Rihanna Set To Perform At Grammy Awards
In keeping with the trend of featuring music’s most talented artists, Rihanna has been added the Grammy Awards lineup. The world renowned vocalist joins Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Celine Dion, Usher and Jennifer Hudson among others. The Grammy Awards ceremony airs on Sunday, January 31st. {Source}
This is great news! I woke up this morning and thought to myself that the Grammy ceremony was lacking some serious talent this year. None of the listed performers have Rihanna’s vocal skill or her ability to entertain the millions who will be watching. So imagine my relief when I heard that the true diva Rihanna was going to demonstrate her amazing voice on the Grammy stage. We all know that everybody in the industry wishes that they had her dial tone vocal range. I’m so excited to watch her perform! *insert sarcasm here*

Why do people even comment telling Sam & Trent to stop throwing shade at Rihanna, it’s Sam’s blog so he can publish his own opinions all he wants. Though there is no need for this much shade, I am slightly disappointed especially considering the calibre of the artists performing at this year’s Grammys. I don’t think her performance will be critically acclaimed – when performing next to others who are far more talented, she tends to come off badly. Just think of the badly reviewed 2009 AMA performance…
Don’t know if this is such a good idea, but it’ll be interesting to see what she does. maybe she’s owed it due to last year’s tragic events which prevented her from performing.

Being an Oprah STAN, I know when Oprah enjoys a performance. (See MJB & Andrea Bocelli, Bey’s Listen or the gospel performance at her Legend’s brunch.) She was not feeling that performance, but she appreciated Rihanna coming through. #keepit100

People do like to hate on Rihanna. I’m guilty, but if your not good at your job then get it together. Like many lack luster singers Rihanna was given an opportunity to live many people’s dream and she took it (can’t hate on her for that). I do think many black people are hard on her because she at least would try to sound better before.

Now that she is an international IT GIRL and the face of Black POP music maybe we hold her to a higher standard now. Rated R has a different sound which is COOL, but when you try something different you better know how to sell it on stage (That is what she is lacking right know). A lot of people can take whack lyrics and a hot beat and go number one if you know how to sell it (Kesha -Tik Tok).
She needs vocal training, dancers and she did a good job by getting the person who puts together Madonna’s Stage Shows to do Her Euro Tour.
