Jennifer Lopez Sings Live On ‘Saturday Night’

Published: Sunday 28th Feb 2010 by Trent

Jennifer Lopez hosted on ‘Saturday Night Live’ this weekend. The performer, who recently parted ways with Epic Records, performed two new songs from her ‘Love?’ LP which will hit stores this Summer. Check out her performances and the show’s ‘We Are The World’ parody where Lopez imitated Rihanna:

‘Starting Over’

‘Pieces’

‘We Are The World’ Parody

Although I am glad that Lopez finally decided to sing live for the probably the 1st time during this promotional campaign, I wonder if it really the best idea. Her voice cracked and trembled while she struggled to remain on-key throughout both performances. That makes the thought of her tackling a Barbra Streisand song even harder to comprehend. Well, at least she still has her looks…

Thoughts?

Oh dear she sounds sharp during the hooks.. but was passable through the verses of Starting Over..
    I like the song though.

  8. Ben February 28, 2010

That “We Are The World” parody was funny!

  9. truehill February 28, 2010

Meh, not to fussed about either performance. If these are her new songs I can see why she was dropped. these songs won’t do anything on radio or even invite old fans back. Perhaps A/C but I don’t know….I couldn’t listen to any all the way through.

  10. Chris T. February 28, 2010

It wasn’t horrible but I definitely wouldn’t say she’s a singer. She’s a performer who is learning how to sing well enough to entertain an audience but her voice has no dynamics, no power and no clarity. But i’ll commend her performances because I appreciate her singing live no matter what.

  11. jbnee February 28, 2010

she was alright though.. starting over was good actually… the chorus was a bit… err lol

in pieces well the first 3 mins were pretty decent!

  13. Stoney-Brie February 28, 2010

ok i don like Rihanna but J.lo is now starting 2 become an angry rude mother of two..
    that was jst wrong!

  14. ‘Ello February 28, 2010

It was bad but I can’t hate on J-Lo.

  15. 12345 February 28, 2010

why dont you post about beyonce being in court ONCE AGAIN? Last week she was acused by a bulgarian designer that she stole his ideas for her HOUSE OF DIARRHEA and this week a musician acused her of stealing ideas for her “Bootylicious” song, she said she created the word ROFL, WHY DONT YOU POST THE TRUTH ABOUT THE THIEF? DIVA MY ASS, TALENTED MY ASS, LEGEND MY ASS!!!

  16. JACOB February 28, 2010

LOL, 12345 I love you. I really don’t get why Beyonce doesn’t get more s*** for copyrighting. She’s had it done too many times for people to keep saying others are jacking her when she’s at the top.

But back to J.Lo, she had some really pitchy moments (like cringe worthy) but she suprisingly had some really good moments too. I love her new music (NOT LOUBOUTINS) because it shows growth and maturity. Give her a couple more live performances and she’ll grow into these songs and make em sound good.

    LOVE Startin’ Over.

  17. NO February 28, 2010

    She was great.

  18. AC February 28, 2010

I’m assuming that someone above was referencing me but you may be surprised to know that I do not think her last album Brave was the buisness. It was decent but there was nothing great about it. These two songs are okay but nothing great. If she doesn’t deliver, she’s going to fall off the face of the music industry world.

  19. Bobby D February 28, 2010

    …horrible

  20. Kevin February 28, 2010

    to all the haters:

if you don’t like how this blog blogs, why visit and comment on it?

that’s like a vegetarian going to a butcher, buying a steak and then telling the butcher how bad it was.

  21. Jolie February 28, 2010

    LOL…pure comedy!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. monique February 28, 2010

ALTHOUGH I DDNT REALLY WTCH THE PERFORMANCE I LISTENED AND THE 2ND 1 WAS BTTR THAN THE 1ST BUT HER TIME IS REALLY UP

  23. AalexisR (The Bahamas) February 28, 2010

It wasn’t horrible. I like her lower register, it’s sweet and melodic but the shouting wasn’t necessary. She definitely isn’t tone deaf. I hope she keeps working.

  24. LJ February 28, 2010

The song was horrific. I’m not overly critical… it was really terrible and it’s confusing how she keeps selling CD’s. She’s beautiful, but should not be singing.

  25. anonymouss February 28, 2010

    LMAOO!
i loved that parody! wow…so true.

  26. Krist February 28, 2010

This post is about Jenifer Lopez, not Beyonce. Why must everything be made about Beyonce? Don’t get me wrong, I love her music but please if you wanna drag her through the mud, drag her elsewhere.

Anyway, J’lo aint never and will never sound good. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. It’s sad that her parody of Rihanna for a few seconds sounded better than all of her albums combined.

  27. X,Y,”and Z” February 28, 2010

Let’s see…I’ll be kind; y’all can’t say I didn’t try, that Rihanna part she “had-on-lock” but jenny should GO BACK TO SUCKING C***!! …Like Ben Affleck said: “she almost ruined my career!”

    X,Y,”and Z” — OUT!!

  28. Steeve87 March 1, 2010

  29. Bobby from Bulgaria March 1, 2010

So… You’re posting about Rihanna not sending a post card or something…???

    Well… Where’s Sam???

Why didn’t you post about Beyonce being sued for stealing from a Bulgarian designer then, Sam????????????????????????????

    Ah??????????????????????????????

    Where are you, you weasel???????????????

  30. Alex March 1, 2010

  37. 12345 March 1, 2010

WHY DONT YOU POST THE FACT THAT THE MOTHER OF JASMINA AMENA HAS THIS ON TWITTER? : “Apparently there are some negative blogs out there. For the record, Rihanna has been nothing but really nice !!! ”
Her account was hacked you fucktard, you wish Rihanna would be a mean person so you could watch her fall and laugh your ass off, well, not really dude, try another time.
Everyone can see that on “Oneforjasmina” twitter

OH, and where the f*** is the post about Beyonce being in court again for stealing songs? This time is Bootilycious, ROFL

  38. X,Y”and Z” March 1, 2010

@12345 — Come now! …We-ALL-know, Def Jam done handed-out hush-money; this is why, we NOW have, this…’back-pedaling’ by that little girl’s mother. The one that Rihanna used – ONLY to gain sympathy and ONLY to sell her CD! …Like I said, as I’ve BEEN saying, Rihanna has great-PR!

    X,Y “and Z” — OUT1

  39. Tamika March 1, 2010

Girlfriend is just upset that nobody invited her old played out cant sing ass to the real remake of the song!!

  40. Truthwillprevail March 2, 2010

an engineer out of connecticut said recording for j. lo is like open heart surgery. She hates recording, but it takes atleast a month to complete one track, mixing and mastering. She has other singers that sound like her to complete the song. Hate to break it to you, but she’s NOT a singer, she just LOOKS beautiful, and ppl will support her. I love J.LO but I know the truth about her vocally. Still love you j.lo..atleast she is trying to sing live tho.

  41. CJ March 5, 2010

I love JLo but all of these songs suck…I really wanted her to make an impact with this LP but i’m not getting it.
