Omarion Urges Fans To Help Haiti Instead Of Buying ‘Ollusion’

In an act of selflessness, Omarion has encouraged his followers on Twitter to ignore his new album and use their funds to help Haiti instead. The singer’s ‘Ollusion’ LP was released on January 12th, the same day that a catastrophic hit the nation. Check out his tweets below (courtesy of Rap-Up.com):

Although I high doubt that many people were planning to spend their money on Omarion’s album in the first place, he deserves some recognition for this move. I am certain that some would argue that he will simply use this plight to warrant his projected poor sales next week, but that does not detract from the fact that his words could help the cause. Omarion joins a long list of celebrities who are using their power to help Haiti through one of the worst disasters it has experienced in recent times.

As Trinidadian who regularly observes the powerful effects of nature on the other developing countries of the West Indies, including hurricanes, earthquakes and tropical storms, I urge you all to please help in any way you can. If you would like to send funds and resources to those afflicted by this disaster, visit CARE to place your donations. Furthermore, don’t let a catastrophe of this magnitude be the only time that you consider the developing states around the globe. With millions living below the poverty line, we need to do our best everyday to help save lives.

SORRY, motive or not, by hi tweet, he helped to spread the message about Haiti and if his followers hadn’t heard or were not inspired yet, if his tweet could get 10 people to donate then I respect him for that.

Stop questioning people’s motive. Did you all donate, I did and watchingCNN is sickening that the help is soo slow.

Wyclef, call L Boogie, Lauren Hill an put the Fugees back together again to raise money

I love him for doing that. And I love thatgrapejuice, a music blog, for reporting about it and this situation in Haiti, encouraging your readers to help. Bloggers and everybody in the world needs to get on board with this. Use facebook, twitter, myspace, your own blogs, anything to get the word out that we need to help out. The situation is really bad and people are gonna die if they don’t get basic things like water.

Btw Trent, another typo alert for “HIGHLY* doubt” lol :).

It’s as easy as texting “HAITI” to 90999. $10 will be sent to RedCross to help. But I’m not sure that’s for the folks outside the states.

(Jamaica $25) Text “Help” to 444-2452.

(Eastern Caribbean Countries $1) – Text Help to 5151.

    (United States – $5) – Text “YELE” to 501501

Also, it’s really sad how some of you guys are sitting here doing nothing but being negative toward Omarion for doing that. It really is pathetic.

LOL…I like Omarion, but I didn’t even know for the longest he had a CD coming out. Bad promotion and having your raise in the video is a FAIL from the jump. But I don’t like the cd and don’t know anyone who bought it.

good for him. unlike certain other r&b dudes that this website stans for **hint hint**, he seems to be a good person and won’t pitch a fit at his sals.
