have seen Ledisi take one home) and I am ecstatic about Maxwell and Gaga. I hope its not a “big” Grammy night for Bey, though. Although…that may get her to take some time away from the spotlight once and for all believing her status cemented within the industry.

Beyonce shouldn’t have won for “Best R&B Song,” or “Best Female R&B Vocal.” SINGLE LADIES is a party hit. It makes the category look stupid when you have power ballads from the likes of Jazmine Sullivan and Ann Nesby 10times more deserving of an award. But I am happy for Maxwell and Gaga, they very well deserve it!

So happy for Maxwell he should have won more. Also Taylors album sold the most in 09 so she deserved album of the year. While Bey worked hard in 09 and congrats on the 6, she should not have won in some of those vocal categories for Single Ladies, sorry but the other nominees songs were much stronger vocally. Melanie and Jazmine etc… The Grammys got those wrong and it makes it look like more popularity than actual vocal strength of the song. Oh well…………….

well, grammys and oscars were the only show awards with some credibility and fairness but I guess we just have to keep the Oscars since the Grammys are getting worse then MTV awards, Grammies were for the flawless ones, the unique ones, the wonderful ones, not the ones that sold the most, shame on this

I think overall the grammys has got themselves together. Out of all the awards shows that I’ve watched over the years, the grammys deserve the credit for their awards. The rest of the awards shows like the MTV’s VMA, BET Awards, Oscars, and the Billboards are just plain wrong. Good nominees in the catergory and yet the winner of the award doesn’t really deserve it. This years, it is pretty decent. More props to the Grammys this year. In conclusion, this year’s winners for the grammys awards, I agree with it. They deserved to win the award.

Single Ladies wasnt even popular because of the song. It was the video so she shuda gotten Best Short Form Video. And Its not even R&B so how did it even get a win let alone all those R&B nominations? And Rihanna won because Rap Song is a songwriters awards meaning she wrote on the song so she EARNED it. Congrats to Kelly on her win as well. And altho I disagree with some of Bey’s categories bcuz Single Ladies isnt R&B nor was her vocal performance of that song better than It Kills Me which shuda won or Lions, Tigers, and Bears, I still give her congrats because she made and broke a record with her 6 wins. So I must give her props still. U go Bey! Album of The Year shuda went to GaGa. R&B Female>It Kills Me. R&B Song>Blame it or Pretty Wings. Female Pop>Adele (Beyonce shuda been nominated for If I Were A Boy for that, not Halo. Lyric_Lee At Last performance she was nominated for was in fact for Cadillac Records. It even says so on the ballots and site. It says “At Last”, CAdillac Records motion picture soundtrack. The album soundtrack itself was also nominated whic is where she got her 9th and 10th nominations
