Grammy Award-nominated singer Melanie Fiona made guested on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ last evening. The R&B vocalist performed her hit song ‘It Kills Me’ from her debut album ‘The Bridge’. To date, the track has peaked at #49 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hip-Hop/R&B charts.
Fiona did her thing. She sang beautifully and seemed to be really ‘feeling’ the lyrics. Although I am not a fan of the song and consider it to be quite boring, it is great to see a singer with such raw talent on the stage again who does not have to step out on the stage half naked or rely on intricate hairstyles to get attention. Good stuff.

I feel Trent on this one. I love Melanie’s voice, but this song feels unfinished somehow. It even feels out of place on the album. Anyhow, if anyone hasn’t copped her album yet, you should. Melanie does not disappoint.

@Nikki…if you frequent the site then you’ll know that both Trent and Sam can’t help but hate on Rihanna in damn there every post. With that said…this Melanie Fiona chick is on my last nerve. How does singing mudane and overused lyrics within 2 octaves constitute “real” music? And I quote “So much I wanna ooh ooh ooh”. GTFOH. Music is about much more than one instrument/voice. Its about the finished product. Hate her or not Rihanna’s “Rated R” is one of the best albums to come out in 2009. And Omarion’s “Speeding” is an example of an excellently written song. FYI its madd chicks on the corner singing better than Melanie Fiona….but not everybody wants to hear that s***. And trent…According to Ms. Norwood herself…Rihanna’s album was great.
